DELUXE BEACH VILLA COOK is the best among Robinson's Cove Private beach Villas, located along a small beach in the world-famous Opunohu bay in Moorea island.

LAYOUT: Villa Cook accounts 3 bedrooms (2 double bedrooms with A/C, the 3rd bedroom is a mezzanine for up to 4p), 2 bathrooms with spacious showers, 1 large lounge, 1 equipped kitchen, 1 large covered lanai.

EQUIPMENT: This is a Deluxe Villa with full amenities (washing machine, dryer, etc) with large glass sliding doors all around. The covered lanai opens right on the beach as well as the master bedroom. Each villa has a kitchen with large refrigerator/freezer, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Most also have a TV and DVD player. Free Wi-Fi and hot water are included, as well as free kayaks and snorkeling equipment.

ON-SITE CONCIERGE: in Robinson's Cove Villas there is a property manager acting as a concierge. She lives in her own bungalow within the property and will help you for any inquiry or leisure activity you might wish.

CAR / MINI-VAN: a car is advisable for food shopping and restaurants located 10 min drive away:

- we advise to book a Sedan car (A/C, 5 seats)

- or to book a Mini-van (A/C, 7 seats)

Beautiful little house, a little worn at the edges for the price but tons of charm

Overall we were very pleased with the house, the location and especially the attentiveness of the owner and the manager when it came to all aspects of the rental. The kitchen was well-stocked and the indoor/outdoor flow of the property made it feel bigger than it really is. Thoughtful touches throughout -- like ample lighting and not one, but two outdoor showers really take advantage of the locale. Even when it rained -- which it did quite a bit -- the house never felt cramped. For the price -- which is on the higher side for houses on the island -- the house definitely wanted for a few things. First, the second bedroom is pretty small and if two couples were thinking of renting the house, there is a HUGE disparity between the bedrooms. The house is better suited for one family. The bathroom situation is a little funky -- with the bathroom inside the house being VERY small and hard to share and the nicer, bigger bathroom partially outside so you need to use a code in the door to get back in after using it. Not a huge inconvenience, but definitely a weird trick of the layout and we ended up with our entire group using the more convenient, much smaller bathroom without much room for towels, toiletries, etc. If you are bothered by bugs -- be forewarned -- the property is on the bay and there is lots of foliage so at certain hours there were TONS of bugs. Didn't really bother us but I could see how certain types of people might find it unpleasant to be outside during certain times. That said, we ate all our meals outside and just dealt with it.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your review. We built (and enhanced) this house in different phases and indeed you can tell! We started with a rather small house on which we added many modern features, including a second bedroom and a second outdoor bathroom, and we ended up with a Boutique property with several beach Villas. As you rightly mention, this house is very open and when all glazed aluminum windows are open you don't always know if you are indoor or outdoor thanks to the large decks surrounding the whole house. This is actually how Polynesian people live (you can find this type of layout in some Australian houses), half inside, half outside, with many different entries. For large groups or for a "proper" 3rd bedroom, we advise to get an additonal Villa or bungalow in our Boutique property. If you like "cooker cutter" houses (which all look the same), then you might be rather disappointed in our property! Regarding the price, our Villas are situated in one of the most amazing spot in Moorea, with a private beach, a concierge living on site (and that makes the whole difference!), and with a stunning environment with Avatar-like mountains all around... actually the Shark tooth shaped mountain in the backdrop of the Opunohu bay is even engraved on the official Polynesian coin! Quite a breathtaking view when you snorkel! We hope you will return soon in our paradise. Kind regards, the management.

High privacy in an marvellous spot

We (4 adults and 2 children - 6 and 8 years old) spent 4 nights in this spacious villa based on a incredible spot, the majestic Opunohu Bay in Moorea.

With it's small private beach, and it's huge slidding bay windows, it's like that there is no partition between inside and outside and this feeling is reinforced with the two classy external bathrooms. The Cook villa is very well located and close to a lot of activities, and kayaking and paddling at sunset and/or sunrise in the still water of the bay was enchanting ! Alix, the concierge is always available and ready to help when needed.

Location

ACTIVITIES

Snorkeling / Diving / Lagoon: the beach is right in front of the villas and opens on the calm lagoon waters. 20 meters away (60 ft), there is a drop off, home of many sea species, which lets you snorkel in full safety among the fishes only a few dozen yards from the Villas. There are no big waves because this place is very protected in the bay, so this is excellent for snorkeling and for children!

Diving: There are many scuba diving centers in Moorea which is famous for its diving spots.

Excursions on the Lagoon: Whether a boat ride to tour the island or an encounter with whales and dolphins, or water skiing at sunset, many leisure providers are at your service.

Power Boats: There is a small 6HP boat at the property for rent without a license, which is ideal to discover the lagoon. Book it in advance to ensure availability!

Surfing: The Opunohu Pass lets you surf on small waves. Watch out, however, for currents. The easiest and safest way is to do it with a provider who will take you to the best spots with his boat.

Horseback Riding: A ranch (only 10 minutes by car) is located in the Opunohu Valley for memorable rides in a spectacular scenery made of peaks and lagoons.

4WD and Quad bike: For those who prefer the comfort of a motor vehicle, a discovery of the hidden paths and breathtaking peaks can be done in a Jeep or in Quad ATV motorcycle.

Hiking: On the mountainside or throughout the tropical jungle, there is nothing like hiking, with or without a guide! Marathons, triathlons, etc. are regularly organized by the Te Moorea Sports Association.

Golf: The Moorea Golf Course is 15 minutes drive away, near the airport.

Spa : Several Spas are located in Moorea Island, including Helen'Spa, who created the first Tahitian Spa in 1999, ranked among the most beautiful spas in the world.

The Hilton is the closest Resort from Robinson's Cove Villas, only 3 min drive away.
