Braemore self catering near St Andrews is a 2 bedroom apartment in Newport on Tay. The apartment directly overlooks the River Tay. The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 5 people and is complete with a private fitted kitchen. Each bedroom has an en-suite shower room and its own sitting area overlooking the River Tay. Each let is for a minimum of 3 nights with initial breakfast produce supplied.

The apartment comprises the entire upper floor of a large, modern detached house set within half and acre of waterfront garden.

There are fantastic unrestricted panoramic views over the estuary from the apartment.

Lovely locale and charming accommodations

We visited Scotland with my parents as part of their 60th wedding anniversary celebration. We absolutely loved the charm and convenience of this apartment, and Robert and Susan made us feel very welcome and cared for during our stay. They even helped us retrieve our lost luggage, so we didn't have to wait around for it to arrive. All in all, a great experience!

A good place to stay

Everything was wonderful: The breathtaking views over Tay river. The location in the middle of Scotland. The apartment was perfectly decorated with all kinds of furnitures and details in the rooms, toilets and kitchen; including a very complete meal for breakfast , but the best of all were the hosts which friendliness made us feel like at home..The perfect compliment for a trip to Scotland. Thank you very much for everything.

"Stunning views over the Tay"

We chose this property due to the location and views and were not disappointed.

The views over the Tay were stunning an we didn't close the curtains for the whole of our stay.

The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, they provided a very comprehensive food pack with several local products.

The accommodation was clean and spacious and had all we needed.

(I would have given 5 stars but for the TV reception, the owner was in the process of fixing the issue)

I would recommend this property.

Amazing view and great apartment!!!

We (2 adults and 1 Child) stayed a hole week at this apartment. It has a really amazing view over the Firth of Tay. The generous welcome pack was delicious and was good for round about 2 to 3 breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child. The hosts were very helpful. The apartment ist very spacious and very well equipped. In Newport-On-Tay is everything you need in short distance. Bigger shops are located in Dundee and can be reached within a short drive of round about 5 Minutes.

We can totally recommend this apartment and the hosts. We hope to come back soon.

Newport-on-Tay lies in North Fife and enjoys breathtaking views over the Tay Estuary to Dundee. It was from here that the Tay Ferries ran, taking vehicles and passengers to Dundee. A ferry service has been in this area for centuries.

So why should you stay at the Braemore Apartment in Newport-on-Tay ?

Firstly Newport is a lovely old Victorian town with fabulous views over the estuary but with a village feel about it. One of the best reasons for staying here is our location. The town is coastal and rural yet only 1.5 miles from a City Centre over the Tay Road Bridge which can also be used by pedestrians and cyclists. We are therefore well placed for the two Universities in Dundee and St Andrews University is only 15 minutes by car. If you are a golfer then there are over 50 courses within about 30 minutes drive including the Old Course at St Andrews and the Championship Course at Carnoustie. The qualifying courses at St Michaels and Tayport are just a few minutes away.

There is a bus stop about 200 meters from the apartment on Tay St with regular buses running over to Dundee and the local railway stations at Dundee and Leuchars are 2 miles and 5 miles distant and we can collect you and drop you off if required. Both stations are on the main London-Edinburgh-Aberdeen railway lines

The village shops are less than a kilometer away and there you will find amongst others, a Post Office, a very good Butcher, 3 coffee shops/cafe's, a florist, a Fish and Chip Shop, 2 Convenience Stores, 2 Cash Machines and a Hairdresser. There are also a couple of pubs and a good restaurant in nearby Wormit. If you need to do a 'big' shop then there is a major supermarket about 7 minutes drive by car over in Dundee.

Secondly, the apartment enjoys breathtaking views from both bedrooms over the Tay Estuary to Dundee and a host of wildlife can be enjoyed from your window including seabirds, seals and dolphins. Birds of all kinds abound including Sea Eagles from time to time.

Finally the apartment comes with a 4 Star rating from Visit Scotland and at 75 square meters it is more spacious than the average and thus extremely good value for money.
