What makes this House unique
This home is very secluded, yet less than half a mile from a well traveled secondary road. Just 15 miles NE of Mount Airy, NC (Mayberry), with it's festivals, great restaurants and shopping. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 6 to 7 miles from the house . The Claudville entrance to Primland Resort with fine dining and world class golf course is just a 3 mile drive.

Beautiful Country Home
We had a wonderful time at Estelle's Dan River House! We traveled from Florida to enjoy spring break in the mountains and introduce our newly adopted twins to my husband's family who lives nearby. Estelle went above and beyond to make sure that the home was perfect for us. She provided a crib and pack-n-plays, and the babies loved the toys and books she left for us. (The giant bead maze was a huge hit!) We bought groceries and did some sight-seeing in Mt. Airy. We spent a day exploring the kids' museums in Winston-Salem. Our older kids had the most fun, though, the day that we spent at the home, exploring the property and letting them "fish" in the river. The older buildings on the property, the river and the bridge make perfect photo backdrops, too! Bring your good camera! We can't wait to visit again. Thank you so much, Estelle!
Spring Break Perfect Quiet Mountain Living with River
We chose the Dan river house for the location. Everything was perfect , Mrs. Estelle, had everything we needed, except food, ready for our arrival. The house was clean and as described. We made the short trip (15 miles) to MT. Airy to grab groceries for a few days. We prefer to cook and the house has all the modern appliances and grill. Mt. Airy has all the restaurants and stores of a big town. We made a trip to Winston-salem (about an hour trip) and another 25 mins over to Greensboro, Four lane roads all the way from Mt.Airy. Everyone enjoyed spending time outside exploring the river and walking the property, watching turkeys and deer in the field between the house and river. We will return as soon as possible and hope to stay longer. Internet service was good, not much cellular service in house but we were able to get service outside. We were were to relax so not much time was spent on electronics, even the kids found things to do ( plenty of board games at house and things to do outside.) Thank you Mrs. Estelle.
Thanks again Estelle for opening your home to us. It was very clean and accommodating. We always enjoy our time spent down on the river with family and friends. The only thing is the stay wasn't long enough. I am already planning a stay in the spring. Thanks for everything. God Bless
