"Vitamin Sea Suites" are a collection of zero- and one-bedroom cozy condo's that are a stroll from our sandy shores, a short walk to downtown CB, and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!

The space;

Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, our "maximum capacity" and restricted parking options will always limit the number of visitors who can both rent on and visit our Island simultaneously! Although always relative, this provides a bit more elbow room and open space than average for those looking for more “distancing” and privacy than some larger public beaches. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!

The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s (on a large inflatable screen in the middle of the lake!). We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for! * (due to Covid, please be prepared for periodic deviations from our usually scheduled events).

These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world charm, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everyone! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while vacationing with us on our Island!

The entry to this 1 bedroom, 1 bath suite opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!). Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen. *It is important to note that it is NOT an owner’s job to provide personal family items for guests. From toiletries and linens, to community food stuffs and condiments it is ESPECIALLY important during this current climate for any used items of another to be discarded before our new guests arrive to ensure an optimally hygienic space

The unit's ONE QUEEN and ONE TWIN over TWIN bunk bed consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge. Remember, linens are NOT provided to keep your rates low. You can bring them from home with you, buy them locally, or rent them (refer to Seaside Linens & Rentals).

There is one smart TV in each suite to utilize one's personal subscriptions (such as Netflix or Hulu) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach! Bring a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or another such casting device if looking to ensure all the tech comforts from home are available during your stay!

We equip each suite with its own combination of books, games, and misc. accessories to help cover the basis for our guests to enjoy themselves in rain or shine. Sometimes however, these items are removed from the suite and not replaced, and we do not always realize it (tsk tsk!). If you notice something we’ve bragged about missing please let us know!

The outdoor shower is located on the lower right of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!

Guest access;

The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a portion of a respective deck, patio, or balcony.

PARKING: Each guest will have access to (1) ONE 8'x14' assigned parking space. Suite two parks in the main lot off of Lake Park S while suites 3 and 4 must use CB ave S and park atop the property. Guests driving "oversized vehicles" (from SUVs to pickups) may have issues fitting comfortably. Any additional community parking spaces would have availability on a first come first serve basis. We do not recommend any local lot or proprietor.

Neighborhood description
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The building itself is one row away from the ocean, and one row from Carolina Beach Lake. The property is set under a block from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities, and dining. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday night, Movies at the lake each Sunday night, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning (refer to carolinabeach.org for additional info!).

Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

Getting around

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!

After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

Other things to note;

•Salt Water Real Estate has partnered with the absolute best vendors our Island has to offer to help ensure guests can spend more time enjoying themselves and less time researching! Our partners include the Tony Silvagni Surf School for professional surf lessons, bicycle, umbrella, and chair rentals, Salty Dog Yoga, Squared Away Cleaning and Maintenance, TNL Kleans, and Seaside Linen Rentals. Our partners support guests of Salt Water Real Estate with the highest caliber of local services for extremely competitive and oft discounted pricing. They all contribute to the “Salt Water” experience and we <3 them for it!

•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE property unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.

•Linens (sheets, towels, floor towels, pillowcases, etc.) are NOT part of the suite rental. Pillows and basic comforters ARE provided. Please refer to the bedding chart supplied in the booking site description section for a unit’s bed sizes and plan accordingly. We partner with Seaside Linens & Rentals for any guests looking to rent a linen package as opposed to bringing or buying your own. They will deliver directly into the suite in advance of your stay!

• SWRE contractual quiet hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may allow more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all guests, locals, and neighbors alike have an enjoyable experience.

•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!

•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.

Location is amazing. Place is very basic but clean. Make sure you read the expectations and remember them before packing. We got mixed up with some other places we had seen and made some wrong assumptions, but that was our fault. Try the shakes at the veggie place across the street. So good. The beach is so great also

Great communication and location
This house was perfect for our small family of 3. The location was ideal- you can see the beach access just across the road, and on the other side of the street is the Veggie Wagon, a neat little store that sells coffee, milkshakes, sweets, beers on tap, and more. We walked to most restaurants- Hang Ten, Britt’s Donuts, Kate’s Pancake House, Michelangelo's Pizza, all with our toddler in a stroller. We felt very safe the entire trip. The neighbors next door were friendly, the unit shares the front deck with them, but if you want a private outdoor space, there’s a small deck off the kitchen which we enjoyed. I liked that there was a little gated fence separating the road from the house, with a neat outdoor shower to wash off beach gear and feet. The actual house was small, especially the bathroom, but we anticipated that- the pictures depict it well. It was very tidy and clean. Everything was exactly as described in the listing. The best part of this trip though was the communication. The host answered all of my questions promptly, even before the trip. When we arrived the first day, we noticed the ac unit in the living room wasn’t blowing cool air. The host responded almost right away with a number for maintenance, maintenance got back to us early the next morning and sent someone out that day. The ac unit ended up needing to be replaced, which they did promptly. Can’t say enough good things about how well everyone communicated. We definitely recommend!
