Apartment No2 is on the ground floor having recently been acquired Apartment No 4 is on the first floor. Both have wonderful views of the Minster, the Minster Song School and 13th Century Holy Trinity Church. The layout of the apartments is similar and they are furnished to the same high standard.
We holidayed in Talbot Court ourselves in 2011 and enjoyed our stay so much so that when the opportunity arose we bought Number 4 so we could offer the same wonderful experience to others. In 2014, we took the opportunity to acquire Number 2 which was the actual apartment we stayed in during 2011.
Talbot Court is in a fantastic location close to the Minster with stunning views of the 13th Century Holy Trinity Church.
The apartment is beautifully decorated in an extremely unique way. Nothing is too much for our hosts and all the little toouches from fizz, to croissants to cakes made my stay in York for my 25th birthday extremely special. Would gladly recommend to friends and definately won't stay in a hotel again !!
This apartment is A star ++++
My husband and I spent a weekend with our adult daughter in 4 Talbot Court and could not have had a better experience. The apartment is utterly central yet secluded, with lovely views to the choir school and the Minster. Stephen met us on arrival and was very welcoming. The apartment is a real home from home - in fact better than home as we do not have a dish-washer at home! The kitchen has all the necessary equipment, everywhere was spotlessly clean and there were so many extra touches that made our stay special, from macaroons to fluffy dressing gowns. We highly recommend the apartment and hope to return.
Clean, quiet, and good water pressure all things were amply provided. Nice to enjoy the peace with the windows open with just the sounds of the doves and the laughing children if they are out for recess. Then walk out the front courtyard and the town is bustling with tourists but they leave by 6 PM and it's just you and the locals to enjoy pubs and restaurants. Short walk (five to fifteen min,) to everything in town. Could not ask for a better location.
Owners Stephen and Christine have created a superbly comfortable flat with every convenience a traveller could want. The generous continental breakfast provided was especially welcome after a trans-Atlantic flight. And they made it clear that any time I needed to contact them for any reason they would be available. The location right in the heart of York could not be better for exploring all the history that the city offers. Numerous restaurants are within minutes, as are a wide variety of high-end shops. Five stars is not enough for this rental!
We have stayed in York on several occasions, previously and never been entirely happy with the accommodation. Whilst staying in the city, in 2015, we spotted Talbot Court and were curious to know what lay beyond the gates. We found Stephen's and Christine's beautiful apartment, online and booked a short break, in May 2016. We could not have been more delighted, with the apartment, central location, and our lovely hosts. It's hard to believe that such a peaceful idyll can exist so close to one of York's busiest streets and yet, once you walk through the gates, you're transported to an oasis of calm and tranquility. The gardens and outlook are stunning and the only sounds drifting through the windows were from garden birds and Minster bells; the night-time view of a floodlit Holy Trinity church, right outside your living room window is a sight to behold. Stephen and Christine have catered for every possible requirement and the apartment is spotlessly clean and equipped to an exceptionally high standard. There were delicious cakes waiting for us, on our arrival, together with wine and a birthday gift for my husband. It felt like a proper holiday, from the minute we arrived and yet a complete home-from-home.
We were so sorry to leave York and the apartment but intend to return, again in the near future; we have no intention, now of ever staying anywhere else, from and I would urge anyone considering a trip, to do the same-you won't be disappointed.
Thank you, Stephen and Christine-we had a wonderful time :)
We picked this apartment because of its ideal location (York Minster is prominently visible from the windows) and very high ratings from previous guests. The skeptic in me doubted all would really be as good as advertised - there must be something lacking. Not so - the apartment is beautifully appointed, very comfortable, scrupulously clean and fully and practically equipped. Our hosts provided a delectable, thoughtfully chosen and much appreciated Welcome basket. In addition to a voluminous selection of brochures about the myriad tourist attractions in and around York the apartment contained an interesting selection of books and DVDs plus broad collection of guides, maps and books providing deeper insights into York that enhanced our enjoyment during our stay. (I recommend reading and walking the "Snickleways of York" and the "Walking Tour of York City Walls".)
Everyone must visit the Minster (awesome) and anyone interested in trains will be amazed and delighted by the size and scope of the National Railway Museum with its 1,000,000 items and multitude of locomotives and rolling stock.
Our hosts even provided their own reviews of nearby restaurants and pubs to simplify answering the "Where do you want to eat tonight?" question. (We particularly enjoyed Lucia's.)
We will definitely recommend this apartment to our family and friends who may consider visiting York.
4 Talbot Court is a centrally located in York with fabulous views of the Minster out of every window. It is beautifully furnished throughout and wonderfully comfortable. WiFi is provided as well as free view TV and a BluRay /DVD player. Stephen made us feel very welcome, and explained all the amenities in the flat, as well as useful local places within walking distance. Additionally we were provided with a continental breakfast for our first morning. As we were also celebrating a birthday, Stephen and Christine also left a card and a lovely present too.
We also took advantage of the car parking space, which is a very short walk away.
I cannot recommend this flat highly enough, and will be back to stay again, very soon.
