We had a wonderful time in this fully equipped flat in a perfect location. We arrived to be welcomed by two charming ladies who showed us around.Obviosly, cleanliness is most peoples priority, and this certainly ticked the box.The flat has all you need. The toilet/shower room is spacious and effecient. The kitchen has every appliance, and the lounge area is comfortable. The master bedroom is nicely kitted out,and the sofabed is very comfy. The mezzanine floor has two single beds, one being very low, obviously more suited to children. We would have no hesitation in recommending nor in returning to this wonderful appartment.
We stayed in the apartment August 2016, 3 ladies and a 3-year-old boy. Quai Henry IV is the best area to stay in Dieppe for tourists - great view and packed with nice restaurants and a bakery. The apartment is beautiful and spacious. It was clean and kitchen had all the equipment needed - complete set of pans, mixing bowls, serving dishes, casseroles, many coffee cups and drinking glasses, plates, knives. Also for cleaning the house, ironing clothes, bath towels, linens. There is a dishwasher and some soap tablets to use for it. No washing machine so we had to walk to a nearby washing shop, but you can hang the clothes back in the apartment because there is this thing you can use to hang clothes. Though it is close to the road it is quiet at night because restaurants closes early and driving cars are rare during the night.
The bedrooms have big closets with hangers so there is a lot of room to keep stuff.
I am not sure if I actually spoke with Eric or if I just met a representative (because we couldn't have a conversation other than sign language), but Eric replies right away with every question I throw him in VRBO before we arrived. He is very keen in answering all my questions and additional requests such as iron, high chair and baby crib. But I always google translated to French before sending to him so it is easier for him to understand. The hosts were welcoming and friendly.
I am a very meticulous person but I approve the place. It was a very pleasant and comfortable stay. Highly recommended.
Advice about the beach: wait until it is lowtide so you can enjoy the fine and huge sand. If you want to go to the area of the beach where the stone mountains are, please be aware that there could be some spots of quicksand where the water had subsided. It is always possible in every beach to have these spots during lowtide. I actually stumbled into one when I and my son are walking in the sand. When I saw that watery spot, I had the speculation it was a quicksand so I put one foot in it to know. It was very soft and could have initially buried my legs up above the knee if I fully stepped in. I was nervous afterwards because my little son could have stepped in it. Except from that everything was great. Dieppe is one of must visit place in France.
We were on a family trip with 2 adults and three kids. The two bedrooms had 4 beds - the bedroom upstairs would be perfect for a third bed, but we used the sofabed in the living room which was a great choice.
Mr and Mrs Lacroix are great, flexible. and relaxed hosts. Everything was clean and the beds were prepared (except the sofabed).
It was very hot during the week we stayed there - over 30 degrees Celsius - so we had to leave the windows open at night... But that was the downside: especially on weekends, many cars and motorbikes passed by in "show off" mode, so sometimes it can get loud. Windows closed, that would not be a problem, however it was too hot.
The location is very close to many restaurants, directly at the harbour and less than 5 min walk from the beach and waterfront.
Give it a try!
