This fully renovated and remodeled lodge was built in 1903 and was a storage facility for Maloney Store for decades, then was moved across the street in an impressive feat of engineering to become to local movie theater in the late 1930's. In the 1970's the building became once again a local storage facility – you can even see marks on the softwood floors where ice was split before being sent to Seattle on the Great Northern Railroad! Every corner of this lodge tells a fascinating story of the past, and you will enjoy seeing this in visual form on the walls as well, with the historic canvas prints that were hung by the proud owners of Onemish Lodge. ***Guests should note that Skykomish and the North Central Cascades are a historic area for the Great Northern Railroad, built between 1889-1903 by John Frank Stevens, whom Stevens Pass was named for. Trains still pass through the area to this day, creating occasional noise as they pass through town. Most guests find this to be a charming aspect of the home and the area. We provide earplugs as a courtesy for any sensitive guests.***
