|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Romance was on our mind as we designed and built 'Two’s Company'. The only dwelling nestled on the banks of a one and a half acre private lake, this romantic one room suite one bath cabin is all wood inside and out. It includes a king-size bed with a two-person heart-shaped Jacuzzi beside it.
A gas fireplace is in the cozy living room and it has a fully equipped kitchen. From the porch you can walk straight down to the dock or to the grill on the other side.
As soon as you turn in the winding country road tightly hemmed by evergreens you will begin to feel the difference in atmosphere. You have come apart from the rest of the world and this time is just for you.
Surrounding this Tennessee cabin rental is the small Mennonite community of Muddy Pond on The Cumberland Plateau.Located just ten miles north of I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville, you can rendezvous for several days of refreshment or spend your whole vacation here while exploring the beauty of the Cumberland.
Reasons You Should Come:: At the Cabin: Sitting on the porch rockers playing checkers or watching the birds, Relaxing on the swing enjoying the beautiful view, walking down quiet lanes holding hands and talking, Reading good books, Fishing (or pretending to). Our family lives right here in the community of Muddy Pond just 2 1/2 miles. from our 3 cabins. Martin manages a storage shed business part time and is nearby if he's needed. He's a builder by trade and had a lot of fun building the cabins 'from scratch'. He even cut the trees from the 60 acres by the cabin and had a miller come in to saw them. I (Rosanna) am the cheerful family servant around here and wear a lot of different hats. I home school the kiddos and, of course, we all get a lot of experience in the cleaning department since we do our own cabins. We'd love to meet you, come see us!
Rosanna Horst purchased this cabin in 2000
About 10 years ago 60 acres came up for sale just a couple miles back in from our home. We love the area and just can't think of any place we'd rather live, so......We put down a few more roots. The weather in this part of TN is ideal and lots of retirees have moved here on the Cumberland Plateau because of it.
We are also surrounded by natural beauty and the Cumberland Plateau is rich in waterfalls, caves and history.
Absolutely beautiful!!! Please don't change a thing.
We came here on our honeymoon with plans to go places and do things, but once we got to "Two's Company" we just couldn't bring ourselves to leave. Other than a trip to town for groceries and going out to dinner once we never left.. It's so serene and beautiful here we could easily stay longer.
Thank you very much Martin and Rosanna. The cinnamon buns were excellent ! We'll be back if you'll have us :)
This was the perfect cabin for our 19th Anniversary. Complete solitude with a private pond. Very peaceful, lots of fishing, boat to ride around in, loved the heart shaped tub, kitchen very stocked. Owners were wonderful to work with, very pleasant. Towns near by to visit if you want. Would have loved for more local shops to be open through the week as we missed visiting with them. Would highly suggest their properties and we will come back. Thanks for a great 3 days!!!!
This place is private and beautiful. We stayed through ice-snow-fog-sun-sleet all in the same week. It is a wonderful place to stay to just let your mind rest. They provide everything you need (more than any cabin that we have stayed at in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge) It was just great. The owners are so polite and nice. We were surprised as to how close the water was to the porch. My husband fished off the porch when it was raining. Our fishing lines froze one night. The water froze over and was beautiful. They maintain this property so that people enjoy the stay. I was so impressed. We loved our stay and so did our grandson. He loved being able to be outside and run and play without having to worry about traffic. Caught some catfish even though the weather was not cooperative. Would def. recommend for someone to go and unwind and get back to nature. The Lafevers Livingston, TN
My husband and I wanted a nice relaxing second anniversary location. Since my husband and I both love hiking and the outdoors we knew this was the right location. Everything about this was beautiful! One of the best things about it though, is that we had no cell reception! It made for an excellent stress free vacation.
Thanks so much for setting up this amazing location! We are planning on returning in the next few years (this time with an SUV).
Beware E Commercial though, it goes from a 55 to a 30. Tickets are no fun on vacation. Haha.
It was so beautiful time at quiet place.Nice nature and amaizing cabin .we love come back at sumer time.
My husband and I stayed two nights and enjoyed it thouroughly. We sat on the poarch most of the time and enjoyed the beauty of nature. We hope to return soon!
Our stay was amazing! From the minute we walked in the door we were at peace, soft music playing, home baked goody on the table all the little touches made this trip amazing. We spent the days fishing, my wife was the lucky one and made all the catches, star gazing, played some games and rested. We took a drive into the community and visited all the shops, everyone was very friendly. If you get a chance purchase a fried pie... you'll want to take some home. So good! We enjoyed walking around the property and enjoying the beauty that surrounded us. We also had a visit from a cat while there, she loved sitting in our laps while we rocked on the porch... she even tried to help us fish. We couldn't have asked for more, this was the perfect getaway and we can't wait to return.
You can shop in nearby Cookville or Crossville but we live in & the cabin rental is surrounded by the small Mennonite community of Muddy Pond. There are unique shops & good eating at the General Store, & Country Porch. Horse lovers will enjoy the Leather Shops & nature lovers will appreciate the serenity & natural beauty that are all around. In the fall, watch the old time sorghum mills operate. If you're staying for a bit, you may want to go farther afield to the Big South Fork which offers: Horseback Riding, Fishing, White Water Rafting and Hiking; or to Fall Creek Falls, Picket & Cumberland State parks which have: Scenic Trails, Swimming and Boating; Local Wineries, Historic Sights of the Cordell Hull birthplace, Alvin York home place or historic Rugby. Crossville offers golfing and the famous Playhouse. The Cumberland is alive with history & beauty. It's a place to relax & reflect & become acquainted with the real Tennessee. Step back to a simpler time & create a precious memory
Other Activities: The most important activity at the cabin is relaxing
Golf: Crossville Tn is considered the golf capital of TN. I don't know a thing about it :) but it's not far away if you want to go.
