A fabulous Cretan experience!!!
I’m not one for writing reviews but, I would have been so disappointed in myself if I hadn’t written one on this somewhat breathtakingly, stunning villa.
I spent two weeks there with my family and everyday was a joy, the mountain and sea views were superb.
The owner, Manolis and his friendly family were so helpful, they couldn’t do any more for us - we even had daily deliveries of fresh eggs, vegetables and fruit from his farm. The villa was cleaned every 3-4 days which suited us very well.
As a party of twelve, there was ample space for everybody (the individual apartments are a bonus!) and the 6 children who were there (aged from 14 to 5 years) absolutely loved the pool and playground area. I would recommend a car to get around as the villa is slightly isolated but it’s a short drive to the local supermarket/resorts/beaches/ restaurants and a half hour drive to the bustling and beautiful Venetian town of Rethymno. If your thinking of visiting Crete, I highly recommend Kamelia Apts for a wonderful and relaxing experience!!!
Dear George, thank you so much for taking the time to write such an amazing review about our Villa! It was our pleasure having you as guests! Regards, ThinkVilla Team.
Amazing Greek Villa
The host was wonderful. He is very responsive. We really enjoyed the pool after a long travel to the villa. It even had a unicorn floaty. Ahhh.....
The villa is very clean with outstanding amenities (pool side table, outdoor loveseat, table under grape vines, ping pong table, children play area, outdoor grill, washing machine and small kitchen in each room, etc. It is close to shops and restaurants about 10 mins and beaches in 20 mins. To top it off, we even received homemade treat from the host.
I am highly recommend this host and the villa. Thank you for the unforgettable trip.

The property is absolutely immaculate there isn't a leaf out of place, the owners were so welcoming
Beautiful property in a very quiet, rural and mountainous area, every facility you could want is onsite. Owners were so generous with organic vegetables and a delicious local dish was a real treat. Lovely people and a great hospitality.
Stunning villa, beautiful location!
I travelled to Crete with my wife, our two children and my parents for a family holiday and also to celebrate my father's 60th birthday. Camellia House was perfect as it has plenty of room in the way of three self contained units, as well as a large kitchen / dining / lounge area downstairs, and a fantastic pool and outdoor dining spaces. This gave our group plenty of space or privacy when needed, and lots of communal areas to enjoy time together. In addition to this, the villa has a great playground at the back of the house under shade which was perfect for us as we had my two young kids with us. The villa is in excellent condition, and all the rooms are appointed beautifully.
The villa is set on a hillside near Melissourgaki village with stunning views over the valley. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular, and every evening Swallows fly around the pool. It is so quiet and relaxing, just what we wanted. Although the villa is not on the coast it is only a 15 minute drive to the nearest beaches, and Rethymno is not too far and makes for a good day trip.
What really made our trip special was the hospitality of our hosts Mr Monalis and his family. They greeted us on arrival, and ensured that anything we needed was taken care of during our stay. They also provided lovely fresh fruit, and gave us some locally produced Raki and some home made Cretan pastries which were delicious. We really enjoyed getting to know them and would take time to chat when we saw them. Their hospitality was second to none!
The rental manager Valia was also a huge help, very accommodating and responsive. She arranged a private chef Kostas Paras to come and cook a special Cretan dinner for us at the villa on my father's birthday (I would highly recommend Kostas!!), as well as masseurs, and even car rental options. All of this made our stay perfect and so simple to organise. I highly recommend Camellia House and all of the team that will assist you with your stay. A truly special experience.

Outstanding Villa and Pool!
This villa is beautifully kept by its lovely, friendly Greek owners, who live locally. They kept us well supplied with fresh produce from their garden - tomatoes, grapes, eggs and home-made Greek food - wonderful hosts!
The pool area is the best we have found, with plenty of shade and comfortable seating areas. The area is very quiet, peaceful and secluded although you will need a car for your whole stay. Perama is about 12 minutes away, for the supermarket and a great bakery (and iced coffees!) whilst Panormo is about 20 minutes away - with excellent tavernas and a lovely atmosphere.
We stayed with our grown-up children and we would all like to come back next year! It really is as good as it looks in the photos!
Dear David, thank you so much for taking the time to write such an amazing review about our Villa! Regards, ThinkVilla Team.
This lovely house on beautiful Crete was the setting for a great vacation for our family, consisting of parents and adult children. The house is a bit away from the touristic area on the coast, so it is necessary to have a car, but with a nice pool available it's fine. The house is divided into 3 separate apartments, all fully equipped with among others washing machine. The house and garden are very nice maintained. The hosts lived close by, and they came several times a day to look aftner the pool and garden, and we got several fruits and vegetables from their garden, and delicious Greek food. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful
Dear Tove, thank you so much for your kind review and for giving us a perfect rating! We would really love to host you again in our house!
Camellia House is located in picturesque green rolling hills of the Rethymnon region, in the village of Margarites, well known for its pottery. The village, which has some extraordinary architecture and lovely narrow winding streets, is well worth exploring. There is a good selection of cafes, traditional tavernas, a mini market a butcher’s and shops.
In Perama town, which is 10 minutes away by car, you will find everything that you might need like shops, bakery, grocery store, butcher’s, taverns, cafes, supermarkets, ATM machines, pharmacies, gas stations and post office.
Also Panormo, is a friendly sea side village, 20 minutes away by car and well know for its sandy beaches. The two main beaches are Limanaki and Limni. Both of them are sandy with clear blue water and ideal for kids, as they are shallow and well protected from winds. The beaches are organised and equipped with sun beds & umbrellas. Water sports are also available. The harbour beach in front of the village is the port of the area, where the boats tie up, this beach is unorganised.
The village has all the facilities and amenities one would need : well-stocked mini-markets, post office, pharmacy, a doctor’s office, a butcher's shop, bakery (hot, fresh bread every morning from 9 am), various gift shops and traditional seaside shops at very reasonable prices.
Further, there is a good selection of cafes and excellent traditional tavernas, overlooking the harbour and the sea, which offer a warm welcome and a beautiful setting to enjoy some traditional Cretan food, fish as well as international dishes.
Panormo has regular bus itineraries every 30 minutes that connects Heraklion and Chania cities.
The nearby Melidoni Cave has a rich history. Artefacts from the cave are displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Rethymnon. The myths surrounding the cave include the extraordinary story of Talos, a bronze giant.
Eleftherna, a Dorian and later Roman settlement, is 20 minutes away by car. This historic site is spectacular and surrounded by hills and gorges.
