We have been farming Incheoch since 1994 and the Granary was a disused building that we lovingly converted to a holiday house in 2012, our first guests were in February 2013. We are beef and sheep farmers in the picturesque Angus Glens.
Debbie McGowan purchased this farmhouse in 2012
The Granary has stunning views and is very peaceful, watch the roe deer and red squirrels from your window or bring binoculars to view our visiting Osprey. We have RSBP maps available for you to check up on the wildlife. Why not walk the Cateran trail which passes through our Farm. Lovely walks around the area coffee/farm shop only 2 miles away.
This Cottage is well located near a beautiful Waterfall with stunning standards’. We were met with egg and milk on arrival and the owner is really friendly and obliging.
The place is modern and spotlessly clean and all modern amenities are there with working farm outside.
Had a gorgeous sunshine touching you through modern glass roof and large windows and local shops are close by as well.
Very friendly bookings with repeated checking and reassurance will recommend to any one looking for flawless holiday cottage.
The perfect place in the beautiful land. I will definitely be back
Our time at inchoech granary was Awesome as my grandchildren would say the standard was top notch everything up to a high standard it was so good we are going again next year taking the grandchildren to experience the working Farm & it's surroundings of Bonnie Scotland.
Our stay was superb....we had a great time in the cottage. Debbie the owner is a very lovely person. If u want a peaceful holiday book this is the one to go...
Was able to arrange a very last minute birthday break away & owners were very accommodating with our check in time (due to travelling a great distance). Very well stocked holiday property. Lovely & warm & welcoming. Plenty of games & DVDs to keep everyone entertained. Loved the train set!! Thank you
Fantastic property, well appointed in a beautiful location. The property is at the entrance of a working farm with minimal noise. Whilst we were staying the calves were being moved and made some noise but nothing you would not expect in the country. The property is well appointed, nicely decorated with plenty of space for the family.
My family had a wonderful stay at the farm. I would recommend this home to anyone. The owners were warm and very helpful. I would stay here, again.
We rented the villa for 4 adults and 4 children (2 to 9 years).
The environment was very much appreciated. The house was very clean and we were warm welcomed by Debbie.
The house is very well equipped especially for children with games, puzzles, DVD, Bicycle for 2 - 7 years (it's a pity that we did not find the pump to reinflate the tires), bed, Dishes and babychair. The house has 3 well equipped bathrooms.
During our week of holidays in Incheoch Granary, we especially sought to make activities that the children could like: Aquarium of St Andrews, dundee science center, swimming pool of Perth.
We also went to see the park of the deer with farm house and the cascade as well as the tank.
We visited the Glamis Castle: It's a pity that the visit was only in English. The park is very nice with games for the children.
Generally, in Scotland, the equipment for children are available everywhere: In the restaurants, colourings are provided and games are placed at the disposal. In the monuments to visite, there is generally parks of games in the vicinity. This is not also developed in France.
Lastly, we adored Highlands Games which we discovered in Aberfeldy.
We recommend this area and Incheoch farm to spend holidays.
Immersed in spectacular scenery and on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park, the granary is within easy access of Glenshee, Kirriemuir, Blairgowrie and Alyth. Nearby activities include hillwalking, skiing, golf, fishing, horse-riding, shooting, bird watching, mountain biking, castles and sightseeing. Situated on the Perthshire / Angus border, the cottage is within half hour drive of Dundee or Perth and is an ideal base for visiting Perthshire, Angus, Fife and the Highlands. The historic towns of Pitlochry, Dunkeld, Forfar and Braemar are also within easy reach.
Glenisla is a paradise for hikers, ramblers and mountain bikers with the circular Cateran Trail passing by the cottage door. The Cateran Trail is a fully waymarked walk of 64 miles (103 km) that lies at the heart of Scotland. The Trail takes its name from the feared cattle thieves who raided the rich lands of Strathardle, Glenshee and Glen Isla. The neighbouring Angus glens of Glen Clova, Glen Prosen, Glen Doll and Glen Esk also offer numerous Munros and trails.
Skiing is available at Glenshee Ski Resort (16 miles). Glenshee Ski Centre offers the UK's most extensive skiing and snowboarding facilities with an impressive 22 lifts and 36 runs offering an amazing diversity of natural terrain for all standards of skiers and snowboarders. Glenshee Ski Centre is the largest ski resort in Scotland and is sometimes referred to as the Scottish three valleys.
Horse riding is available at nearby Glenmarkie Riding Centre (8 miles). Enjoy trekking, lessons or hacks surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
Golf is abundant on this Angus / Perthshire border with Glenisla, Alyth, Strathmore, Rosemount and Kirriemuir Golf Clubs all within 15 minutes drive. Carnoustie, Gleneagles and the Fife golf clubs of St Andrews, Kingsbarns, the Old Course, Balcomie and Elie are also within easy reach for a day trip.
Excellent salmon river and trout loch fishing is on offer in numerous locations nearby. Permits can be bought for Lintrathen Loch (2 miles) which is boat fishing only, has twenty two boats and is stocked on a regular basis with both brown and rainbow trout. Lintrathen gives the angler a feeling of peace and tranquillity as well as the excitement of catching quality fish. The Backwater, situated higher up the glen gives the purist a chance to fly fish the banks for wonderful wild brown trout with an average weight of eight ounces. Both lochs are regularly visited by clubs and individual anglers from the furthest points in the country and Lintrathen has been a venue for the Commonwealth Championship.
Castles are a plenty in this area. Glamis Castle, birthplace of the Queen Mother is a short distance and is an excellent day out. Balmoral Castle and Scone Palace are also worth a visit.
