Francois Jourdan's home in Arles is a spacious, modernized home in the old city. You are surrounded by old, elegant stonework everywhere you turn in the old city. We had a large, comfortable bedroom, and our granddaughter had a somewhat smaller bedroom, but also quite comfortable. Both were air conditioned. We could use the downstairs kitchen to make some dinners. M. Jourdan's daughter was there to prepare breakfast each morning and she was warm and welcoming and a font of information about the city and surrounding area for sightseeing. I would highly recommend this home.
Francois was the epitome of a wonderful B&B host!! And the property was beautiful, clean, comfortable and well located for exploring Arles on foot. Highly recommend!!
We were welcomed to this lovely house by a family friend of Francois as he couldn't be there on the day of our arrival... which turned out to be an opportunity for us to meet another special person... she and gave us good advice on things to see and do and even helped us plan our sightseeing trips. We were served a beautiful breakfast every morning and the house was always clean and tidy. When Francois returned he was quick to make sure we were happy with our stay. He is a kind and sincere man who we enjoyed spending our short stay with. We felt very welcome and looked after in this 'home' away from home and would recommend staying here to anyone visiting Arles.
This vacation to France was our first try at staying in rental apartments and guest houses instead of hotels, so we weren't exactly sure what to expect. This listing was very appealing to us due to a great location, and it looked modern and updated. After my initial inquiry, the owner Francois was very quick with his responses to my questions. I felt confident that his house would be a great choice for us. We were very surprised when he sent an email telling us that he would meet us at the train station in Arles to pick us up! So very helpful when you've spent the day on the train and are a little weary.
Francois is such a friendly, personable guy. He is very fluent in English which we found especially helpful since we speak very minimal French. He gave us maps, recommendations, and great advice about the area. We were treated to wonderful coffee, fresh baguette and brioche each morning along with homemade preserves, served on his private patio. Our room was very large and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom ensuite. The only thing that at first seemed funny to us is that the toilet is across the hall, but it is so close and was never a problem. Americans are just not used to what is very normal to Europeans. Our stay was wonderful, and I have to mention that Arles is full of restaurants, one of the very best being literally a stride away from the front door of Francois' house! We loved our time in Arles and highly recommend staying with Francois!
Perfect location for exploring Arles. Wonderful host willing to help plan your stay. The rooms were clean and spacious.
