Why William Keene chose Florence
It is a very large and spacious 2 bedroom apartment with great floor to ceiling height that allows plenty of natural light in. It is in the City centre within walking distance of all the tourist attractions and it has a private garage.
What makes this Apartment unique
It has two balconies, one at the front and one at the back. Views of the River Mugnone and is an exceptionally large 2 bedroom apartment with separate living and dining rooms. The garage at the rear of the property means you can park quickly and for free.

My daughter, husband and I loved our Florence stay.
The flat is absolutely beautiful and spacious. Since it's summer we appreciated the air conditioning. And our host William Keene was generous in his recommendations of restaurants and service. We've been traveling for 2 months and one of Williams recommendations is my favorite over all other restaurant meals to date. I want to go back to Florence to shop for Christmas gifts and also to eat at Le Fonticine. We're not sure when but when we return to Florence we will stay at Refredi for sure.
Dear John & Karen, thank you for your fantastic review. It is wonderful to hear that you and your family loved your stay in Florence and we look forward to welcoming you back to Florence to shop for Christmas gifts and eat at Le Fonticine restaurant. It is tremendous to hear that you found the apartment absolutely beautiful, spacious, especially appreciated the air conditioning and ate your favourite meal in Florence after 2 months of travelling. Kind regards William
I stayed in this wonderful apartment for two weeks in June 2019. I was joined by a childhood friend. We each had a big bedroom with comfy beds and nice linens. The apartment is large, with high ceilings and comfortable amenities. It’s a real home. We particularly liked sitting in front of the glass doors in the evening, looking out over the Mugnone riverbed, while enjoying a glass of wine. Beatrice was a jewel. So helpful about every thing. Mr. Keene is a responsive host. I would love to return and bring my family.
Dear Kathleen, thank you for your fabulous review. Delighted to hear that you found the apartment wonderful for your two week stay in June 2019. That you both had big bedrooms, comfy beds and nice linens. Enjoyed the large apartment with high ceilings, comfortable amenities and felt at home. Enjoyed looking out at the view from the sitting room with glass folding doors, of an evening with a glass of wine and found Beatrice a jewel that was so helpful about everything. We look forward to you returning with your family . Kind regards William
The apartment was exactly as represented in the listing - quiet, clean, and comfortable. It was easy to reach, via a number of buses or the new tram line, and only about a 20 minute walk to the centro.
Dear Kevin, thank you for confirming that the apartment is exactly as represented in the listing and is quiet, clean and comfortable to stay there. The apartment is easy to get to either by walking, buses or tram. Thank you for your five star review. Kind regards William
Comfortable, Clean, and Spacious
This apartment is in a pre-war building and is very spacious. It lacks the sleek Italian design that is featured in so many apartments and hotel rooms, but it is very comfortable. We particularly like the memory foam mattresses. There are also quirky things, like having a toilet in the shower. I've never seen that before, but it works. The living and dining rooms are large and the furnishings are okay -- functional and moderately comfortable. We liked having a DVD player, so we didn't have to watch DVDs on my laptop.
One feature of this apartment that is superb is parking. We were on a driving tour of Italy and a place to park in Florence is worth its weight in gold. Parking (and driving) in Florence was a nightmare, so having a garage was a real bonus. Parking in a commercial garage will cost €30/night. The car must be small, however (we had a VW Golf and it fit) because there is a ramp down to the garage with limited clearance. The ramp is also narrow.
The kitchen was nicely equipped and the refrigerator was large. There is a dishwasher, but we never used it. There is a gas cooktop and an electric oven (some instructions with the oven would be nice). There is no toaster and that would be a nice addition. There is also a washing machine with a line off the rear balcony for drying, which is great unless it rains. There is also an indoor drying rack , but capacity is limited.
The location of the apartment is good. The street is very busy, but we never found traffic noise to be an issue. The front bedroom and the living room are equipped with roll-down, blackout shutters, so it stays dark if you want to sleep in. It also attenuates some of the road noise.
There were some nice restaurants close by (Trattoria da Nasone was very good) and a small grocery (Carrefour Express) not too far away. Trattoria Tiberio was also excellent. It was a bit of a hike to the major tourist attractions, and we never quite figured out the bus system, but it worked.
Bottom line: We enjoyed our stay in this charming apartment and would use it again, particularly if we were driving.
Dear Douglas, Thank you for your fantastic and detailed review. Wonderful to hear that you found the apartment, very spacious, very comfortable, liked the memory foam mattresses, DVD player, large living and dining rooms, superb parking, nicely equipped kitchen, good location of the apartment, enjoyed your stay, found the apartment charming and would stay again. With regard to a few of your points , there is a grill in the oven which is used to grill and toast things and I thought that the images on the oven settings are universal. In all yachts the toilet is in with the shower. There is a bus route map on the wall opposite second bathroom. The tram station Stozzi - Fallaci (5 minutes walk from the apartment) is only the second stop from the main Firenze SMN train station (tram ticket 1.5 euro valid 90 minutes). We like to walk as we like looking at the Architecture, markets, people, restaurants & shops en route. kind regards William

Wonderful apartment in a wonderful city
We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights and had a wonderful time! The apartment is very roomy, there were 4 of us (2 couples) and we had plenty of room. It is close to restaurants and bars and close to transportation to get around to all the beautiful sights of Florence. William and his assistant Beatrice are very helpful and responsive to any questions you may have. I highly recommend renting this apartment for your stay in Florence, it is in a great neighborhood, very safe with plenty to do!

Viale Giovanni Milton is a one way street that is located close to the centre of Florence. The train station is nearby and accessed by walking along Via Santa Caterina D’Alessandria which leads into Via Nazionale. Just off via Nazionale is the famous Mercato Centrale. If you are arriving by car the apartment Viale Giovanni Milton is just off the main road Viale Spartaco Lavagnini (SS67) into Florence. The private garage is behind the apartment and is secured by iron gates that are opened electrically using a key in a control panel. The access to the garage has a height restriction of 1.94m, width 2.1m and length 4.9m. The parking is included in the price. The apartment is just outside the Traffic limited zone. Florentines call this the ZTL, or "Zona Traffico Limitato". It is important to know this to avoid receiving HUGE traffic tickets by driving your car into the zone. So it is great to be able to leave your car in the garage without getting a fine and walk around the center. Nearby is the Piazza dell’ Indipendenza and all the main tourist attractions are within walking distance.
