We spent a fabulous month of April in the Antony house! It was big enough to accommodate many friends and family members over the course of the month, just far enough away from Paris to decompress from the general hustle and bustle of city life, and the piece de resistance - it's right across the street from the parc de Sceaux. We ran in the park every morning, took numerous strolls, crossed it daily to get to Sceaux and its superb bakery - L'Etoile du Berger - not to mention cheese, wine, fish shops, and wonderful restaurants. If you've been to Versailles, then you can imagine the Parc de Sceaux on a smaller scale, but it's free, and it's at your doorstep. Louis XVI would have been so much happier in Antony!
When we arrived at the RER station in Sceaux, it's only a 5 min walk to the house, but a friend of the owners picked us up since it was raining. He answered any and all questions. We were renting the house, but it felt more like we were staying at a friend's home.
Truly this home exceeded all expectations!
This home has it all for visitors to Paris. It has very easy access to CDG airport by direct line (45minutes), , to the center of Paris (St Michel) is 15 minutes by same train. It is located in a beautiful residential area, 5 minutes walking from train station (with elevator for bags). The bonus is the magical, magnificent, immense ,Parc de Sceaux, only three houses away, styled and designed like a mini-Versailles, with fountains and great free spaces, woods, canals and serenity.
The home was clean, the owner very kind and accessible, neighbors and friends and a housekeeper were always available to help and offer suggestions.
Just accoss the Parc de Sceaux is the quaint village of Sceaux, with the high quality boutiques for fresh bread, cheeses, wines, fish, patisseries and other French delicacies.
Lots of space, big windows with lots of brightness, back patio with deck table and chairs for meals outdoors.
We really had a great time and thank you Frederic!
The house, its charm, its location... all exceeded expectations! Numerous friends and family members came to visit while we were there in the month of April, and the house accommodated everyone perfectly well. It was also very easy to jump on the RER - just a short walk away - to access Paris any time of the day. And after a very busy day of sightseeing, museum-going, and eating, working, playing... returning to the Sceaux/Antony neighborhood was quite frankly a little piece of heaven. It's a lovely neighborhood, very peaceful. A great place to decompress. But the real piece de resistance was the parc de Sceaux, located just across the street. We ran there every morning. We crossed it daily to get to restaurants and shops (you'll definitely want to get your daily bread from the Etoile du Berger, and your cheese from the cheese shop just up the street from the bakery. We are already suffering withdrawal pains from the incomparable breads, pastries, cheeses...). The park is stunning. It's beautiful in design, but more intimate and friendly than Versailles.
The home owners were very gracious - awaiting us upon our arrival were roses, chocolates, fruit, and a fine friend who picked us up from the RER station in order to save us a short walk in the rain.
We truly loved our April in Antony!
This house gives you access to the Parc of Sceaux, the Chateaubriand's house and the wolf Valley, the Nature national park of Chevreuse and of course the entire city of Paris and surrounding
