One of the best locations in La Torre Golf Resort, with a fabulous swimming pool and amazing views (front and back). Situated at the edge of the resort, the apartment is in a quiet location but still only 5-6 minutes walk from the bars, restaurants and golf club.
The property is centrally heated , with air conditioning in the living area and both bedrooms (note that the bedroom A/C units are being installed this Spring 2016). There is a fully equipped kitchen, with large fridge freezer, dishwasher, 4 ring electric hob, oven and washing machine. In the lounge there is a good-quality 3-seater soft leather settee and two comfortable chairs, flat screen TV with satellite decoder (English channels), DVD player and powered speakers for an MP3 player. Free wifi will also be available from early 2016.
The dining area is situated between the lounge and the front terrace and has seating for four. There is also a dining table on the terrace with seating for four.
There are 2 double bedrooms with high-quality English beds, both of which can be configured as twins if desired. Both bedrooms are equipped with a good-sized mirror, convenient power-points and a small dressing table. Both rooms have access through double-doors to the rear terrace, which offers far-reaching views across open country-side all the way to the Mar Manor (approx. 20 km away).
The rear balcony/terrace is equipped with a small table and two chairs, and is a great place to sit and enjoy the morning sun.
There is a large terrace accessible from the lounge, with with 4 fold-away, lightweight sun loungers (which can also be carried to the beach if required). The pool and town centre (in the far distance) are all illuminated at night, making the terrace a wonderful place to relax in the evenings.
The resort hosts a number of bars and restaurants (including a good Italian for pasta and pizzas), which are all within an easy 5-10 walk. There is a well-stocked (and reasonably priced) supermarket close the to resort entrance, offering freshly baked baguettes, fresh vegetables, and most things you'll need. You can walk to it in 10 minutes (along safe paths and pavements) or drive in 2-3 mins.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor and has direct lift access from the underground car park (i.e. car to door in less than 10 paces !).
We bought the apartment off-plan in 2006 when our 2 children were still quite young (7 and 9). Since then we've enjoyed many holidays and short breaks at La Torre and it's been a great base to explore Spain.
Until 2014 we've mainly let the apartment to family and friends, but now that the children are almost grown up we've decided to advertise. We hope you'll like it.

Our apartment was one of the first properties to be built in the resort and benefits from the best views (front and back), the best pool and being an ideal distance away from the town centre.
The penthouse apartment is on the 3rd floor and has a private landing at the top of the stairs and lift. We have a dedicated underground parking space right next to the lift entrance, so access couldn't be any easier.
We had a short break here in early April. On arrival we were very grateful to find the heating on as it was cold and wet outside! Thankfully the sun soon came out and we were able to explore the area, a car is essential here. Good road down to the coast and there are some lovely clean beaches to enjoy. All have a good selection of cafés and bars, but not too rowdy.
Only the Italian restaurant and the pub were open on site but there are some good places to eat at short drive away as recommended by Lynn. Also the Spar shop on site is really good with an extensive choice for those self catering. The kitchen in the flat has everything you need for home cooking.
The bed we slept in was first class, so comfortable, the best we had slept for many years when we have been on s/catering holidays

The pool far too cold to try out in April, but it is sparklingly clean, we watched it being cleaned every day.

We had a lovely three week break in this penthouse apartment and thoroughly enjoyed it. As a family of four, with two teenagers, it was perfect for us and very good value for money. The apartment is just as it is shown in the photos and was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would ever need and a good supply of towels and beach towels were provided. The pool area was lovely and kept very clean, although it can get busy in high season.
A car is definitely essential if you plan on leaving the resort and it is a bit of a drive to local beaches, however most of them are well worth it. The choice of restaurants and activities on the resort was limited, but there are many restaurants in the surrounding area.
Lynn was extremely helpful and accommodating making the booking process very easy, providing great directions and information on the surrounding area. Our deposit was returned quickly after arriving home.
I would highly recommend this apartment for couples or families and would definitely consider returning here sometime.
Having just arrived back from a wonderful 14 night stay in this fantastic penthouse apartment, we could not recommend this enough.
The pics are very true in showing exactly how the apartment is maintained.
Pool is very refreshing almost freezing! ! Good amenities on site with the local spar shop, just a gentle 10 min stroll away, the local beach is around 15 mins away, so a car is advisable, with plenty of restaurants around this area as well.
We would definitely go back and after renting other apartments this is one of the nicest we have stayed in. The whole process of the holiday was made very smooth and clear, from the directions, to the info folder at the property making it easy to navigate our way round. Many thanks to John and Lynn.

Murcia is one of the most beautiful unspoilt regions of Spain, boasting 320 days of sunshine throughout the year and an average temperature of 21c. Murcia city itself is an architecturally striking cosmopolitan city with a rich and colourful history. It has an excellent range of shops, bars and restaurants and hosts numerous grand festivals through-out the year.
If you enjoy golf then there's a wide choice of 1st-class courses to choose from, with at least 4 within a 10 minute drive from the resort (not to mention the Nicklaus-designed 18-hole course at La Torre itself).
The sandy beaches of the Mar Menor bay are just 15 minutes drive away, with sea temperatures typically 3 degrees warmer than the rest of the Mediterranean. The bay is considered the best place to practise water sports throughout the year and offers many endless unspoilt tranquil beaches and fishing ports.
Los Acazares has a 9 km stretch of sand with a 5km promenade. Nearby is the Infanta Cristina Sports Centre where many famous elite sportsmen and women in the world of waters sports come to train.
The region is mountainous towards the West, yielding to farmland and huge orange groves to the East and South. There are nature reserves, beauty spots, walking trails and hot springs to enjoy (with thermal swimming pools at 37c).
The nearest water-park and zoo can be found at Murcia (40 mins drive). Balsicas station is 4km away with trains to Madrid, Murcia City or Cartagena. Alicante is just 70 mins drive away, providing a second option for air travel.
The resort has its own bars and restaurants, but there's also a wide choice close to the resort in and around the town of Balsicas, which is just 5 minutes drive away.
There is a great supermarket in the resort, where you can buy freshly baked bread and all your weekly shopping at reasonable prices. It's a pleasant 8-10 minute stroll from the apartment, or a 3 minutes drive away.
