The sun also rises

Many come to Los Angeles to bask in the warm glow of the West Coast sun, putting their minds at ease as they soak in the golden rays. This bright, airy home is perched atop the northern border of fabulous West Hollywood, overlooking the Sunset Strip with the crests of the Hollywood Hills peeking from behind. Here at the centre of LA’s star system, you can lean back and relax as the chill lifts from your bones – but remember your sunscreen!

Melting the snow of winter

Your host is a Moscow-born snow bird who migrated a long distance for the warmth of California. He works in the film industry and frequently travels to and from his mother country, as you'll note by the home’s Russian artwork, books and other homey Moscovian touches.

Solar tower

As you enter through the white wooden gate, you’ll immediately feel your frost hurried away by the kiss of sunbeams. The modern cottage interior has windows throughout and two sitting areas, one with a fiery spiral rug and the other with couches to cosy up to from the cold. Through the gleaming open kitchen, pause in the tastefully-appointed master bedroom en route to the brilliant solarium of an en-suite. Follow the iron spiral staircase into the sky to the equally sun-soaked guest room. But best of all, take your choice of two sun-deck porches off the main level – in front and a wraparound in back – to entertain guests with red or white wine as you all get some colour.

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Los Angeles area

If Los Angeles is a melting pot, then West Hollywood is the hottest part of the mix. This city, one of the it places to be, has the quintessential recipe for a strong dose of culture. Cute little tree-lined, apartment-riddled streets branch off from a centre of urban clutter, boutique art galleries, and assorted entertainment outlets. Add a dash of Maltese puppies on pink leashes (being walked by two men holding hands) and the delicious blend is complete.

WeHo is where the Jewish Deli and the Armenian Grocer sit side by side; where the table-waiting, aspiring actor serves Reese Witherspoon her egg-white omelet; and where the line at Starbucks is always bubbling over with talk of social justice. This town is made colourful not only for its prominence as one of the gay-friendliest US cities, but also because of its many other delectable key ingredients.

Its walkable streets hold an array of thrift stores and consignment shops, conveniently neighboured by their upscale counterparts. Of course, the food in LA rarely disappoints - and West Hollywood honours that tradition with everything from five-star fodder to pancake joints like The Griddle Cafe (where you can expect a line out the door).

If a taste of the thespian world is in order, there's a 99-seat theatre on nearly every corner offering an intimate review of Tennessee Williams. By night, the Sunset strip spices things up with a smorgasbord of famous bars and clubs. Those who come to West Hollywood with a hunger for life are certain to leave the city well fed.

What makes this cottage unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
