T2 completely renovated, fully equipped and luminous, on the 2nd floor of a small building in Marseilles. It is located in the lively tourist Panier district (cafes, restaurants, craft shops), next to the Vieille Charité, the Mucem and the Old Port.
The apartment is 10 minutes walk from the train station, 150 meters from the metro and tram (station Joliette). It is ideally situated for sea excursions, see the creeks or visit the Chateau d'If or visit downtown.
The apartment is across, and composed of a large living room (27 m2) with fully equipped kitchen, a quiet room overlooking a courtyard, a bathroom with shower.
We arrived in Marseille on the afternoon of the French Music Festival where everyone comes out playing music and dancing in the streets. Lucky for us, right under our window to watch and enjoy..
The apartment was very clean and everything we expected it would be based on our communication prior to booking it. Moreover, it was well stocked with everything from coffee to olive oil, paper towels to toilet paper so an immediate trip to the grocery was not necessary. It was located very conveniently to grocery store, the waterfront, fabulous restaurants and many little shops of local artists.. There was no air conditioning, but although the apartment was warm during the day, cross ventilation through the apartment at night provided very comfortable sleeping with the windows open.
The greeter was quite pleasant, accommodating and offered very helpful information for getting around town.
We would definitely stay here if we return to Marseille.
My husband and I stayed in this apartment for three days. We were so please with everything. The apartment is all new inside and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was clean and fresh. The apartment is in the oldest neighborhood in Marseille, The Panier-the guide books all recommend walking around this neighborhood for the sights. The Old Port is just a ten minutes walk. Laurent was a wonderful gracious host, taking care of all of our needs, even arranging a taxi for us. I highly recommend this apartment, it is the perfect place for a stay in Marseille.
My wife and I stayed at The Appart Bishopric for a week and had a great time. It is right in the heart of the oldest part of Marseilles. It may even be where the old Roman theater was located. Most of the best things to see and do are in easy walking distance. We came by train, and were greeted by Laurent's assistant.. Everything was clean, modern and stylish. The kitchen was fully equipped and easy to do light cooking in, whenever we weren't eating in one of the 75 restaurants in walking distance. The old port and the Med are just a few blocks away. The Old Charity is right around the corner, which is a monastic looking building that has been turned into a wonderful museum of artifacts from a half dozen cultures around the world. Laurent is a very gracious host. We would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in the heart of Marseilles.
We stayed here for 4 days in early May .... an excellent Marseillaise experience. The apartment is in the heart of the Panier, Marseille's oldest quarter and the ideal place to experience the ambience of this ancient city. The historic Bar des Treize Coin and its square with a musee des boules and and pastis shop, is two minutes from the apartment and a perfect place for an authentic taste of life in the south of France. It's a leisurely walk through narrow picturesque alleys and pleasant squares to the port and the Noaille market. The apartment is ideal for a couple - not overly decorated with a bright living room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a very comfortable bedroom and bath with an overhead shower. It is up three flights of stairs, which is really a minor inconvenience when you consider the comfort and the location. Florent, Laurent's agent, was a pleasure to deal with; everything went very smoothly and we would definitely stay here again.
Greetings VRBO Patrons and Laurent -
We stayed at this flat in Marseille for 7 nights in April 2016. Here is my review:
Location: In the Le Panier neighborhood of Marseille, this flat is extremely well located to get to almost wherever you want within the city within walking distance, a tram, or a metro. It is also one of the the most vibrant neighborhoods in the city with its labryinthin streets and plentiful (and amazing) street art. There are charming shops, art studios, cafes, bars, restaurants and grocery stores right outside this flat and in the neighborhood. We frankly could NOT have chosen a better location. Loved this neighborhood so much. Location score: 5/5.
The Flat: This flat is a genuine one-bedroom unit - perfect for two or even three people. One of its most attractive features is that it is has a stunning amount of natural light throughout the unit. Two huge windows in the living and dining space and a large window in the bedroom provide access to not only plentiful light, but also cross ventilation, should you decide to leave the windows open. This unit is thoughtfully appointed with the kinds of amenities that a traveler would want - comfortable seating, a nice expandable dining table, a wonderfully modern kitchen (that can easily accommodate two people while cooking), a comfortable bedroom, storage space, wifi, and a lovely and modern bathroom. The microwave/oven worked excellently, as did the marvelous induction cook top and fabulous expresso machine. Cooking at this flat was a joy! Thanks to the grocery stores nearby and the great kitchen, we ate breakfast at the flat every day and almost every dinner (good to save money). The bed, by the way, was super comfortable (not a saggy mattress) and the bathroom was nice and modern with no fear of hot water ever running out while having a shower. Flat score: 5/5
Communication: Laurent - You were wonderful to communicate with. Travelers expect responsiveness and you delivered on that front big time! Thank you for maintaining a great flat (and for remodeling it to be great for travelers). I appreciated your kindness, help, and hospitality immensely. It made for a very comfortable stay in Marseille. I would encourage you to prepare a few helpful tips for your travelers, like how to use the TV, etc. :-) . Finally, we appreciated our conversation with you. You are a lovely person. Merci beaucoup, Laurent! We wish you the best. Communication score: 5/5.
Apartment was clean, well equipped and thoughtfully presented (with maps and guides).
Good location (Easy access to Vieux Port, good local restaurants/bars/ice cream and panisse).
The owner was very helpful and even met us at the station and gave us brief tour on the way to the apartment.
