About Tom and Kathy Brinton
Kathy grew up in Florida, but often camped in North Carolina with her family during the summer. She had also camped and hiked part of the Appalachian Trail with the Girl Scouts. Tom was born in Arkansas, but grew up in Colorado where he enjoyed camping, hiking, and snow skiing. During our two boys childhoods we rented various vacation homes in the mountains of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee in order to give them some of the same wonderful mountain woods experiences we had grown up with. When the opportunity arose, we purchased this property as our own mountain retreat.
Tom and Kathy Brinton purchased this House in 2008
Why Tom and Kathy Brinton chose Hendersonville
We chose this property as a vacation home for its beautiful mountain setting and location.

Getting away from it all
Second time coming back, we love this place. We will definitely come back again. Be safe everyone!
Great Get Away
My family really enjoyed staying here we would stay again. The house was very clean and well kept. The only thing is the driveway coming to the house. The first time driving up is pretty hard, but take your time going up and you should be fine. The land is beautiful my kids and dog loved all the space to run around. The owners were great and easy to work with. We had a great stay
Had a wonderful time in this great house up the hills! Place felt secluded, but not far from town at all. The place was clean and furnished tastefully. House was stocked as well, having a washer and dryer is always great. Check-in and check-out is straightforward and easy. Our dogs had a great time checking out the surrounding property (it was huge!). The weather was clear during our stay which made for great stargazing during the dark nights. I do recommend having a truck or an SUV to get to the house because of the dirt road leading up to it, we came ready and actually loved driving the SUV like a boss. We love this place and we will come back! Thank you for sharing this wonderful home.
Beautiful secluded cabin
This was the perfect spot for our family. We enjoyed the firepit roasting hot dogs and smores. Our 3 year old didn't want to leave. We will definitely be going back.
Great house, NOT a great driveway
The house is nicer than the pictures appear even—super clean, well stocked kitchen, beautiful yard, very peaceful and serene. The house worked nicely for our family of five (baby and two toddlers). Our baby slept in the master closet in a pack n play.
However, our complaint was with the accuracy of the description of the driveway. My husband has grown up off roading and said that rather than a “gravel road” as described, it is more like a four wheeling path. He said that he would have been legitimately upset had we been driving a nicer car (we drove our van). We were very thankful that we only had rain on the morning that we were leaving. It takes about 7-8 mins of very careful, somewhat treacherous driving to get up the hill to the house. We would recommend not staying in this house unless if you are in a Subaru, Jeep, or large SUV/truck that is high off the ground. For this reason, we would not stay here again. I hate to say that because the house really was nice, and Kathy was very responsive and easy to work with.
Great house! VERY secluded. Definitely need an SUV to get up the road. Recommend it highly!!
