Loved everything about the place. It is very romantic and private. Everything is well kept and very clean. Everything they claim to have there is there so there is no jeed to leave. Owners were eapecially nice and accomodating. They really pay attention to detail and make aure that they put time and effort into making your stay as you imagined. Defintely reccomend this place to anyone who is looking for a romantic private getaway or just a visit with mother nature. Will defenitely go back ourselves.
First of all, Michael was responsive, personable, and helpful from the time I submitted questions online through the end of my stay via email, texts, and phone calls.
A situation occurred that made me not able to stay the weekend I booked. I was going to take it as a loss, but when I explained the uncommon circumstances to Michael, he allowed me to re-book!
Upon my arrival, Michael walked us through the inside and around the property, pointing out amenities free for us to use and showing us how things worked.
The cabin was simply wonderful! Enough rustic charm with a modern touch (Wi-Fi, cable, washer & dryer, nice appliances, jacuzzi, etc.) about 15 min from Lake City which has shopping plazas. The beds were very comfortable, the view of the lake was spectacular. We enjoyed making a fire and roasting marshmallows (yes, even in June!), sitting out on pier looking at the water and catching glimpses of wildlife. Michael and Terri have done an excellent job making it feel like home, a respite, and blessed haven. There is a sweet peace and presence there that makes it hard to leave. I definitely plan to return and after telling my family and friends, and showing them my pictures, they want to experience it too!
My family used to go camping when I was a little girl. So, I booked the cabin for a country get away for my mother and I. It has modern appliances, Wi-Fi, and everything you need to make it a home away from home. We went tubing on the Ichnetucknee River and really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit when we returned.
My husband and I rented the cabin for my birthday weekend. We were looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Orlando. This cabin was PERFECT! You don't want to leave. You have everything you could possibly need to enjoy time in the outdoors. We loved having access to so many simple things to do: fishing, fire pit, kayaks, hot tub, BBQ grill and a comfy living room to catch a movie & nap while it rained. Life seemed to slow down the weekend we were there and it was exactly what we needed! We enjoyed the quiet nature of the cabin that allowed us to enjoy the serenade from frogs, crickets, and birds.
Michael is simply the best!! He is extremely gracious and genuinely wants you to enjoy his little slice of heaven. He and Terri have clearly poured their absolute best into their cabin to make it a retreat for all who are fortune to enter its doors. Book this cabin! You will love your time here and be looking at the calendar for a return visit!!
My fiancée and I rented Michael's cabin this past weekend for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing. The cabin was impeccable and Michael was fantastic. It had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be back and recommend to our friends and family.
We spent time at the Do Duck Inn, the weekend of May 27-30, 2016...upon arriving my first thought was this is cute...& perfect. Everything that was promised was delivered! Michael has the cabin set up with no detail missed. The cabin is cute, clean and organized this adds to the comforts and peace you will experience. We enjoyed a cool beverage on the dock looking at nothing but nature. Occasionally a turtles head would pop up to check us out, which for me was fun to watch. It was quiet just enjoying the sounds of the water and as the breeze came through it felt amazing. During one of our kayaking adventures we were able to enjoy watching the bald eagle, that Michael spoke about, fly through the sky. We cooked out and had bonfires. Everything you need aside from food is there ready for you. I cannot express enough how organized and convenient everything you need is made for you. So if you're craving a getaway that involves a real moment away with nature and quiet the Do Duck Inn is a definite no question place you must experience! We even enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the evening and adding to the romantic...lightening bugs started to play in the nights air. I have not seen them in forever. A great couples getaway or even for an individual looking for a moment of quiet. I must add that we did stop at the local Publix on the way and our experience even there was amazing such a friendly environment. Thank you to Michael and his wife, for creating an opportunity such as the Do Duck Inn, it was the best vacation I've had that delivered everything imagined! ~Kevin & Michelle
