Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Cornville - Trail's End Suite

1 Bedroom, 1 bathroom, full kitchen; sleeps 1-3

Sycamore Springs, like Sedona, is a destination place. The Trail's End Suite is a spacious 900 sq ft unit on the upper floor of the guest house on 12-acres of a historic ranch on lower Oak Creek. Knotty pine tongue-and-groove walls and vaulted ceilings surround Rustic Old West decor featuring handmade aged barn wood and leather furniture. The sun deck overlooks waterfalls that spill into 2 ponds, as well as meandering walkways along its banks, Gardens, mature shade trees, and green lawns year round provide rest for tired spirits. Your home away from home has private entrance, soundproofing and full kitchen with all major appliances. Special amenities include Hot Tub, Satellite TV, Wireless Internet, local phone, gas Hearth Stone stove, gas BBQ, and patio table. Just 15 min. southwest of Sedona off a scenic highway. Centrally located. Hosts live on-site to make your stay safe, comfortable, and memorable. Sorry, NO children under age 15. NO PETS

Gardens on the Property: The many gardens on this enticing gentleman's ranch can be enjoyed as well as

Wildlife, and Birds. Stroll along Oak Creek to see pastures dotted with cattle. The wildlife are attracted to the various water features on the property. Oak Creek fishing is free from the banks.

Oak Creek is a riparian habitat for many bird species including herons, hawks, and owls and flycatchers. History of the Property: This property marks the beginning of the Old Girdner Trail. Cattle were driven annually from this historic ranch up through West Sedona below Wilson Mountain, then crossing Oak Creek, continuing up Munds Canyon (near Schnebly Hill in Sedona), and ending at Mormon Meadow (south of Flagstaff). Up to one thousand head were driven by the Girdner men and their neighbors to the high country during the summer so their home pastures could be devoted to growing alfalfa for winter feed. Many of the decor items featured inside the Suite, the Spa Cabin and the grounds are originals from those cattle driving days.

Sorry, we cannot accommodate children under age 15 or pets.

Staying at the Sycamore Springs Guest House was the best choice we could have made for our vacation. It is easy to find and just minutes from Sedona. The owners are wonderful hosts. Our suite was very nice, with a full kitchen and a bed so comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning! The surroundings were so peaceful and beautiful. This green oasis was a pleasure to come 'home' to after a long day of sight seeing in the desert. We highly recommend it .

My girlfriend and I got the place for a small little over night trip. This place was perfect. It had all the comforts of home and did not fall short in any of our exceptions. Unfortunately we got there very late but the owners were more then willing to work with us and were extremely friendly. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen filled with anything we could need to cook a meal, the balcony perfect for a cup of coffee or hot coco in the morning. Without a doubt I would stay here again.

Oasis in the Desert

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for sharing your wonderful property! I was looking for a place away from the bustle of life in Tucson. This place is like a real oasis... the grounds are so beautiful and serene. The suite is wonderfully decorated, with everything one could need. We've taken pictures and will be sharing them with friends and family. I look forward to staying with you again in the future....and we loved your dogs & Catnip too!

We had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful suite in September. From the time we arrived until the time we (unfortunately) had to leave, there was a sense of peace and tranquility. It was comfortable, homey, spacious and felt completely secluded. Even though there was another guest on the grounds, we never saw or heard anyone. Shirley was very friendly and was very helpful when giving us ideas of where to visit or where to eat. I was tickled when "Catnip" came to visit me every morning while I enjoyed my coffee on the deck and every evening just to say good night.

Oh, and the hot tub!! You can't say enough about the fantastic hot tub! Completely private and those jets get you in all the right places.

The owners have gone to great lengths to make this property and the surrounding grounds a place that you will want to come back to time and time again. And that's exactly what we plan to do-come back again and again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful space with us. Looking forward to the next time.

Home away from home

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. I rarely say "excellent" as an overall rating but m,any aspects of it were just that. The hosts, the quiet, the hideaway aspect (location), and the overall comfort, and close to Sedona and Flagstaff for a casual day trip, if so desired. We only had a couple days to get away this summer and this can easily be characterized as a "home away from home". Spacious suite, rustic atmosphere, and the grounds were natural yet well maintained. Our suite was great, and believe it or not, others were even better. Well worth it.
