Peaceful Location In The Centre Of Chamonix With An Underground Parking Space

Set on the top floor with uninterrupted, panoramic views of Mont Blanc, Le Refuge is a stylish, two-bedroom apartment in the heart of Chamonix, next to the river and minutes from the shops, ski lifts and public transport.

With a south-facing balcony, open-plan layout and high ceilings the apartment feels really light, and is incredibly spacious at 70 square metres. Considering the central location, it’s a surprise to find that it’s in a tranquil setting, facing away from the street and not overlooked by any other buildings. The apartment has been newly renovated to a high standard, retaining its local rustic charm but with all the conveniences of a modern home.

Le Refuge easily sleeps 4 to 6 people. For those with young children there’s plenty of space in both rooms for a cot.

The apartment has a private parking space in a secure garage underneath the building, a private ski locker, and lift access from the garage. There's also free public parking nearby.

Why Harriet & Oli chose Chamonix

We bought the apartment in 2013 so we could spend more time in Chamonix and enjoy the amazing skiing in Winter and beautiful hiking in Summer.

What makes this apartment unique

Chamonix is really easy to get to from the airport and the underground parking space means that we can always find have somewhere to put the car, and in the winter we don't have to spend ages each morning clearing snow off it.

The apartment is really peaceful, considering it's central location, and the high ceiling and large windows make it a wonderfully relaxing space.

Only stayed for a few nights but really liked this apartment. Underground car park was great, although make sure you get the fob with you keys! Lift takes you to top floor where you find apartment. Warm nicely decorated apartment with great functionality. Particularly liked having an oven which is rare in the alps Only minus was there was no bath to sooth the old legs after a days skiing but shower was hot and powerful. Good location for town centre, literally 5 min walk (if that) and ski lifts 10 drive but well signed We have booked again for 2015 and can't wait!!

Superb property in the heart of Chamonix

Great apartment which was extremely well equipped - great kitchen facilities and plenty of crockery, cooking utensils etc which made self catering a dream. Comfortable living area with lovely space to sit and eat as well as relax. Netflix very welcome as was free wifi. Excellent facilities nearby with lovely bread shop just round the corner, Aiguille du Midi cable car only 5 minutes walk away, and plenty of shops (and supermarkets) within just a few minutes walking distance. Views from the apartment are great, could have just done with slightly more comfortable patio furniture out on the balcony.

We were 4 adults staying in the property and it was a fantastic place to stay! A wonderful holiday had by all.

Awesome apartment and visit (again)...

Visited Chamonix & Le Refuge again and wasn't disappointed.

Our stay was made all the better by good snow and a really well appointed apartment to come back to each evening after skiing.

The apartment is well located for all services, shops and restaurants and within easy reach of the various ski pistes; cable car to Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc tunnel.

Overall, a really good trip.

Chamonix Ski trip

My 2 sons and I stayed in Le Refuge for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year 2016. We used the apartment as a base to allow us to explore the Chamonix-Mont Blanc ski resorts and local area. Snow was thin so we sued Grand Mon't for the 3 days (approx 15 min drive). The apartment is in a great location in Chamonix, very close to the main town and local amenities - coffee shops and ski hire within a 5 min walk or the main town is within 10 mins.

There is a local Spar for basics which helped us make our packed lunches for the day as food on the slopes is EXTREMELY expensive (approx €40-50 per person!!). The Spar and other super markets sell bread, water etc, but shop around. If you plan to drive (we did) I would sugget taking packed lunch food with you and topping up the essentials when you are there.

We used Intersport for our ski hire, we did it online as it proved fairly priced and meant we could collect our kit as soon as we arrived. (approx €70pp for 3 days for Skis, Boots and Helmet). The return process was simple but parking can prove challenging so plan your rturn run wisely. We used a 30 min free parking slot and raced to the shop.

With regards reception, I was extremely grateful that we could get the keys early as my son had fallen ill, so it was nice to be able to unload the car and relax after a loooong nights drive from the UK.

The apartment itself was clean and well presented with everything you could need, with great views. Beds were comfortable with plenty of storage for all our kit including the ski gear. The underground parking was excellent, although low so roof box user beware!! This parking made getting out to the slopes easier, having not to worry about defrosting the car windows!!

With regards arrival, the info booklet was a little light, there was info on aririval/departure procedures but I felt it could have contained more useful stuff such as cooker & TV instructions, resturants and transport . On arrival we were also informed that snostation had a deal with a local hire company. It would have been useful to know this at the time of booking, esepcially as the hire shop was very close to the apartment.

Other than that, we had a great time and would recommend the flat to our friends.

Comfortable, warm, convenient, extremely well equipped

Couldn't have asked for better - only missing ingredient was snow, though that was available the other side of the Mont Blanc tunnel. It was a little bit of a squeeze with a 3 teenagers and 2 adults, but we expected that. Great apartment, well organised, well equipped (Netflix!), comfortable, tasteful, warm, and great underground parking.

First class

We have had a wonderful 2 week holiday here at Le Refuge. The apartment is lovely, clean, light and extremely well equipped throughout. We have particularly enjoyed the sunny balcony with it's stunning views and have spent plenty of time there with a glass of wine!. The area of Chamonix Sud is very friendly with an excellent Boulangerie and a good selection of Restaurants and shops.

Le Refuge is perfectly located in the centre of Chamonix next to the river and minutes from the shops, ski lifts and public transport. The apartment is on one floor and can be reached via a lift from the underground parking.

The Mont Blanc tunnel gives access to Italy in less than 25 minutes - Courmayeur, the Aosta valley and fantastic Italian food!

Activities :

In Winter, as well as skiing, there is paragliding, snowshoeing, ice climbing, winter mountaineering , ice skating and dog sledding.

In Summer, there are numerous hiking trails with huts in the area, rock climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, water sports like canyoning, kayaking, fishing and rafting as well as swimming in the local pools and lakes. You can also play golf, tennis, go horse riding or visit the adventure parks such as the Alpine Coaster luge.
