I have a passion for nature and decoration, I am a painter and horse-riding instructor. I will be glad to welcome you in Pierrelue!
My husband, our two-year old son, and I had the good fortune to spend three months at the “Gite Solstice” located on the beautiful grounds of Pierrelue. The house itself is enchantingly decorated, intelligently designed, and simply a dream to stay in. Valentine, our host, thought of every comfort in her design of the house and was exceptionally welcoming and very helpful whenever we had a question. The land surrounding the house provides a pleasant walk through a lovely grove, a commanding view of the neighboring valley, and warm greetings from the Basquin’s friendly dogs. The history of Pierrelue is quite interesting and the ancient Celtic stones on the property are living testament to the land’s role as a meeting place for the Carnutes. The surrounding countryside is picturesque and the nearby town of Maule is quaint and offers an excellent boulangerie, a world-class chocolatier, several restaurants, cafes, and boutiques, as well as a movie theater and pedestrian pathways connecting everything. From Maule, it is an easy (and direct) train ride into downtown Paris. I simply can’t say enough about this wonderful place! If you have the opportunity to stay at Pierrelue, you should take it!
We spent 8 days here, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The location was great for trips into Paris by train, Monet Gardens, and other places. The owner is a very warm person, and couldn't have been nicer, and was not, at all, intrusive. The property is beautiful, and the house has all the things on needs for a comfortable stay. We would highly recommend, and would stay here again, if travelling to this area.
We were a family of 4 and stayed in the amazing holiday home of Valentine, was located on the private domaine of Pierrelue.
Valentine was a great landlady, and was there to help us whenever we had an issue. One of these issues was the internet being shut down due to massive storms in the area. She was really helpful and arranged temporary 3G connection through her personal iPad, until the technicians arrived 2 days later.
A very clean house, with all the amenities and high standard furniture.
The last week of 2015 we (6 adult persons) booked the “Gite Solstice” located on the beautiful grounds of Pierrelue. The house itself is very attractive decorated, nice equipped, and simply a awesome to stay in. All the comfort is available in the house. We enjoyed the friendly dogs on the property. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with nice villages Maule, Mountainville and Crespières. Maule offers an excellent boulangerie, a chocolatier which is very nice to visit. From Maule, it is an easy (and direct) train ride into downtown Paris. Chateau Versailles is very easy to reach bij car. If you look for a wonderful place to stay with a group of friends or your familiy you certainly should consider Pierrelue.
