About the property

On the first floor of a listed building (18th), nice 85m² apartment, renovated in 2006, quiet and very bright, it is built against the ancient walls of the 12th century and above the cave sites. The building is part of the "Castrum" of Belvès old fortified town, the historic heart of the city. View over the Place d'Armes and its hall of the XV, this medieval village (classified as "one of the most beautiful villages in France") is ideally located for visiting the Perigord and its many architectural, historical, cultural and ... .gastronomiques . It consists of:

- Ground floor:

- A private entrance opposite the Tourist Office (it will help you spend an unforgettable vacation) Its size allows easy storing bicycles and / or buggy

- 1st floor:

- A bearing 5 m²

- A large room (20m² +) overlooking the belfry of the XI. Marble fireplace (not functional), bathroom, shower, WC. 1 bed 180x200

- 14m² + a room with a view of the hall; full bathroom, WC. 2 beds 80x190

- A large living room (27m²) with stone fireplace 18th (functional). 2 armchairs, 1 sofa 1table, 4 chairs. TV . Beautiful balcony "Renaissance" overlooking the Place d'Armes. free WiFi.

- Kitchen and small office equipped (electric stove, dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, microwave, pressure cooker ...).

 - Cellar - oil central heating, electric hot water boiler


Sheets and towels provided and changed weekly.

Lived up to all expectations

We were lucky enough to stay in this wonderful apartment for 3 months and were able to soak up the history and life in the outstandingly beautiful village of Belves.

The apartment is well located in the centre of the village, overlooking the halle. There is a local butcher, supermarket, boulangerie, and a good choice of restaurants all close by.

Yves and Marie-Francoise were excellent hosts and made sure we were comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for them.

Would highly recommend a stay in this apartment.

The property is typically French which was just what we were looking for.

The owners made us so very welcome and could not be more helpful. We stayed for 2 weeks in June which was ideal as fewer children and fewer queues at the many local attractions. The apartment is situated on the local square above a cafe. So lots to see, hear and smell from your balcony. A local market every Saturday in the square no need for an alarm clock as the church bell tower is very close. A superb holiday and highly recommended.

A perfect choice!

Although the dead of winter is perhaps not the ideal period for visiting the Dordogne, we made the fortunate decision to use Belves as our base for our week in the area last January. But even more fortunate was our choice to stay in the Durlot's apartment. Not only was it completely and comfortably furnished with our windows overlooking the ancient covered market of the town's central square, but Marie Francoise and Yves themselves couldn't have been more welcoming. From the wicker basket laden with everything we needed for supper when we arrived late on a Sunday evening after the long drive down from Paris, to precious advice on what, where and when to plan our days, to a last evening drink together in front of a

blazing fireplace in their lovely home, they couldn't have been more hospitable.

If you have the great good fortune to spend time in the Dordogne which even in

winter is a thrill, may you be as lucky as we were in having chosen so successful and indeed charming a place to call home while there.

Lovely holiday!

We had a super week. Staying in the apartment was 'perfect' for us. It was clean, very near to all the town's amenities , and well kitted out with everything we could want. The bed was very comfortable, and the only outside noise we experienced was on Friday evening, but it all went quiet after about 10.30 pm. The lady who showed us in was very helpful, and we would love to stay again if we are in that area.

Fantastic apartment overlooking the town square

We loved our stay in this apartment. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. Each bedroom had it's own private bathroom, which is a convenient feature when traveling with other people. It is outfitted with all the comforts - full kitchen, including dishwasher, washing machine and full size fridge. We were able to prepare several meals and unwind together around the table.

It was so wonderful to be able to walk right out into the square and walk around the village. We also spent time seeing a few caves in the area. Plenty of things to see in the surrounding villages as well.

We know we want to return in the future for a longer stay!
