About the property

Set between Saint-Remy-de-Provence and Avignon in the heart of Cabannes

It is nested close to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, one of France's prettiest villages (12 km away, 10 min), in Cabannes, a small Provencal village. The farmhouse enjoys a choice position to visit the Alpilles and Luberon — two listed Regional Natural Park areas —, tour the Arles towns brimming with historical and medieval monuments, Nimes, and Avignon

It is in a great geographical location 20 minutes away from Avignon TGV train station, five minutes from the A 7 motorway, seven minutes from Avignon Airport, and 45 minutes from Marseille International Airport. You can reach the surroundings with ease.

Set in Provence among it sweet scents, the Provencal farmhouse is designed to leave you with wonderful memories. It is a privileged space, far from onlookers, that offers your complete privacy.

Mas des Pampres is a listed 4-star tourist accommodation.

This declaration guarantees a certain level of comfort and amenities for wonderful holidays.

Everyone can find their own space in this large lodging of around 400-sq.m.

Sitting in the middle of the village, it is a charming cocoon, a family home, a heritage.

We are fond of Provence and its culture.

A family member, Léopold Vidau, a writer of prose in the Provencal dialect and Provencal poet was a friend to Frédéric Mistral, author whose most note-worthy works are "Histoire de Cabannes", "Entre Durance Alpilles", and more besides. This is definite proof of our Provencal roots.

Under the Provencal sun, you really feel the property's authentic nature, serenity, and peace. It is an assured, simple sort of beauty.

You can go shopping without a car. The basic shops are nearby. Come and stay in the heart of a village sitting on the doorstep of the countryside.

Young and old can come together to explore the small cabin, the famous, fully shaded boules court take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool in the summer, or take a nap on the terrace to the sound of the chirping cicadas in the hundred-year-old plane trees.

You can take cooking classes from a chef with lessons for children in the farmhouse's kitchen.

In addition, the owner can arrange the following services subject to a fee: hairdressing, aesthetic treatments, massage, and more besides.

It is available in the farmhouse, in addition to the horse riding lessons by the hour or day in the village.

About Mireille Taton

Former tree-growing specialists growing apples, peaches, and peaches, we are now retired, and would be honoured to welcome you to our home.

This is why we decided to make our family Provencal farmhouse into a rental cottage.

We enjoy hosting, and family life. We hope that you'll feel at home here.

Mireille Taton purchased this mas in 1978

Why Mireille Taton chose Alpilles

We love Provence as it's where our roots are.

Our ancestors built the Provencal farmhouse in 1880 and it has been in the family ever since.

An ancestor, Léopold Vidau, a writer of prose in the Provencal dialect was a close friend of Frédéric Mistral, author whose most note-worthy works are "Histoire de Cabannes", tracing the area's origins from antiquity up to 1913, and "Entre Durance Alpilles" a book of Provencal poetry.

Under the Provencal sun, you really feel the property's authentic nature, its serenity, and peace. It is an assured, simple sort of beauty.

What makes this mas unique

The farmhouse is on a leafy, 5,000-sq.m plot that is fully fenced and in the centre of Cannes. This small Provencal village is close to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

It has three storeys and a surface area of around 400 sq.m.

The professional kitchen offers a 1,200-L fridge, a freezer with a capacity of 600 L,

a cooking range, a powerful, stainless steel grill, a microwave, a dishwasher, and lastly a central island measuring 1.30 m lengthways and 3 m widthways.

Here you can cook as a family !

Cooking an important passion, but a lack of time on other occasions, makes it perfect for holidays. There are cooking classes for adults and others specially suited for kids. This is a great way to look after you.

The dining room as a bar area with a refrigerated counter where, on arrival day, you can sip a fruit juice, a rosé, or a white wine(please drink in moderation)

The large living room offers bay windows with garden views.

The living room has a play area for children. It's fully separate and perfect for a bit of calm between those of the same age group

A Little Slice of Paradise in Provence

  • 5 of 5

This incredible home in the middle of Provence has everything you could ask for if you are looking for a place for a large family or group. We rented it for a week to celebrate my partner's 50th birthday and could not have asked for a better place for the eleven of us who stayed there. The photos on the website do not lie; it is as beautiful and as spacious as it looks. But beyond the beauty, what made it so special was how well appointed and equipped the place is. Tons of dishes, glasses, towels, candles, etc. Great beds and bathrooms...and lots of them. We especially loved the two huge outdoor tables and a large indoor one that easily accommodated all of us each night for dinner. Pierre and Mirielle (the gracious and generous proprietors) were on site to help us with anything we might need, but never got in our way or intruded on our enjoyment. Our only complaint would be the spotty wifi, but one should really not worry about those things with one is on vacation. All in all a wonderful place for creating wonderful memories.

A great home away from home for friends and family!

  • 5 of 5

The Mas des Pampres is well situated near to beautiful and historic Avignon, Chateauneuf du Pape, the Vaucluse, Arles, the Camargue and many other fabulous southern Rhone sights.

The villa is a well-appointed holiday home with many large and attractive gathering places, highly suitable as a vacation destination for both friends and family. The pool and cabana is a lovely outdoor amenity along with a pétanque pitch, large garden and majestic mature plane trees.

The bedrooms are comfortable and well appointed and most have private bathrooms.

The kitchen is first-rate and we prepared many fine meals with the excellent local products available from nearby markets.

Mireille took great care of us throughout our stay and we'd all happily return to the Mas des Pampres.

Pictures and Description Do Not Do This House Justice!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I, a group of 10 adult cousins (and one adult child who joined us 1/2 way through the week) enjoyed a week of unadulterated luxury and beauty at Mas des Pampres. We felt like we were in our own secluded chateau far from crazy traffic, noise and crowds. And yet, out the back gate we were in the middle of our little town. It was a very hot week, yet we were perfectly cool and comfortable in every room of the house, while inside. When we wanted to be outside we made liberal use of the immaculately clean and large swimming pool and the chaise lounges and towels provided. I can't begin to describe how elegant and spacious the interior is. The pictures are accurate in their looks but don't give you an idea of how much room their is for everyone to be comfortable. The kitchen is HUGE and while we cooked no dinners, we did use it and many of the appliances provided, which are all of the highest quality. Mireille put me in touch with Laure Balducci, a local chef, who came into the house and prepared a dinner for us one night. My family is still talking about the incredible meal that Laure made for us. It was amazing! The bedrooms in the house are all large, and with totally updated decor. There is a great deal of care and thought put into this wonderful house in the way it looks and feels for guests. Just the lighting on the stairs and around the bar is breathtaking, not to mention the outdoor lighting on the grounds. I could go on for hours, really. Cabannes is a small town, but it is right in the middle of everywhere you want to be. The farthest we went was about 40 minutes to Aix-en-Provence. Chateauneuf de Pape was about 25 minutes, all the towns of the Luberon were right around the corner as was St. Remy and Arles. It's a great place to be. We were lucky, during the week we were there it was the time of the local fete and we saw parades, bull fighting, running with the bulls, bicycle races and lots of music, all out our back gate. But, when we closed that gate it was like none of it was there. This is a truly special house, you should look no further for a fantastic vacation home in Provence!!

I must also mention that our hosts Mireille and Pierre are incredibly generous as well. The house was STOCKED with amazing goodies when we arrived. We couldn't believe it! They are rightfully proud of this amazing house and show it with their kindness and generosity to their guests!

Gorgeous Farmhouse in Provence area.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay. The farmhouse exceeded our expectations. The grounds were stunning and the house was also spectacular. Stocked with everything you could possibly need, from spices to cello/aluminum wrap, dinner napkins and every pot/utensil you could possibly need to prepare the meal of your dreams. Our teenage kids loved the pool, playing football on the property, jumping on the trampoline and feeding the 3 adorable grey chickens who look like show birds and live in a little house off the driveway. Our hostess Mireille and her husband Pierre were fabulous, greeting us with a large basket of fresh fruit, pizzas and savoury treats as well as wine and juices from their family's farm. The location is fantastic, within 15-20 minutes from the best Provençal markets such as L'Isle Sur La Sorgue, Carpenaras, Saint Remy de Provence, Avignon. Also 30 minutes away from our favourite wine region Chateauneuf du Pape! We even did a road trip to Saint Tropez (only a 2.5 hour drive) to go to the market at Place des Lices and swim at the Pampelone beach. Overall a great vacation.

Wonderful House and Hospitality

  • 5 of 5

Wow! What a house! We were a group of 12 (6 adults and 6 kids), and we enjoyed the house so much. It had everything (and more) we were looking for. We didn't want to leave in the end. The host was amazing as well. She welcomed us with food and wine and was accessible whenever we needed her (we only had a few questions we contacted her for). We all agreed we would return for another vacation in the future.
