About George Maynard
Born and raised in the country, love Fannin County! I don't know why we are upside down in the profile picture!
George Maynard purchased this Campsite in 2016
Why George Maynard chose Mineral Bluff
It is a beautiful bit of wilderness just steps away from the Toccoa River. Used to be the community water supply before the City brought water to North Fannin County. Most of Fannin County is National Forest land. These parcels are located near our weekend house.
What makes this Campsite unique
There are only a few campgrounds in the Blue Ridge area. It is a secluded and private camping site with Toccoa river access. This location is completely private- once you book, it blocks all other bookings for your visit.

Camping at its best
Beautiful land and solitude. We were able to hike all day without leaving the camp. I would love to experience this land in the spring when the frogs are abundant. PSA : Our dog wandered off and was lost in the woods for 8 hours - I assumed they could always smell their way back.
Beautiful private place to relax and escape today's hectic lifestyle
We had a great time getting back to nature . George is a great host and answered any questions I had within the same day .. private with just the sound of the stream is just what the doctor ordered. I will definitely be returning
My wife and I brought our 3 sons for a few days. We really enjoyed the property, very quite neighborhood.
Privacy at a guaranteed camping spot
We are always looking for dispersed camping spots to try, but unfortunately, a lot of other people are also. Consequently, we have packed up, driven to North Georgia and had to turn back around to come back home when we couldn’t find a spot. This place is the remedy for that! My only complaint, if there is one, would be the area near the fire pit and spring are mucky (but this was mentioned in reviews so I was aware). The outhouse is a welcome feature, and there are so many supplies in the shelter that this was one of our easiest camping trips.
What an adventure!
The site was very easy to get to and exceeded expectations when we got there. The directions and guidance George gave in his emails was perfect! The pictures online don't do justice to the size of the shelter, though. It even looks smaller than it is when you're there, but once you get inside, holy cow, the amount of space! It rained the first night after we set up camp and, being novice campers, we didn't know or think to tarp over our tents. There were 4 adults, including 2 guys over 6ft, and a teen girl. We had 2 queen and a twin air mattress and put them in the shelter and still had room to walk around. It wasn't cramped at all.
I was honestly a little nervous to camp in such a remote spot, since I am new at camping, but this site is truly perfect for beginners and experts alike, in my opinion. It was so refreshing and relaxing being able to disconnect completely and get in touch with nature.
I'd highly recommend staying here.
We absolutely loved the property. We will be back.
Loved this place.
