This house is situated in East Dorset-where the Battenkill River forms. With its spectacular mountainous backdrop-directly across the street from the Wilson House-this simple but unique space is convenient to scenic VT RT 7a- less than a mile from horse show grounds.
Our house has historic significance as the town's first General store. This space (a studio divided into 2 floors) provides a convenient and strategic starting point for days activity. The location is convenient to retail outlets, restaurants and outdoor venues(i.e. Fishing, hiking, biking etc)
This old house has been recently renovated and lies directly across the street from the renowned Wilson House. In our home you will find informative pictures (photos taken in the late 1800's and early 1900's) and documents (i.e. original blue prints store ledgers) that enlighten guests to the building's notable past.
Adding to the charm and authenticity/history of the General Store ‐ which at one time had its own train stop ‐ there will be the occasional train (Vermont Rail) coming through town a few times day.
