About Sarah and John Dixon

We are a young English family who have holidayed in Provence for years and liked it so much we bought a home here.

Sarah and John Dixon purchased this house in 2012

Why Sarah and John Dixon chose Alpilles

The clear blue sky, stars at night, wonderful food and wine produced locally, the friendly people, and so many amenities within the town of St Remy, the amazing history of this area, and above all the climate and lifestyle provides lifetime memories every vacation. This is our family holiday home - we hope you love it as much as we do

What makes this house unique

We love relaxing by the pool, sitting in the shade and reading a book. Wednesday market is a must - fresh produce for the week - we cook at home and enjoy with some local wine of course. In the afternoons we walk into town and enjoy the seasonal activities. We can walk from our home up through the Alpilles; there are so many routes and we admire the landscape as Cezanne and Van Gogh did. We visit the many nearby villages and dine out in so many excellant local eateries - on our return we sit back and relax in our beautiful home and enjoy some local digestifs!

Relaxing and beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful, homely, spacious villa set just a short walk away from the town, tastefully decorated and surrounded with beautiful trees and gardens. The villa is absolutely stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly house keeper who showed us round and we were overwhelmed with the character and space the villa provides as well as the high standards of cleanliness! The nearest town is 15-20mins walk away filled with elegant shops and a wide selection of restaurants, from bistros to brasseries to coffee shops and wine bars - the choice was endless.

Our stay completely exceeded our expectations and we would recommend this villa again and again, especially if you're looking for a fun-filled family holiday. Relaxing and beautiful!

a lovely place

  • 5 of 5

We spent two wonderful summer weeks in Saint Remy. The house was large, well maintained, and decorated with very good taste. The rooms had comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms. There was a large living space, a wonderful swimming pool, and a beautiful garden.

The air conditioning worked perfectly well.

The covered lunch / dinner patio outside the house, between the garden and the pool, was particularly pleasant with its barbecue corner.

We of course did enjoy the marvelous region, with so many things to see and do around.

We felt welcome, and everything went smoothly.

We hope to be able to come back to Saint Rémy.

Fantastic house in the beautiful village of St Remy

  • 5 of 5

Had a fantastic holiday in St Remy. The house was beautiful, plenty of space, really well equipped and furnished to a really high standard. Outside there are two large patios with dinning tables and chairs which overlook the pool. Whether your having dinner watching the stunning sun set or just watching the kids in the pool and gardens, it's a wonderful setting. The pretty village of St Remy is only a walk away and is full of quaint narrow streets with beautiful shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend the house, we've already booked for next year!

A great house in beautiful St Remy

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful house positioned in close proximity to St Remy with its great restaurants and shops. Further afield there is much to see and do in the region for days out. The house is set in a quiet location with a lovely garden and pool area to relax in. The covered outdoor dining area is large and airy and is a great spot for a quiet breakfast or more lively dinner. The interior is fitted out to the highest standard and all of the bedrooms and bathrooms are of a good size. Overall I would highly recommend this property and the St Remy area.

Wonderful House in Provence

  • 5 of 5

We are an extended family group of 10, ranging in age from 15 to 80. We all loved the house. It is beautiful, comfortable, and full of charm. The layout and space met our needs perfectly. We particularly loved the big kitchen, the dining table under the arbor outside, and the delightful pool. It is in a great area, full of charming villages and towns to explore. We hope to return.

The best in St Remy

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent 3 weeks in this beautiful home while enjoying all of the wonderful joys and experiences of Provence. Having rented vacation homes for 30 years we can unequivocally report that this was our best home rental experience. The house is spacious, the kitchen is stupendous and the pool and outdoor area provides an oasis following a day of visiting one of the charming villages of Provence or the Luberon. The location is about as good as it gets, whether you are walking into St Remy, visiting vineyards and wineries, exploring Roman ruins, dining at enjoyable restaurants or driving 10-40 minutes to shop at one of the daily markets in a dozen nearby towns.

When you add to this the ease of working with Sarah you will have a very, very special experience and vacation.
