Our family of 4 (children aged 8 & 10) stayed in this lovely apartment in July 2016. It caught our eye because it is literally right across the street from Luxembourg Gardens, nice sized and charmingly appointed. The pictures present the apartment exactly - no disappointments! The apartment served as an excellent launching pad for exploring Paris (with bus and metro close) and Anne, the owner, was a welcoming host and made sure we knew of all local amenities. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
Beginning with our first contact with Anne, our experience was 100% positive. Her directions were very clear, and we had no trouble finding and getting settled into the flat. From there, we were able to walk to the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and more... and Luxembourg Garden is right across the street! The place is absolutely lovely- very clean and charming. We enjoyed the luxury of a bathtub and our own kitchen. Every room was spacious and comfortable. There is plenty of room for a full family, and kids will love the magical upstairs area. We are so grateful for everything, from the wine and snacks waiting for us at arrival to the prompt return of our deposit after our stay. I cannot say enough to fully convey how much we loved this place! If I could give it ten stars, I would. Merci beaucoup, Anne!
We (my teenage daughter and I) thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay (July 2016) in this lovely apartment. The apartment was clean, comfortable and spacious. Anne was kind and thoughtful in many ways, from replying quickly and clearly to inquiries to personally welcoming us with food and drinks to providing "hotel style" toiletries. The building was quiet - we slept comfortably and we did not hear noise from neighbors or the elevator. The apartment remained cool and comfortable even when outside daytime temperatures were up to mid-80sF. The kitchen had everything we needed including a clothes washing machine. The location is across the street from Luxembourg Garden where we enjoyed picnics as well as many pleasant walks through the garden on the way to exploring other sites and neighborhoods in Paris. The nearby highlights included a delicious lunch at Georgette, gelato at Amorino, the unique French-Japanese patisserie Sadaharu Aoki, Sunday organic market (on Boulevard Raspail) and the Zadkine Museum (a free City of Paris museum in the artist's former home and studio just down the street from the apartment). Public transport is easily accessible, but thanks to the apartment's convenient location and good weather we ended up walking everywhere, including to iconic Paris attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, the Pantheon, and the Rodin, Louvre and Pompidou museums. We will recommend Anne's place to friends and would be happy to stay here again.
Anne's home was a dream come true for us. I love it so much. My husband and I brought our 6-month-old and 3-year-old to Paris for a week from our home in Boston. Our trip exceeded our expectations because of this comfortable, convenient, and very lovely home -- and because of Anne's help. She arranged for a baby bed and put a baby gate at the top of the stairs going to the lofted room, where our 3-year-old slept (she loved it). Anne was very quick with communication, so helpful with arranging details for our stay, and very welcoing when we arrived. Ideal host.
Inside the home: it was surprisingly spacious! The bathroom is a generous size (very rare), the tub nice for an end of the day soak, and the washer made it convenient for us to pack light. The home is clean, tidy, and very pleasantly decorated. The fireplace makes the evenings so cozy, and from the soaps to the linens to the fresh flowers, there were lovely touches throughout the home. We cooked a lot, for which the kitchen is set up very well. We really appreciated the elevator, having two kids and a stroller. It is a quiet building, and we all slept soundly.
Location: The apartment is across the street from The Luxembourg Gardens. Google it - it's gorgeous. We enjoyed walking through the expansive gardens, and we couldn't resist the big playground (small fee) and the puppet show. We liked the cafe downstairs on the corner and the grocery store a little more than a (short) block away; and we loved getting sandwiches, bread, and pastries at the bakeries down the block (we kept going back to Boulangerie Julien). Convenient location was in our top two on the priority list, and the location was even more convenient than we realized. A bus took us from right across the street to the Eiffel Tower (and river tour next to it), and we took other nearby buses to Notre Dame and to the Louvre. We liked seeing the city by bus, and it was more convenient with a stroller, but the subway is also a close walk. We walked almost everywhere else, as every street in the area proved worth exploring. Even the tiny ones that didn't look interesting required just looking a little more closely (restaurants on Rue Sainte-Beuve).
It was a most pleasant stay, and I can't imagine finding a better play to stay in Paris.
Our family of four spent a fantastic 10 days in this flat over Christmas break, and without a doubt it was our best-ever stay using VRBO/Homeaway. We had easy and prompt communication with the owner throughout the process, and she was so generous in her welcome to us, leaving a bottle of wine and some canapes and a small Christmas tree! The apt itself is even more spacious than the pictures seem. The upstairs loft is accessed by stairs that are against the wall on your right as you enter. There is no handrail so unless your kids are at least 4 or so it is probably a bit dicey to have them upstairs. Ideally, one person sleeps upstairs, it is a very cute but small loft. Our kids are 9&6 so it worked for them but I don't think two teenagers or tweens could share it, and definitely not two adults. The master bedroom is lovely, with a closet and table on each side of the bed. The bathroom is also great with a soaking tub and showerhead, it looks recently re-done. We had plenty of room for toiletries and it also has an electric rack to dry clothes or towels which was very helpful. The living/dining area are really spacious and gave all of us a 'space' of our own to relax in at the end of the day, we never felt like we were on top of each other. It is the perfect compromise between big enough to have room to host 4 and small enough to keep neat and clean during your stay. But my favorite part is the kitchen! It was equipped with everything we need, which was an absolute first in our experience renting apartments for vacation - we have never stayed at a flat that had adequate plates, knives, cookware, etc. The Senseo coffeemaker was especially nice to have, and we cooked most of our meals for dinner in. The blue tiles, pretty farmhouse sink and butcher block table added to the beauty and fun of the whole apt. The location is also great, right across from the park which even in late December was beautiful and so fun for our kids. They will be talking about the playground for years. There is a Franprix around the corner, multiple Metro lines within 3 blocks walk and a boulangerie, produce shop, flower shop, gelato and multiple cafes within 1 block. This was by far our favorite visit to Paris yet, in no small part due to the great location and homey feel of this apt. We hope to return to Paris in a few years and will try to stay here again if at all possible.
At the corner of the Jardin du Luxembourg, the charm of the Latin Quarter, the excitement of shopping ... Montparnasse 6th arrondissement.
