Perfect holiday apartment within a short walk of shops, restuarants and more.

I chose the apartment as it appeared on paper to suit the cycling holiday I had planned and it didn't disappoint.

The apartment is of an average size but you would fit four people in ok. It has one very large queen size bed and one large sofa bed which my friend said was very comfortable. The apartment appears to have only recently been renovated to a high standard. It is modern but retains period charm including exposed stone and brickwork. We were made to feel very much at home by the owners Jean-Francois and Isabelle who also let us use their garage to store our bikes. I could not fault the apartment.

The location is a quiet road in the small town of Saint Jorioz, just a short drive or bike ride from Annecy. It is a very peaceful and relaxing setting. Within a ten minute walk are a number of shops including a supermarket and handful of good restaurants. Be warned It can get busy so book the restaurants in advance if you can.

Just a little further on is the excellent, safe and non hilly cycle path that hugs the very large and stunning lake Annecy before heading south in the direction of Albertville. It's a great place for cycling for either a leisurely cruse around the lake or taking on more challenging rides for the fitter keener cyclist. The local tourist office will supply you with a map of routes including levels of difficulty. There are several bike hire shops locally. We hired a Cannondale e-bike (electrically assisted bike) for my wife and she climbed the magnificent Col Du Forclaz mountain. Worth a visit for the fantastic views and Edelweiss restaurant on top.

Of the restaurants we particularly liked Les Tilleuls as the food was good but inexpensive, the menu varied, and portion sizes large (we were cycling and had big appetites). The Auberge Le Semnoz was a great but slightly unusual find. It is a hotel restaurant with the heads of various animals mounted on the walls. The set menu was four courses with a choice of only two items for each course. However don't let this put you off. The food was excellent and not one of us was disappointed with any of the courses on the two occasions that we went there. The chef made a point of asking if we were enjoying our meals and all for 25 euros! The waiting staff were great too. The Florilege restaurant was also very good.

All in, we had a great time with the apartment being an excellent base.

Awesome holidays in a lovely apartment.

We had fantastic holidays. We loved the quiet location, the garden to relax, the perfect equipped kitchen, the cosy and lovely apartment.

Supermarket and bakery are near but far away enough to hear noises of cars or people.

It was the perfect location to start our trips for hiking or cycling.

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé une semaine reposante. L’appartement est très agréable et bien équipé (cuisine, TV, WIFI …). La literie est très bien. La région est magnifique l’été. La plage de Saint Jorioz est très agréable et on peut se promener le long du lac. Il y a de belles randonnées à faire dans les massifs des environs. Sûrement, nous reviendrons.
