Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved our stay here for one week, and we certainly wish it could have been for longer. Everything we needed was found in the cottage including wi-fi.

Stunning views of the countryside every morning is the way to enjoy your morning coffee !! the lovely sunny weather we had all week meant we managed to visit every day somewhere different, all the places of which had details or leaflets within the cottage to help us decide which to choose each day.

A thoughtful welcome pack on arrival meant we did not have to go shopping after our 7hr drive up from Kent and was most appreciated.

The hosts, Jags and Chris, made us feel so welcome and we are already planning our next visit.

Cornish Delight

  • 5 of 5

The Coach House is a delightful cottage well located for visiting most of Cornwall. It is equipped to a very high standard, spotlessly clean, easy to relax in and has a lovely little garden overlooking fields and the valley. Chris and Jags are wonderful hosts, we were provide with a super welcome hamper, the best we have ever had, luxury chocolates and they were always on hand with tips on where to visit. We hope to visit again and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Luxurious cottage, fabulous hosts

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic cottage! Beautifully furnished in a very peaceful location but easily accessible to the coast. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and more! Little touches like dishwasher tablets, cleaning cloths and wrapping foil... All brought from home but were available in the cottage. The welcome pack was awesome... From jam to savoury snacks , homemade flapjacks and not forgetting the wine! Loved being asked our preferences for bread, milk, butter and wine. Such a thoughtful gesture and one we've never been asked before in all the properties we've stayed in. Chris and Jags are delightful hosts and always on hand if you need them but without being 'in your face'. Was lovely to chat with them about life in general plus what we had got up to during the day.

The weather was gorgeous and we were very busy during the day so it was lovely to come home weary from our adventures and relax in luxury. Would highly recommend the Coach house and hope to revisit again in the future. Don't change anything Chris and Jags...it's perfect!

Super Ferienwohnung

  • 5 of 5

Peace and tranquility in Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is set within beautiful Cornish countryside away from modern day hustle and bustle but only a short distance from many places of interest. The cottage has all the " mod cons " that you will ever need and is very comfortably furnished. The welcome pack was exceptional and gave us a great start to our holiday, especially the wine and beer!! We would definitely recommend The Coach House.

Superb accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We are so pleased to have chosen The Coach House for our holiday to Cornwall. The accommodation is immaculate with high quality fittings and furnishings and fully equipped with everything you might need for a very comfortable stay - a real home from home. So much care and thought has been put into this beautiful little cottage for two by the lovely owners. The views over open countryside and the peace and quiet were just what we needed.

The customer service provided by our hosts from first booking throughout our stay was first class - nothing was too much trouble. We were provided with a great welcome pack (we were asked beforehand for our personal preferences) which included all the essentials and more. We were also greeted with home made cake on the table on arrival.

Chris & Jags gave us some excellent recommendations for eating out, places to visit etc (they provide a very comprehensive information file in the cottage). One of our favourites was The View, a seafood restaurant which, because of the location, not somewhere you would just find on passing by. The location of the property is convenient for so many places including Looe, Polperro, Padstow and Fowey.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful cottage and would love to make a return visit.

Great location for visiting South Cornwall and terrific hosts.

  • 5 of 5

Good base for South Cornwall and would recommend for any couple touring this area. Also close to a number of National Trust properties.

Accommodation was great and owners were terrific in providing their assistance and advice and the range of 'goodies' they provided in the cottage.

One piece of advice, if you book a meal at the local pub, the Plough at Duloe, don't book through the pub's website as they don't respond to bookings even though they ask you to reserve via their website.

Plenty of places along the coast if you like crab sandwiches!

Owner's Response: Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're really pleased to see you enjoyed your time with us in Cornwall and enjoyed the welcome pack. You're right the location is really handy for several National Trust properties as well as Eden and the South West Coastal Path. I'm popping into the Plough tomorrow lunchtime on the way to Looe to pick up some scallops so I'll grab Louisa and bring it to her attention. That's a shame as it's a great little pub with good beer and nice food and caters both for people on holiday and us locals. I'll drop you an email with her response once I've caught up with her. Thanks again and look forward to seeing you again in Cornwall.

Detached, and situated far enough away from any other buildings, the Coach House offers peace and tranquillity. A private patio can be used to enjoy the lovely views across the valley and makes it the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine.

Guests have access to the whole cottage, it's private patio area overlooking the valley. They can also roam around the orchard and some of the gardens of the Old Rectory along with the small paddock which leads out onto fields surrounding the property.

of things to see and do as well as places to eat.

The Old Rectory is situated just outside the small village of St Keyne in Cornwall and along the way to the next small village of Duloe. It is very quiet, peaceful and tranquil with lovely views yet it is very close to the coast and close to the main links back to central and southern England.

The cottage has it's own private and dedicated parking spaces. We are also on a direct bus route in between Looe and Liskeard. The train is just under 2 miles away and we provide a free courtesy pick up from Liskeard station. Nearest airports are Newquay, Exeter & Bristol airports.
