Beautiful property in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We were made very welcome by Sandra and Pascal who were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The gite is amazing - clean and well equipped with outstanding views across the ponds of the Somme river. Great area for exploring the battlefield.

Only concern was the stairs which were steep and difficult to come down. And a kettle would have been welcome to make tea. Would certainly return. Many thanks.

Lovely property in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

This is a really delightful property with fantastic views overlooking les étangs de la Barette. Pascal and Sandra are friendly and very helpful and made our stay very pleasant. I was less than enthusiastic about the very steep staircase to the bedrooms and the fact that the toilet and shower are downstairs. However that apart it is a very nice Gite. Lots to see in the surrounding area too.

Beautiful property, beautiful hosts, beautiful scenery, beautiful weather.

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed a week of walking, cycling and visiting the WWI memorial sites. The property itself is very much part of the local heritage and history and is featured in the tourist information in the area. Well appointed and full of Sandra's beautiful artwork the property was very comfortable. Pascal and Sandra were perfect hosts and we were able to make good use of the bicycles along the canal. Close to the very pretty town of Corbie which had 2 supermarkets and a swimming pool. The poppies were in full bloom as we travelled through the picturesque villages in the surrounding area which made it all the more poignant in this Somme region. Glorious!

The property is set in a picturesque and tranquil location

  • 3 of 5

As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by Pascal and Sandra who own the property which is basic but adequate. They were really accommodating and although their English is not 100%, there was still a common understanding throughout our stay. The Gite is located on a quiet road where you can sit outside with a bbq and enjoy the view of the lake. The location is perfect for tourists to visit memorials and museums of the war. The only downsides are the stairs are quite steep to get upstairs to the bedrooms. The toilet and the shower are located away from the bedrooms downstairs and the shower started to smell towards the end of our visit. Apart from that. Very enjoyable stay.

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Pascal and Sandra were wonderful hosts. They were so welcoming. If there was anything we needed they were more than happy to help. Their home is so beautiful. Very clean and beautifully decorated. The art pieces on the walls and in the house were painted by Sandra. She is a very talented artist. We enjoyed admiring her work. Her pieces are so beautiful. They have equipped the house with all the comforts of home. A really well stocked kitchen for cooking and lots of space to enjoy your stay. The views from the house are amazing. There is a little path up the hill behind their property. If you stay here it is worth the short walk up the hill to see the sunrise. My daughter and I woke up early one morning to see it. The sunrise was breathtaking. Dinner or cocoa out on the patio to watch the sunset is very beautiful too. The place is very quiet and just on the edge of Corbie. It is a great location to go and see many different places in France. They have parking if you are renting a car, which we did. Very easy access to the house. We took day trips to Paris, Reims, Rouen, Amiens, Versailles, Belgium and the beaches of Normandy. We had such a wonderful trip and staying with Pascal and Sandra made the trip for us even better. We really hope to visit them again. If you have a chance to book their place you would really enjoy your stay. Thank you again Pascal and Sandra. We loved our visit with you.

Beautiful old house.

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful old house. Water from shower /bathroom had an unpleasant odour.

Sandra and Pascal don't speak English as stated. Had to rely on phone interpreter.

Living area of house was great.
