The apartment Occupies an attic so, as you can see from the pictures, the ceiling height is not so and it's lower at the borders: that's why i call it a house for hobbits!

Super, en plein coeur du vieux Lisbonne

  • 5 of 5

A recommander .

Michel

ideal für kurzen Aufenthalt

  • 4 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Stefano e Paola

The Moorish quarter is one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Lisbon, which owes its name to the fact that D. Afonso Henriques, after the conquest of Lisbon, have confined one area of the city for Muslims. It was in this neighborhood that remained the Moors after the Christian reconquest. In turn, the Jews were confined to the neighborhoods of the Castle.

In this and the surrounding neighborhoods, originated the first Portuguese Mudejar art productions that would open way for the emergence of the Manueline style, sometimes also called Gothic Portuguese late or flaming, is a decorative style, sculpture and furniture art that developed in the reign of King Manuel I.

The sadness and melancholy of its Arab songs are in the Fado origin. In this neighborhood were born famous singers like Severa, Fernando Maurício and grew Mariza, the most international contemporary Portuguese fado singer.

After the public opening of the Mall of Mouraria in Martim Moniz, the neighborhood has become a quite busy and welcoming place. Currently, the Moorish quarter is a meeting point for people of different cultures and, simultaneously, a site that keeps alive their ancient folk traditions, as confirmed by the existence of several fado houses, bars, taverns and cultural and sports authorities to couple of shops of origin from diverse backgrounds.

The apartment is located just five minutes away on foot, the Metropolitan station Martim Moniz (green line connecting the Portela Airport and Railway Station Santa Apolonia), bus terminals, taxi and the famous tram 28 . In Martim Moniz Square there is underground public parking.

Also a five minute walk are the Martim Moniz squares, Rossio and Restorers and a little later in the Bairro Alto and Chiado, known as local quintessential nightlife.

To the Castle of S. Jorge, Bairro da Graça and Alfama, with its magnificent sights of the city, the path is going up, so it must have 10 to 15 minute walk.

Near the Hobbit House Lisbon, has everything you might need, varied stores, markets and supermarkets, pharmacy, restaurants, bars, terraces hospital, police station, etc.

If you want to go to the beaches of Costa da Caparica using public transport, river terminal Transtejo, is located 20 minutes walk on a pleasant walk along the Tagus estuary. It is also at Cais do Sodré which is located the railway terminal of Cascais giving access to several beaches and the beautiful village of Cascais.

Among the Rossio Square and Restorers have the railway terminal of the Sintra line, beautiful town that deserves a visit.

The Hobbit House Lisbon, has a bedroom with double bed (linen included), living room with sofa bed for two people and can be used with sleeping bags available in the house.

It has a TV room, board games, Wi Fi and a small room attached, very sunny (in fact, as the whole apartment), with balcony and invite relaxation.

The bathroom, very cozy, has a shower with hot shower, hair dryer and towels included.

The kitchen is equipped with ceramic hob, coffee makers and juice, toaster, grinder, microwave, fridge and washing machine. With a beautiful view of the Castle Hill, the evening you can enjoy a beautiful sunset, the sun Lisbon.

The Hobbit House Lisbon, is the top floor of a recently renovated building, in a quiet street, with the very affordable stairs to climb, but may present difficulties for people with reduced mobility. Being a mansard, the right foot is lower than normal and the walls follow the roof slopes, hence the name Hobbit House.
