Stratton House was originally built in 1800 for a wealthy Packet Ship Captain. Some time later, in the early 1940?s, the house was split into two properties with Stratton House retaining the original formal staircase. Little Stratton was once the kitchen for the main house, where lavish feasts would have been prepared for the wealthy guests upstairs.

Restored to its former glory, the main house is used for occasional holidays by its new owners, with Little Stratton now available as a separate apartment. With its own entrance, plentiful off-road parking and use of the garden, this is a perfect family holiday home.

Little Stratton is located in a quiet residential location just above the Greenbank Hotel. A short stroll away you will find yourself in the centre of Falmouth with its rich choice of restaurants, pubs and bars, and individual shops and galleries.

A flight of steps leads from the parking area down to the private entrance and a useful secure storage area, perfect for bikes, canoes or sailing gear. The accommodation itself has been fully renovated and is in immaculate condition, with all modern conveniences such as central heating and WiFi combined with many original period features.

Once inside the hallway, guests will find space to hang coats and store boots along with a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The open plan living room is flooded with natural light and has views to the garden. This is the hub of the house with bespoke solid wood flooring and a newly fitted high specification kitchen with full height fridge and freezer, dishwasher and Miele oven. Any budding chefs will enjoy cooking the finest Cornish produce here, while the statement dining table and chairs are perfect for holiday dining. The corner sofa faces the flat screen TV with DVD player and Nintendo Wii.

The quirky spa bathroom has a mix of exposed brickwork and floor to ceiling glass tiles, with a huge mirror and a Belfast sink on a solid wood unit. There is also a WC and the bath has a power shower over.

The boutique style master bedroom has a king sized bed and wardrobe, while the second bedroom (originally the generously sized coal store!) has 2 single beds.

Whether you are looking for a luxury retreat for two or a family base from which to explore all of Cornwall, Little Stratton offers a rare opportunity to stay in a newly restored historic house just minutes from Falmouth town centre. The beaches of Falmouth are less than a mile away many offering various water sports while the ferries from the nearby Prince of Wales Pier sail to Flushing, Truro, St Mawes and the Helford River. One well behaved dog is welcome.
