Words, words, words

If you like a tale with a twist, this one will hold you enthralled. Meet Kenilworth Road, a cute terrace house miles from any hustle or bustle. Or is it? With Oxford Street a mere twenty minutes away, this is very much a story of London town. And it couldn’t be better written. The ceilings are lofty, the palette a heartwarming pink and we love the retro wooden telly better than words can tell. So drop your shopping bags, browse the bookshelves and breathe deep the garden air. Calm in the city? It doesn’t have to be a closed book.

Reader meet author

Booklovers, music-lovers and true art aficionados, your hosts make a cultured pair. He is a writer, she a producer and they’ve just had a baby.

Thereby hangs a tale

So we’ve set the scene, but what of the main action? Start in the sitting room, walled with books, hung with paintings and aglow with soft light. The vibrant pinks speak of a vivid imagination, while the kitchen’s peppermint green is highly mouthwatering. Whether you’ve been devouring books or eating your lunch, do look in on the leafy garden for a restful afternoon. And you’ll need it. With paintings to see, an old-school TV to watch and all the cafes and bars of Queen’s Park to explore, you’ll be yearning for bedtime and a good book.

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose London

Wedged between Kilburn and Kensal Rise in the northwest corner of the capital, Queen's Park has become a byword for quiet gentrification. Two-storey Victorian villas saved from being broken up into flats in an area largely untouched by modern development attract Londoners looking for a home that's a long-term prospect, rather than somewhere to hang a temporary hat.

Local festivals include the Queen's Park Book Festival, held in May, where literary names like Marina Lewycka and Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman impart bookish and editorial astuteness. Salusbury Road is smart enough to hold shoppers' attention, but for star-studded action head to Chamberlayne Road.

For interiors, Circus Antiques stocks rakish rarities and for evening entertainment The Lexi cinema is far removed from a multiplex. As the area itself, it's cultural, clever and very much a place to proudly call home.

What makes this house unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
