This lake house is located in between the Omaha Airport and downtown Omaha. Stay in a lake side house while having full access to the Omaha Metro. Enjoy Omaha's Old Market District, Joslyn Museum, Omaha Children's Museum, Henry Doorly Zoo, Qwest Convention Center, and Casinos in Council Bluffs. It's the perfect place to stay for the College World Series.
This home boasts an amazing open floor plan and views of the lake on both the main and upper level. The kitchen includes bar seating and opens up to a dining and living area. French doors take you out to the furnished deck where you can watch the sunset on the lake or view the resident wildlife including bald eagles and cranes. Relax by the wood burning fireplace or watch the game on either floor. Wake up to stunning lake views in the Master and spare bedroom. Spend the day on the lake or the city. You will love it here.
You may have guessed the picture isn't of me. It is the age our twins were when we purchased this vacation home. They were doing their part to get things ready. Now we have a family of 6 so lots to do in our household. We do live in the area and have a maintenance supervisor should you need to get a hold of myself or need other assistance.
Stephen purchased this house in 2007
We love lake activities and full service lakes close to Omaha just don't exist. So when we found this property at a reasonable value on a full service lake we had to snatch it up.
We hope that you are able to enjoy all the benefits of a lake property while still being so close to downtown Omaha, the world's best zoo, CenturyLink Center, TD Ameritrade ballpark, the airport and so much more. It is truly a little piece of paradise.
The property has a nice touch .. was perfect and something we were looking for that you can't get from a hotel/ the place was very open and felt like home away from home for sure !! Will definitely make a trip back to stay again !!! Thank you to the owners greatly for sharing such a pleasant and memorable experience for our stay in Omaha !!! Thank you A+
The house was great! We were in town for a wedding over the Thanksgiving weekend. The big kitchen was well stocked with pans, dishes and utensils, which allowed us to host Thanksgiving for some of our family. The view of the lake cannot be beat! There are two large areas where family can gather and watch tv. The internet and cable worked great. The only thing I would change is the mattresses, which were very hard. Overall, we had a great stay and were very happy with the house.
Very large, nice house that is quite comfortable and welcoming. It’s kind of squeezed in between other lake homes, but once inside, we didn’t even notice them. Lots of windows with lovely views, comfortable furniture, nice feel. Many surprising kitchen furnishings were provided - including decent cooking utensils, good-quality kitchen towels, paper towels and boxes of facial tissues - even a boom box. We also appreciated homey touches like books and games on the shelves.
Our party was made up of four upper-middle-aged adults. The stairs were a bit steep, and rail-less, but the posts supporting the horizontal top rail were solid, and everyone navigated the stairs fine. The downstairs bathroom is a little distant from that bedroom in the middle of the night, and there’s a unique platform entrance to the downstairs bedroom requiring extra care in the dark, but we navigated those okay as well. The neighborhood has excellent sidewalks that we took advantage of and enjoyed, in between doing some touristy things in Omaha – overall we had a very good time.
Staying a few days in a nice house by a lake does great things for the soul. Thank you, Stephen, for making this house available to vacation-renters. Next time we’re in Omaha, we want to stay in it again!
Six of us ladies, all over 50, stayed in the home. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay! The house is very comfortable and was supplied with everything needed. The beds were comfortable too. The following are minor suggestions and problems, but would certainly not prevent us from a return visit. We had a hard time locating more toilet paper, dishtowels and dish rag. There was no dishwashing soap for wine glasses which we didn't want to put through the dishwasher but had to then. The sink strainer was broken also and couldn't be used. We were surprised also that there were no mattress pads to protect the mattresses. Again, none of this would stop us from coming back and we are planning to do so again next year. Very close to the Old Market area which we thoroughly enjoyed and the lake was a nice setting to spend the weekend!
The house itself was perfect! There were a bunch of guys in town to play in a soccer tournament, myself included, and we stayed here. It fit us with no problem and was comfortable and close to downtown. We were all very impressed with the house overall. Bathrooms are a little small, but we managed just fine. We would definitely stay again if we ever visit the area in the future.
This home is convenient to the airport and downtown and is located in the quiet little town of Carter Lake. It's a little tired but clean and had everything we needed to have a great weekend visiting our Creighton student. Especially nice to open an empty fridge, no leftover condiments to shuffle around! We would definitely consider staying here again in lieu of a hotel.
