Ground floor

On the ground floor are two double bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen, which was new in 2013.

1st Floor

Here is the 2nd larger bathroom, a snug to watch the TV (English and German) and relax and two bedrooms, one with 2 bunk beds and the other with two single beds.

2nd floor

The whole of the second floor is an open plan lounge, opening out onto a sun drenched balcony overlooking the village and the wine terraces. Comfy chairs and beanbags to sit on and enjoy the wide screen TV (English & German) and DVD collection , a good selection of modern fiction books to enjoy. There is a table football game as well as a galley kitchen and fridge.

Top floor

The top floor has a 2 person sauna and the best views of the area. There are also 2 mattresses which can be for young children if two families want to holiday together.

Garden and Parking

There is a small garden and private parking for 1 car. Additional cars can be parked, for free on the public car park 50 metres away opposite the Sponheimer Hof

Why Marnie & Tim Dobson chose Enkirch

Tim first visited Germany in 1985, at the time of Live Aid, and has been back many times since. We had been looking to buy a holiday home for many years and were attracted by the warm and friendly welcome, the excellent English language skills of the locals, (as at that point our German was not very good). We first saw the house at the weekend of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and Marnie and our 3 children had decided that this was the house before Tim had even gone through the front door.

We and all our visitors have been made very welcome and enjoy taking part in all the activities the village has to offer. Living in the countryside it is a joy for us to be able to walk to the shops ,bars and restaurants. The house is on a quiet street with no passing traffic and is a safe place for the children to play

What makes this house unique

Our home had been renovated immediately prior to us buying it and is a warm, friendly home. It is big and modern with lots of room for families to stretch out and enjoy, there are big windows and some super period features.

Enkirch is easy to get to, only 4½ hours drive from Dunkirk, and Frankfurt-Haan airport, 20 minutes drive away has flights to Dublin, Edinburgh and Stansted

There is a high wire treetop adventure park 3 miles away. Large supermarkets are in Traben-Trabach and Zell, both within 10 minutes drive., a short walk will get you to the high street and all the local shops, banks and restaurants

Very clean, comfortable, roomy home in a quite, quaint village. Wonderful and relaxing!

We enjoyed our stay in the "Blue" house! We traveled with a 16 month old child, and appreciated having the crib and high chair available for her use. The vineyards are beautiful and the view from the 4th floor is great. We especially enjoyed walking to the local bakery in the mornings for a wonderful pastry and coffee. In the evenings we enjoyed "gelato" just up the hill and around the corner from us. Would book this location again, and highly recommend it to others!

Best weather of the year

A party of 10 adults and children visited for the Spring Wine Festival in Enkirch. the festival was superb and the weather was 28-30 degrees C all week. The house was lovely.

Enkirch / property ID 1345411 - The Blue House

This is an ideal holiday stay property for a large family or two families holidaying together. It is unusual in having the lounge on the third floor but providing everyone can manage the stairs the space is perfect for children to play. On our first day the weather was dreadful but the children didn't notice as there was lots to do in the way of games and TV entertainment. The kitchen is very well equipped though a little cramped for 8 people.

My only criticism is that the bathrooms could be better, particularly the ground floor bathroom. Otherwise this rather unusual house is a great place to stay for exploring the area with easy access to interesting small towns, lots of walking possibilities and ready access to the Mosel river.

The property was accurately described and was clean and well maintained. The owner provided excellent customer service and was easy to contact. I would certainly recommend it to other families. We did not use the local restaurants very much but found self catering very easy using the local shops as well as the supermarket in the neighbouring town.

Gemütliches Haus in schöner Umgebung

Das Ferienhaus hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir waren dort mit zwei Familien (insgesamt 8 Personen). Es ist viel Platz vorhanden und eine super Ausstattung. Der Kontakt mit den Vermietern war sehr nett und unkompliziert. Es gab gute Tipps von ihnen für den Aufenthalt. Von Enkirch aus gibt´s viele nette Wandermöglichkeiten, die auch für Kinder gut geeignet sind. Der Spielplatz an der Mosel ist schön und auch die Schleuse einen Besuch wert. Wir hätten sich auch noch länger dort bleiben können. Eine klare Weiterempfehlung!

Enkirch is in the heart of the Mittelmosel, the steep sided valley of the Mosel river, between Koblenz, where it joins the Rhine and the historic Roman town of Trier. It is in the heart of the wine growing region with approx 200 winemakers in the village.

The village is a super location for hiking, either in the wine tracks surrounding the village or in the Eiffel or Hunsruck hills surrounding the valley.

An easy network of cycle tracks along the river means you can ride alongside the river and either catch a pleasure boat or put the bike on the specially built trailers behind the buses and return to the village in time for a glass of wine in the evening sun on the house balcony.

There are some superb swimming pools in Kröv, Traben-Trabach and Zell, all within 10 minutes of the house. The pools have saunas, diving pools, length pools, water slides, cafes and bars, jacuzzi, indoor and outdoor pools as well as loungers to sit in and enjoy the sun, This is one of the sunniest areas in Germany.Once your children have discovered the pools they will not want to leave.

Enkirch is set up for holidaymakers, with bars, restaurants, shops, banks and plenty of festivals and events for you to enjoy, from Karnival, to the Wine Queen to vintage tractor rallies, to mention but a few.
