1 Bed Elegant Flat In Quiet Villagy Part of Chelsea.Sunny Grnd Floor & Garden.

Bedrooms 1
Space 550 sq ft
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 3 - 4 nights

About the property

Wonderful Sunny 1 Double Bed Relaxed Home In Fashionable Chelsea With Garden.

This is a new, beautifully renovated charming one double bedroom quiet ground floor home with all it’s original features intact. It has a bright, elegant reception room with dining table for 6, large T.V. and WiFi. There is a large sunny separate fully equipped kitchen. Both reception room and kitchen have sliding folding oak doors fully opening up the rooms onto the sunny private patio garden where you can have a candlelit supper on a warm evening.

The location of this property makes the flat quite unique: It is in a very up-market area of London, just off the fabulously expensive and renowned Cheyne Walk (runs along the river) and literally minutes from the legendary Kings Road and some of the best shops, cafes, bars and pubs. If you enjoy walking, there are some great walks on both sides of the river and the beautiful Battersea Park is a 10 minute walk away. In the summer it is great fun ambling around watching groups playing softball and having picnics or using the Park restaurant and enjoying concerts. There is a docking station with Barclays (Boris) bikes to hire just around the corner from the flat. There are very many docking stations around London where you can drop the bikes off once you are tired!

The bus service on the Kings Road takes you everywhere you will want to go and it is such a fun way of seeing London from the top deck! But if you prefer taxis, The Victoria & Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum are a 10-minute taxi ride away, while London's major tourist attractions, such as Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Big Ben, Tower of London and exclusive Knightsbridge/Sloane avenue shopping are 15 minutes from the flat by taxi. The nearby (5 minutes) Imperial Wharf Station has direct trains to Clapham Junction (three minutes) and Westfield Shopping Centre (six minutes). The links from Clapham Junction take you directly to Victoria (Buckingham Palace) in five minutes and 45 minutes to Windsor Castle. Imperial Wharf also connects in one stop/five mins to West Brompton which gives access via the District line to the whole City.

Transport to and from the airports is very easy.

HEATHROW: A 6 minute bus (C3) or a taxi to Earls Court tube station and then a direct tube to Heathrow taking approx 38 minutes.

GATWICK: A 9 minute taxi ride to Victoria train station and then the Gatwick express which runs every 15 minutes and takes 30 minutes.

Just around the corner from the flat is the Chelsea Harbour Hotel and Marina. It has a gym, swimming pool and Spa which you can use for a charge per day or for a month (worth it if you stay for more than 4 days!). It also has an elegant bar/restaurant where you can sit on the balcony overlooking the boats in the Marina. Next to the hotel is the very well known Chelsea Harbour Design Centre with all it's fabulous home design/fabric shops + coffee/snack bars. Two minutes away are two antique/furniture auction houses. One of them, Lots Road Auction House, is very well known in London and has an auction every Sunday with viewings Wednesday evening through till Sunday.

A minute's walk from the flat is the famous 606 jazz club where you can have supper or a drink whilst listening to an eclectic selection of musicians.

If you would like to play golf, there is a Public Course in the beautiful surroundings of Richmond Park. An 18 hole and 9 hole full size courses. Weekends should be booked in advance.

There is also a course at Cobham in Surrey called the Silvermere Golf and Leisure Ltd. It is approx 17 miles by car or by train from Imperial Wharf/Clapham Junction.

About Ann Louise Stebbing

The flat took a year to renovate but since finishing it a short while ago, we have moved to the south coast most of the time as we love sailing and living beside the water. We will still really enjoy coming up to London when the flat is empty. Having lived in London most of our adult lives, we love coming back to visit friends and potter around our 'village'.

Ann Louise Stebbing purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Ann Louise Stebbing chose Chelsea

The flat is very well positioned in Chelsea as it is close to all amenities but is in a very quiet village-like peaceful part of Chelsea with the River Thames so very close. There is a small pretty park around the corner with the bigger park - Battersea Park - close by.

What makes this apartment unique

Home from home...settle straight in and relax as quickly as we do...make a cup of tea or pour a cold glass of wine and sit in the garden with all the doors folded back.

Great Flat in Quiet Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this flat for two weeks in May. It was well situated to bus stops, tube stops, and shops. London is such a great city to walk in so we took advance of being so close to the River and had regular morning walks there. (I would highly recommend a walk to Battersea Park, it's just across the bridge and is a wonderful and quiet retreat from the city.) Back to the flat..., we really enjoyed coming home to a quiet space at the end of our busy days. The bed is super comfortable and we easily slept through the night. The outside area is nice and we had beautiful weather to enjoy it. I would highly recommend this flat for anyone looking to stay in Chelsea.

Lovely property in great location!

  • 4 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised by the property. The pictures were an accurate representation of what we hoped it would be.

The small patio was a joy to relax in on a sunny day and the design makes very efficient use of a small space.

We used public transportation for the entirety of our stay and found it to be quite convenient.(approximately 45 minutes to Leicester Square by bus/tube). The cabinet doors require some work as some do not stay closed, but that was a minor complaint.

Small, intimate and very quiet

  • 5 of 5

This place is small but cozy and cute. Perfect for a couple (but probably not more than two adults), and a great location from which to explore London. We loved the fact that it was so quiet, both during the day and all night, and that it was within easy walking distance to all sorts of public transportation (river taxi, tube, hop-on hop-off bus tours, etc). The only possible drawbacks are that there is no in-house thermostat, so the heat has to be adjusted by the owner upon request, and, if you are a big guy like me, the bathroom is truly tiny. But actually, once you get used to it, the smallness sort of adds to the intimate feel. Ann and her crew are great hosts, and we very much enjoyed our stay. We will be in London again next year and will definitely be looking to stay here again.

A lovely flat in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here

The flat was well located for all our needs with the Kings Road and it's buses within a few minutes walk and a great local pub the Chelsea Ram less than 5 minutes away. There is also secure parking outside the zone available in Edith Grove.

The next few comments are suggestions not criticisms

We would have liked bed side tables in the bedrooms, the mugs provided were a little to large and smaller cups and saucers would have been ideal

We did struggle with the size of the bathroom and the closing of the fridge door to ensure no frosting. The light in the fridge should be renewed and some of the kitchen doors were difficult to secure. There were no scissors in the kitchen. We stress these are minor items for us but the property is offered at the top of the rental scale.

Finally and this was a big problem for us the folding doors to the patio and outside eating/relaxing are we did not use due to the screaming and shouting of two children close by.we could not open the doors due to the racket which went on sometimes until 11 at night.Children do of course make noise that we accept but this was a disgrace and no attempt was made by the parents to take control

This must be a terrible problem for the residents particularly the nice lady living in the flat above

Beware any future tenants !

Owner's Response: Dear Richard, We’re pleased you thoroughly enjoyed your stay and thank you for your helpful comments. We try to implement guests suggestions wherever possible so it is very useful receiving them so we can continue improving. I’m sorry to hear about the noisy children - I called Jean upstairs but she said she was not aware of any excessive noise therefore I am presuming you were unlucky with visiting children. Best regards Annette’

Charming Chelsea flat

  • 5 of 5

The flat is stylish and comfortable, with good quality fuurniture and fittings. It is also very light and sunny, with large folding glass doors from the living room and kitchen into the small private patio. It is situated on a quiet street close to the river. Good restaurants and pubs are nearby.

nice, but off the beaten track and quite small

  • 3 of 5

the apartment was cozy, but the bathroom was really almost claustrophobic, literally the size of two phone booths. Difficult to reach items on the upper shelves of the kitchen. The nearest tube station was more than a mile away. The neighborhood was quiet, but not very convenient to grocery stores, etc. I'm afraid we expected more for the price we paid.

Owner's Response: Dear Robert, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and am sorry that you didn't locate the local food shops (5 minute walk) or the imperial wharf station 5 minutes away (fulham broadway is a 10 minute walk) or the buses running up and down the Kings road (a 3 minute walk) . We do list all of these in the guest file but I will ask our check in ladies to be sure to highlight these on future check ins as we do always want our guests to have the best possible experience. Though the shower room is small, I made the actual showering area large (for a small London flat) so anyone can enjoy a good shower. I put extra high cupboards in the kitchen to be able to store my own personal items at the top and again I will remind check in to point this out to guests. I do hope you had a good trip home All the best Ann Louise
