We built this home in the tradition of Timberline Lodge. The chalet is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath luxury custom built home. This home features wood accents and trim with birch floors, hickory cabinets, pine doors and ceilings. Enjoy the central heat and air conditioning system. Its interior décor is furnished in rustic Mexican pine with quality bed and bedding throughout.
FREE WiFi and Ipod Docking Stations!
The 52 ft deck surrounds the home with views of the Cascade snow-capped mountains. You will enjoy the new 44 jet hot tub overlooking the seasonal creek and the lush green forest behind the chalet with bbq, firepit, deck furniture and picnic table. Read a good book or enjoy a great movie on our flatscreen TV's and DISH network system. We are only 4 miles to the Steven's Canyon entrance to Mt Rainier National Park which is one of the main entrances that ascends to the Paradise Inn and New Visitor Center. So many trails, waterfalls, lakes and rivers are within miles of the cabin..the beauty is breathtaking!
In winter White Pass Ski Resort is only 12 miles away, the closest you can get to this jewel of a ski area with trails for all levels and 2000' vertical.

Here is what a recent customer said about this cabin - 'Bob and Sybille - We so enjoyed your home in Packwood - hate to leave tomorrow a.m. Love how you paid attention to every detail! Really appreciated the directions for operating things and labels on light switches, etc. It felt like home away from home. We had lovely weather - Mt. Rainier 3 days and Mt. St. Helen's 1 day. Thanks so much. Have a great season. Maybe our paths will cross again someday in the future.
When we discovered the Packwood area we realized this was still an undiscovered gem in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. We knew we needed a place to get away with our family if we were to survive in this crazy world. We bought a piece of property and a few years later built this paradise!
Packwood is a real cute small Northwest town at the base of Mt Rainier National Park and White Pass Ski Resort. This is an outdoors person's paradise..the hiking, rivers, lakes, vistas are amazing. The wildlife is inspiring. In winter we love to ski White Pass. This is a great area for beginners and has some great intermediate and expert runs. White Pass is also doubling in acreage and installing 2 new chair lifts and a mid mountain lodge. I have skied all over the world and there is no place like White Pass...we love it!
We live in Oregon and frequent Mt Hood Timberline Ski Area. We love the Timberline Lodge and the combination of wood and metal. We decided to build a rustic northwest style lodge with timber and log accents in the Northwest tradition yet with all the comforts of home. You will love this home, this setting and all the amenities that come with it. Open the door and be in awe with the decor and quality of craftsmanship and furnishings!
Great location for hiking at Mt. Rainier and getting groceries in Packwood. The beds were comfortable and the towels were plentiful. It was fabulous to have a hot tub and a swimming pool to relax in after a day of hiking. The house was so clean and well furnished with movies and books. The cleaner delivered wood to the house (for a small fee) and even started the fire for us. We will be back again!
Nice cabin that we enjoyed and everything was as advertised. Worked well for 2 families with 3 young children.
Other than having to have to return home in Seattle for work one of the days couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to spend thanksgiving.
Our family recently enjoyed this elegant cabin. Decorated very homey, comfortable, and peaceful. We enjoyed the outside hot tub and local swimming pool. We also enjoyed the outside fire pit. I loved the open layout of the cabin's kitchen and great room. Our family enjoyed every meal on the beautiful large wood table. That's something we never do at home! We would love to return.
Overall the Home was clean and nicely furnished with comfortable beds, also had a/c. Location is perfect for exploring the area, and Mt Rainier park is just beautiful! The layout of the house makes it more ideal for 4 adults/2 kids max in my opinion. All rooms are right off the living area, so it's tough for anyone to stay up later watching tv or playing games without disturbing others. There are 2 bathrooms-one off master, one small one off kitchen. If there's anything specific you'll need for your stay you should bring it with you (briquettes for bbq, ax for firewood, matches, etc) The front deck is large and spacious. You can see/hear highway traffic from the deck. There is also a gravel road right in front of the home where others were walking by and zipping back and forth on a golf cart during our stay. The biggest bummer was how we were treated by the cleaning lady when we arrived. After driving for hours, we were excited to check in at the 4pm checkin time that was communicated to us. The home was not ready at 4pm, so we had to sit in our truck in the driveway with our a/c running because it was so hot out, until we could check in. The cleaning lady also had her husband there waiting for her in his separate truck. At one point, she came outside and smoked a cigarette, knowing full well we were waiting there to check in. At 4:20 she finally loaded up to leave. She stopped to say something to us, and we thought she might be apologizing for the home not being ready for us on time. Instead, she proceeded to rant and chew us out like a crazy person for sitting in our truck with it running and "filling the house up with fumes." We were parked in the far driveway spot and the door to the house was closed, so we weren't quite sure how that was really possible. We were stunned and speechless. After she pulled away her husband walked up separately and said she was having a bad day and apologized. The whole experience just really started our vacation off on a sour note, and was super disappointing.
My daughter and I along with my friend and her two boys rented this cute cabin for Winterfest. It only is 25 min drive upto White Pass. We enjoyed how perfect and clean it was. We ordered wood to be delivered to our front door so that the kids could have a fire while in the hot tub. There was enough space between the cabins for the kids to go out and play a little during the day. I loved the little creek behind the house. In the morning we were able to see Elk while cooking breakfast. It truly was an awesome time. The price you couldn't beat. We will be renting this same house every year now for many more years to come.
This was a wonderful place to stay (we have rented many homes)! The owner was great to work with, very accommodating! A MONSTER bull elk and his ladies woke us up on the last morning here, one smaller male (3 point) was laying in the grass, 6 ft from the deck. The hot tub is wonderful and clean, and the firepit so nice to gather around. We used this as a base camp for outdoor adventure, driving to Paradise, Grove of the Patriarchs, Norway pass, Mt St Helens, and White Pass. We will be back!
