We are well located: only a 45-minute walk (including ferry) from the tourist attractions such as Rijksmuseum, the Heineken Experience Museum, RAI convention centre, Hermitage, the old centre of Amsterdam, one of the most beautiful shopping areas of Amsterdam (called "Utrechtsestraat"), and many good restaurants. We are anchored in the Amsterdam Marina, five minutes away from the free ferry that takes you to the central railway station (in front of the city centre) in a short trip of just 15 minutes. Parking space (also for free) is available outside the marina (500 to 600 m away): along the street, in front of the fire station. We can navigate (please, check our website for more information) on rivers or over the inland sea (a must-do in Holland), or you could just spend a night enjoying life on an unusual place. A type of tourism in which it is sufficient just letting someone guide you, either as an active participant or as an ingenious towards the opportunities that show up. And all of this in security and tranquillity. We hope that you spend this complete-change-of-scenery moment in order to have a break from your everyday life (standardised and formalised). Do not hesitate to contact us for any further information, we can adapt to any request.
We, Monique and Patrick, are a couple that used to be craftsmen merchants, and we have lived the passion of our jobs. Now we want to share our passion for boats with guests who want to discover life on a boat, navigation on the river or the inland sea (a must-do in Holland), or who just want to spend a night enjoying life in an unusual environment.
Claudé purchased this boat in 2012
Our desire is to help you discovering the different aspects (for those of you who desire so) of life on a boat. We can explain you topics such as the organisation of stewardship, techniques (the captain is a former mechanics technician), energy management on board, how to hold the ship helm, and some notions of navigation… or any other topic that you want discuss.
Life in nature, every day could have another destination, a large variety of environments, rivers, inland sea, and why not the ocean, meetings of pleasure boats from all horizons. Enjoying all meteorological and touristic opportunities, and meetings that appear on the water.
Claude and Patrick met us at the train station and were a great help during our stay. Our stay on their boat was a wonderful experience!
Monique and Patrick are awesome, the boat is awesome, the marina is awesome
You can go alone, with your familly or with friends
I'm sorry I can't say more than "you have to go and see by yourself" :-)
thanks again for everything
The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is due to the location of the boat. The boat itself is beautiful and a wonderful place to stay. It's a little cramped, but you have to expect that living on a boat. It's furnished very well and I was amazing at the utilisation of space. Patrick and Monique were fantastic hosts and made us feel so welcome. They helped us when we needed help and left us to do our own thing the rest of the time. Even with a language barrier, we got on extremely well.
We knew before we went that the boat was a way out of the city centre and this would have been no issue at most other times of year, but the walk from the boat to the ferry port was bitterly cold in February when we visited. This is the only complaint I have, though, and something that cannot be helped. If I were to visit Amsterdam again, I would stay in the centre, but as long as you are aware of the journey to and from the boat every day, there is no issue. The ferry into the city is free and only takes 15 minutes.
We hade a great time on the boat. Monique and Patrick are really friendly! The boat is comfertabel and a great place to live. Everytime we would like to came back!
My partner and I had the most amazing stay on the boat with Monique & Patrick. Everything was set up so beautifully & Monique & Patrick met us to show us to their home, they even waited an hour as we hoped on the wrong train and were late. We were offered full use of their bikes and told the best spots to go! It felt like we had the boat to ourselves. Couldn't recommend them enough. They defiantly made our holiday in Amsterdam a memorable one - we will most certainly be back!
We have enjoyed this beautiful boat in the harbor located in the heart of Amsterdam. Great service and fantastic breakfast, all fresh, delicious. Monique and Patrick are great welcoming and provide super service. Will be back for a nice cruise. Mark Nina
