This home is located waterfront on an intercoastal channel and is 1 block from the gulf beach. It has been completely updated and newly furnished in the past 2 years. Bedrooms include king bed in master and two twins in 2nd. Living room has a pull out queen sleeper sofa. Private dock supports 40' boat and fishing. Inground heated pool and patio with furniture overlooking the waterway. Home also has digital cable, digital unlimited phone and WIRELESS high speed internet.
Wow, the other glowing reviews were right! My husband and I (mid 50’s) and our three young adult children (ages 18-25) had a wonderful stay at the house. Very comfortable, great location. Owner was great to work with. Very responsive--typically replied to emails within the day.
Daughters shared the second bedroom with twin beds, and son stayed on the pull out sofa bed (he said it was quite comfortable). Even with five adults, there was enough space; we even kept a jigsaw puzzle going all week on the dining table. There was room to get away when you wanted to read a book or stretch out, and the beautiful ocean beach was less than 5 minute walk away. The back deck/pool area were perfect and enjoyed by all; son and hubby fished with the owner-supplied fishing rod, and daughters I read books and sunbathed (yes, even in December—the weather was beautiful). We made dinner one night out of the fish caught off the back deck. The pool is solar heated, so it can’t stay very warm in winter, but it was warm enough for a nice refreshing dip.
The unit was nicely equipped— plenty of dishes, wine glasses, pots, knives, towels, bedding, etc., along with fishing poles and board games (we left behind two jigsaw puzzles for future guests). Winn-Dixie is an easy walk away. We used the washer/dryer and dishwasher with no problems at all. The pictures don’t do it justice, because some of them were taken “pre-update.” The new dark counters look beautiful (not the white counters that appear in some of the earlier pictures), and the TVs are modern flat screen (not the larger models you see in some of the pictures). The shrubbery has grown up a lot around the pool, and the interior décor is updated, including more seating in living area than appears in the pictures. Of course, the photos might be updated by the time you read this!
It’s located on a quiet part of the coast, but close enough to activity. Several places to rent a power boat, several nice restaurants close by. Sidenote: We went to Pier 61 sunset events, and SO GLAD we didn’t stay in Clearwater Beach! Madeira Beach is much more peaceful, and less crowded and touristy.
We travel to the area often and this is the 1st time we have opted for a private home...but it will NOT be the last!! Pete's home was the perfect escape from the real world, everything that you could possibly need was right there. The pool was my favorite part, plenty of sunshine, privacy and no splashing kids. We spent a lot of time just hanging out in the backyard and fishing off the dock. There are several restaurants and bars within walking distance, The Brown Boxer was our favorite. I highly recommend this home for your next trip to the Gulf Coast. Pete was a pleasure to work with, very friendly and quick to respond. We will be back :)
Me and my dog Bo loved our home away from home. Spacious and in a quiet/friendly neighborhood. Super comfy bed, large flat screen tv's if you ever need to turn them on, full kitchen, great AC unit, nice pool, great view, superb landscaping, awesome fishing dock/water access, clean and the list goes on and on. Very short walk to beach and many great resturants and short drive to many other great places. Extremely friendly owner that helped in many ways. Came here for a job but would very seriously consider coming back and wouldn't hesitate staying here again. I looked at pet friendly places for over a week and this one was my favorite and glad I spent the extra money on this one because you definitly get what you pay for.
Had a great time at Pete's place :-) We definitely want to return some time. Everything was in order, clean, convenient to most everything. Thanks, Pete.

Reviews like this are basically worthless unless they are written with complete honesty and sincerity... a truthful balance of the positive and the negative.
With that premise in mind I have given this review a lot of careful thought and try as I might, I can't find a single negative comment to make about this house.
I think I must begin with a sincere fanfare of appreciation for the management company / cleaner who, as I understand it look after the property as the owner lives out of state.
When we arrived, tired after a 16 hour drive, the house was cool, immaculately clean and everything smelled fresh. A quick look through the closets and kitchen cupboards revealed a more than an ample supply of beach, pool and bath towells, clean spare sheets and absolutely everything you would need in a kitchen to cook a quick snack, breakfast or a gourmet supper.
The pool was chrystal clear, the fishing dock and patio areas spotless and although we had taken our own fishing gear there were even several rods and a tackle box.
We know the area very well, but if you don't , the location of the property is perfect..really.. a two minute walk from the beach where you can hire a canopy and two beach beds for $10 a day.
There are bait shops and a Publix grocery store a five minute drive away as well as a plethora of small independant restaurants.. some within a short walking distance of the house.
We were a very diverse family in terms of age range, a five year old, a teenager, a couple in their 30 s and of course us, the 50 something grandparents and naturally our holiday needs were as diverse as our years.
So, when the kids went off to play crazy golf just down the road, my husband and I sat on the dock, a sundowner in our hands, reeling in more catfish than we could shake a stick at and occasionally cooling off in the pool. Heaven.
I know, before we booked this house, we paid very careful attention to all the reviews, but until you see it for yourself it is difficult to judge whether other people's expectations are the same as ones own.
All I can say is this property was more than we expected...much more. It's not flashy, it's not glitzy but it is beautiful in a priviledged location and I would not hesitate for a second to recommend it to others.
We have taken away some wonderful memories from it which will stay with us all our lives....I hope you will too.
