Camden Crescent - Beautiful first floor period apartment with panoramic views

Bedrooms 2
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 1 - 2 nights

About the property

Camden Crescent - an apartment that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

This beautiful first floor period apartment has panoramic views over the city and countryside. Situated in one of Bath's most sought after locations, this lovely property has 1 king size bed and one superking that can be made into a twin, 1 bathroom and original Georgian features. It also benefits from a private car-parking space behind the Crescent.

An elegant drawing room makes the most of its high ceilings and ornate plasterwork with richly draped Georgian sash windows. The room is south facing and is warm, bright and richly furnished, with glorious views all year round. There is a large in-built bookcase with plenty of reading material and two comfortable sofas either side of the fireplace. The ornate marble fireplace conceals a flat screen TV with freeview box, and stereo system. Furthermore there is broadband/WiFi facility and a video entry phone, located in the hallway.

The contemporary kitchen/breakfast room overlooks Bath and the rolling hills. It is fully fitted with a gas hob, built-in `Smeg` double oven and separate microwave, built-in fridge /freezer, washer/dryer and Bosch dishwasher. There is a fold down table in front of the window to seat 4.

The master bedroom, is opulently furnished with a king size bed, plenty of fitted wardrobes and two large and extravagantly draped sash windows.

The other twin bedroom can be made into either a twin or a super-king with plenty of light and storage. The large shower room, has a generous corner `Matki` shower unit with corner seat, w.c., hand basin and towel rail.

Camden Crescent was built by John Eveleigh c.1790 but was never completed. Above the doorways can be seen a single elephant's head, which was a part of the coat of arms of Charles Pratt, Marquis of Camden. It is a wonderful location with great views and 5-10 minutes walk downhill to the city centre. You can take a stroll to admire other fine Georgian buildings nearby, including the Royal Crescent and The circus.

A private free standing parking place is provided and located behind the Crescent. Alternatively the train and bus station are a 20 minute walk away.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a most enjoyable weekend in your elegant, luxurious apartment in Camden Crescent.

We will definitely be returning and I would highly recommend the apartment to friends.

Thank you also for all the delightful little extras, e.g shortbread and chocolates.

Lovely apartment in a great location

  • 4 of 5

Everything was perfect. Comfortable apartment, large and bright rooms. Great views and conveniently located minutes from city centre and supermarket. Will definitely return if ever I visit Bath again.

I perfect location in Bath

  • 5 of 5

Bath can be a very touristy city and lots of noise. Camden Cresent was an 8 minute walk down a hill to get to The Roman Baths. It was calm at CC with a beautiful view. The apartment was very clean and felt quite posh. The kitchen was nice and we made several meals there (needs a few sharp knives). CC is a historical building that is well cared for. I would go back.

Comfortable and elegant apartment in a building mentioned by Jane Austen

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful week long stay in this elegant but comfortable apartment in Bath. It sits up the hill from the town center and commands an expansive view of Bath, and was a manageable walk if you don't mind the uphill return. It is a first floor apartment (a one-flight climb from street level), but the interior space opens up to high ceilings, crown molding, and elegant chandeliers. The apartment was well-appointed and met all of our needs, including a fully functional modern kitchen. Bonus: Camden Crescent (dating back to 1795) was mentioned in Jane Austen's Persuasion.
