Look up at the night sky to star gaze or watch the deer graze off the back deck, then take in the mountain views from either balcony. Feeling lucky yet? Check out the map I left you to see how close you are to every activity & restaurant offered in the resort. Or head out for some MTB in the park! Our home is now your home for the length of your stay so please treat it with the same care and love you treat your own home. You made the right choice with Stargrazer!
Stargrazer is centrally located in Massanutten resort, halfway up the mountain, equidistant to ski slopes, restaurants, waterpark, golf courses and everything within the resort. You are close enough to the entrance to offer a convenient drive to the Shenandoah Park, Harrisonburg, or any other area you would like to visit while in the area. We have an expansive deck off the back of our home that is fully furnished with two dining tables, small couch, chairs and coffee table so that you can relax & enjoy this very peaceful, quiet setting. The sounds of birds singing and the sight of deer cruising through our back yard make our home a very special place to visit! We have a pair of small binoculars in the kitchen if you enjoy bird watching. The bedrooms are well appointed and most everything in the home is new, from high end linens to stylish furniture. Comfort is key, wether you will be staying in our home for a weekend getaway or an annual vacation with family and friends. There are 2 King, 2 Queen and one full bed with 3 full bathrooms. Our kitchen is fully stocked with tools and dishes to prepare and enjoy your meals, did I mention the smoothie maker/blender & crock pot. We have a wonderful gas grill on our huge deck (we do not provide fuel). Paper items such as Coffee filters & Toilet Paper (3 rolls per bathroom) are all included as well. We try to discourage the use of disposable paper and plastic products and provide ample kitchen towels, floor mess towels (a non white towel in kitchen & all bathrooms) and filtered water through the fridge. We do not provide paper towels. The owners association has a large outdoor pool that is available for you to use during the summer months (we purchased an annual pass for our guests to use, not all vacation homes in the area offer this) Please be aware that they do also charge you a small per person fee (Approx. $5) to use the pool. We provide a white bath, hand and wash towels for every guest, but please do not use at the pool . You will need to bring your own pool/water park towels. We DO provide dish soap and spray cleaner for countertops, as well as, plenty of dish cloths, reusable sponges & drying mats for hand washing.
We look forward to hosting you and your family/friends in our beautiful mountain retreat!
Some of our house rules:
We have a camera next to the front door of our home for security, to help monitor number of guest and our NO animal policy. We charge $20 per guest per night over 5 guests with a maximum of 10 total (this includes children). This allows us to charge less for smaller groups. If you have more people in your group than you booked for you will be charged the additional fees plus $50, so please be honest when booking. If you have more than 10 guests/humans (includes children and infants-this is for our insurance policy) or animal/s with you then you have broken the rules and will have to leave. You will not be reimbursed your payment.
The wood stove, garage, laundry and Jacuzzi tub in master bedroom are not for guest use and are not included as amenities.
Our home is comfortable for all ages but we do not have it 'baby proofed' so feel free to move some decorative items you think may be tempting for little ones, we just ask that you put things back where they were before you leave. We do not have a crib, high chair or other things for age specific guests so please bring your portable crib, etc if needed. There are a lot of stairs in our home, 2 balcony's (not appropriate for children) and an open, to the downstairs, loft area on second floor (with railing) so if these items are of concern, our home may not be appropriate for your needs. While Massanutten is a wonderful place for children, as there are many activities in the resort, such as a waterpark, bungee, mini golf, etc. we just want you to be aware of these things prior to booking if you have little ones. Garbage- we or our cleaning crew are NOT able to dispose of your garbage so please take all with you. There is a community dumpster (for vacation rentals) for you to take your garbage to and the directions to this are in our home binder. If it snows while your here you may need to shovel snow off the driveway (we have a snow shovel at our home). Massanutten community has excellent snow removal for the streets but does not remove snow from driveways. Remember to bring towels for the pool or waterpark, our towels stay in our home. We have a non white towel under every sink and in every linen closet in the house, these are for cleaning up spills on the floor, do NOT use our white bath towels, wash cloths, or hand towels for this. Please refrain from wearing shoes in the house, we have a shoe tray by the front door and a coat/shoe closet next to the front door for your shoes. Please no food or drinks (other than water) in the bedrooms, we have had sheets ruined by red wine, grape juice, etc. more than once. If a member of your group wears diapers, bring a changing mat and do not change diapers on our beds or furniture and do not use our wash cloths as baby wipes (this has all happened in the past and have had to replace linens) . We hope that you will treat our home as you would your own, but this has not always happened, so I have tried to include a few rules here (based on issues that have arisen) that will help to keep our home and everything in it, as nice as possible for all our future guests.
