About the property

Spacious Sea View Apartment - walking distance to town & sea, private parking.

Ideally situated within walking distance of the seafront, shops, bars & restaurants, Little Clovelly is a spacious one bedroom apartment with superb sea and coastal views - ideal for couples looking for a quiet get-away.

The large decked terrace is for your private use and has sea and coastal views. There is a lovely seating area outside and a barbecue. There is also our own large garden which we use when not on the beach but we have no problem if you wish to use it during the day - but we may be in there too! The terrace is all yours.

We are happy to allow dogs (dependent on breed) as long as you bring your own dog bed and blanket - they must sleep only in the lounge area, as we don't allow them in the bedroom. Please contact us directly if you'd like to bring a pet.

There is a kitchen with an oven, hob, fridge\freezer and dishwasher. You can use our washing machine and dryer in the house if required (£4.00 per wash including powder and £1.50 for 40 minutes in the dryer). There is also a TV\DVD player and full gas central heating which is brand new.

It is fully equipped but if there is something in particular that you require please ask us and we will let you know if it is there. Free wi-fi is included in your rental price.

The bed will be made up on your arrival and we will provide all towels excluding Beach Towels. There will also be other amenities for you to use such as deck chairs.

There is private off street parking for one car but if you need more you will need to talk to us and we will do what we can to assist. Parking spaces are an absolute premium in Lyme Regis so this is a must. The great thing about where we are located is that you can walk everywhere in Lyme in no time at all.

It is imperative to us that you have an amazing holiday so we are very honest about our property. if you tell us what you are looking for, we will let you if it suits your requirements.

As we have made sure that we have used the best in everything we would love to invite people who fully appreciate the apartment as if it was their own.

Below is a description of the Flat which gives you full measurements of the property.

LIVING ROOM-23’ x 13’6” (7.01m. x 4.11m.) widening to 14’9” (4.50m.) (views to sea and cliffs) with wide double glazed patio doors to decking area and garden, central archway with one step between two levels, 2 radiators.

BEDROOM-11’4” x 10’7” (3.45m. x 3.23m.) narrowing to 7’6” (2.29m.) (sea and coastal views) Radiator.

SMALL KITCHEN

Laminate worktop with inset electric hob and cooker hood, built-in oven, stainless steel sink unit, base and wall cupboards, radiator.

SHOWER ROOM tiled shower cubicle with ‘Mira Excel’ shower unit, hand basin and w.c., extractor, radiator.

Unless we are on holiday we will be in Lyme Regis for you to call us if you have any issues or need help.

We will also be have B&B rooms, so we can cater for additional guests in these rooms in our main house. Please note that a self-serve continental breakfast is available to our B&B guests, but the apartment is self catering. But do please let us know if you have any special requests - a chilled bottle of wine on arrival, food hamper etc and we will do our best to accommodate, with items being charged at our cost price.

About Ali McLoughlin

We first visited Lyme Regis for a Wedding in September 2013 and came to Lyme Regis for an evening meal and fell in love! Six visits later and five months on we had sold up and invested in Clovelly and Little Clovelly. We love Lyme Regis, and hope you do too - it is a truly special place.

We have dedicated parking and you can be on the beach in a six minute walk, to the pub in two minutes, restaurants, cinema and theatre in no time at all. Just park up your car and forget about it for your stay! Your private decking area is ideal for those evenings when you'd like to sit outside and enjoy a barbeque, and a peaceful glass or two as the sun goes down.

Peaceful holiday flat in good location

We really enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable and well equipped flat. The bed was one of the most comfortable that we have slept in! Lovely views from the balcony and although the weather was iffy, we felt very much at home here. Ali and John were very kind and helpful. Don't forget to visit Ali's juice bar (Dotties) in the town - fabulous smoothies. We had lunch in the French Lieutenant's restaurant which has only been open a few weeks and would recommend it. Lots of cafes and shops and the walking was good too.

Relax and Discover

The house is located in the center of Lyme Regis, with only a few minutes walk to the shops or the beach. From the flat and its east facing terrace one has a very nice view across some part of the town to the sea and the cliffs. The terrace is really nice for having breakfast welcoming the rising sun. The flat itself is has a very nice setup with its separate bedroom, bathroom and living room, which extends to a well-equipped kitchen corner. The flat was perfectly clean, nice and comfortable and all equipment was in good condition. We enjoyed meeting the lovely owners, who gave us a warm welcome, suggested nice ideas and offered any support needed. We had a very good time and can fully recommend "Little Clovelly".

With regard to Lyme Regis, we really enjoyed this nice town. Situated on the slope of hills falling down steeply to the sea, there are many places offering a nice view. There are many little shops, cafes or restaurants being worth to be discovered - like the Town Mill Bakery, a place that could easily be a fancy location in London or Berlin. The seafront is lovely and the beach, which consists of a stony and a sandy part, is beautiful.

Lovely Stay

The property was as described on the Home Away Website, it was very clean and comfortable with a good location just a few minutes walk from the Town and Seafront. We found Ali to be extremely helpful throughout our stay and would not hesitate to return to this accommodation. The decking area outside the flat was a bonus as we were fortunate with the weather and spent a good hour or so sitting out before Breakfast with a coffee watching the sun glistening on the sea in the distance. Nice accommodation, very friendly and helpful owners we were well happy. Thanks Ali and family.

Everything we wanted.

Had a wonderful time.

The location was perfect, everything was a short walk away, we didn't use the car from arriving at Little Clovely until we left.

We enjoyed eating some meals on the terrace to a beautiful view of the sea and coastline.

The property was spotlessly clean, well-maintained and modern.

Ali (and Ella) were very friendly. They left us to our privacy once we had been welcomed and shown around but Ali was always happy to help when called upon for advice and local knowledge. We didn't have any problems with the property during our stay but I was confident that Ali would have sorted anything that might have come up.

I would definitely recommend this place to another couple or a small family. Lyme Regis is quite hilly though so as my girlfriend discovered the hard way; flats not heels :-)

We spent most of the days walking up and down the beach and watching the waves crash into the cobb. It's just a very relaxing, clean and quaint area.

There are a few local bakerys a short walk away for breakfast.

Harry Tate's does a tasty lunch and has the balcony overlooking the cobb and the beach so you can sit and watch the world go by on a nice day.

Ocean View looked nice but didn't open on Monday evenings so we tried Harbour Inn instead which was cosy and had a nice atmosphere.

We look forward to staying at Little Clovely again. Thanks.

Lyme Regis is 'The Pearl of Dorset' and part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Only three hours from London and the Midlands and offers a lot of year round activities and festivals. Lyme Regis is surrounded by amazing countryside and offers an awful lot of places to visit. Its location Devon and Somerset easily accessible and you can also reach our favourite place in Cornwall within two hours. To be honest there is no need to leave Lyme Regis as there is so much to do but you have the option of doing so to see many other places. Even if you do not leave Lyme Regis there is plenty to do. There are many activities regardless of the time of year for a couples getaway.

Lyme is famous for the amazing fossils which you can hunt for yourself along the beach, we have been very successful.

Lyme Regis is a lovely historic Town with lots of shops and restaurants and our very own authentic working Cinema, live Theatre, Museum, Town Mill Brewery, Town Mill Bakery, Art Galleries and so much more.

If eating is your thing there are plenty of good places to eat including the famous Hix Oyster & Fish House and River Cottage is also not far away.

We are surrounded by amazing farm shops, delis, bakeries, fishmongers, markets etc so cooking at home is a delight but with all the temptations of all the eateries you may not want to cook !

The Cobb attracts visitors – not just for its amazing naval architecture but also for its connections with great literature. People come from all over the world to see the steps where Louisa Musgrove fell in Jane Austen’s Persuasion; or to see where Meryl Streep stood, looking forlornly out to sea, in the film adaptation of John Fowles’ The French Lieutenant’s Woman.

Lyme Regis has a micro-climate due to the shelter of the Bay which is why we can experience milder days that other parts of the country. Marine Parade is a great place to walk, sit, enjoy the views and visit its small shops and eating places

There are so many festivals on in Lyme Regis throughout the year and these can all be found at the official town website.

Regardless of the weather Lyme Regis is a totally magical place to visit. The people of the area are so friendly, we have been here throughout January - March and there is always a buzz of activity, it truly is amazing. We also have guests coming down during the winter months to watch the waves crashing over the historic Cobb Harbour - a truly amazing sight!

The added benefit you have with our property is that we look after it ourselves and absolutely passionate about making your break special.
