Hi. I am Martina at Door County Stay. I am the owner and day to day manager of Door County Stay, a local company that offers five high quality, five star rated, vacation rental homes in the Baileys Harbor Area of Door County. All my properties are listed here on VRBO.
**Please note that during our high season we only rent from Friday to Friday in increments of seven days. **
**Our cancellation policy is that we will give you back 100% of money paid for time that can be re-rented less a fee**
Carraig Mór is the flagship property of Door County Stay Suite of Homes. Just a few steps up Bluff Road from Route 57 in Baileys Harbor, Carraig Mór majestically sits underneath a beautiful rock bluff that runs the length of the garden. This bluff is also part of the Niagara Escarpment. We will get back to the garden later – it deserves a chapter all to itself! In the last couple of years we completely renovated Carraig Mór from a dated old house to a two story, three bedroom, two and a half bathroom home. Carraig Mór has a fantastic wrap around covered porch where you can eat, read or just relax while looking down the garden.
Carraig Mór is a stand out property in Door County. We have over 65 reviews on our VRBO page and it is by and far one of the most reviewed of any property in Door County. Just to compare with our competitors, the Carraig Mór reviews that you read about all come directly from our guests – they are not entered by us or any other third parties. This is further testament to the service and hospitality we provide. Our homes are not your grandfather’s cabin!
Carraig Mór has three bedrooms on the second floor. The master bedroom has a queen bed with its own bathroom with shower. The other two bedrooms have a double and a single bed each and share a full bath that is also upstairs. All bedrooms have ample closet space. All beds have covers and pillows. Since most people that visit Carraig Mór are relatively local, they prefer to bring their own linens and towels. For this reason we do not usually provide the service, but if you are coming from further afield, please ask and we can make arrangements for you.
Downstairs there is a half bathroom and a washer/dryer. There are two separate living rooms, one that has a regular fireplace. There is a sound system whereby you can play music throughout the house and patio outside. We reluctantly decided to add a TV and DVD player, but there is no TV Service. Several guests have been wary about staying at our home for this reason alone. I will assure you that your decision to stay will be a good one. Previous Guests that were hesitant overwhelmingly report back that they had so much more fun with their kids and grand kids – playing with the many board games we have here. Many say it has been years since they have had meaningful conversations with their kids and are very appreciative of this.
The kitchen is a top class kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. There is a stove, fridge, cook top, coffee pot, all the plates, pots, cups, pans and glasses you will need. The kitchen is supplied with everything you need. On rare occasions a guest will tell us of something that is missing and we will replace as soon as possible. There is also a large BBQ outside on the patio. Should you run out of gas just bring the tank down to the gas station and they will swap it out for a full one. We will reimburse you for the cost of the gas.
Outside there is what can be only described as an acre of botanical like gardens that run from the house down along the bluff. There is a nice lawn area that has a beautiful maple tree from which we have, what is often referred to as, an “awesome” tire swing that the kids spend hours playing on. The garden is home to hundreds of varieties of flowers and hostas, some quite rare. This goes the same for the evergreens. You will see some very odd ones there. To help maintain the integrity of the garden we please ask that you do not pick any of the flowers and stay on the grass or paths. This garden was built over a forty year period by the late Mrs. Emily Hickey. She was an expert Gardener and we are going to try to keep the garden alive and well in her memory. Our current Gardener, Peter, spends many hours a week toiling away there. Should you be fortunate enough to see him the please say hello to him. I guarantee you will have an interesting conversation!
Carraig Mór is situated right in the middle of Baileys Harbor. You can walk to everything – bars, restaurants, shops, marina, library (you can borrow DVD’s), beach and everything else the village has to offer.

We will only have an agreement when I receive a signed copy, signed by you, of our electronic rental agreement. You agree that this agreement will be the one and only agreement that will govern your stay at one of my properties.
I have five properties listed here on VRBO. If for some reason one property is not available or suitable, I may propose you stay at one of my other properties.
