Modern apartment in a small building in a quiet residential area, close to public transport, beaches and the village of Cascais.

It has 3 bedrooms (2 double beds and two single beds), two bathrooms, sleeps 6 people, with modern fully equipped kitchen, large living room with sofas, dining table for 6 and national television. This apartment boasts of a huge terrace with several sun loungers, BBQ and a breakfast table with chairs in order to eat out how much is preparing your lunch or dinner. Also has a very nice view over a green valley and views of Cascais.

Not the property we paid for

I would not recommend that anyone books this property based on our experience. We were due to fly out first thing on Friday morning. I expected to receive an email a week beforehand giving the address and access arrangements. When this didn't happen, I emailed the owner on Monday. There was no reply. I emailed again on Wednesday. Still no reply. I was becoming extremely concerned that there was a problem with this property. Having not received any communication from the owner by Thursday evening I rang HomeStay who contacted her and I was told the owner thought the address of the property was on the website and would be emailing me shortly. Two hours later I received an email from the owner. I was informed that the property had had a flood and that another property was available to us but without the terrace. We booked this accommodation purely on the fact of the outside space. We were offered a refund but with 8 hours before our flight this was not a viable option. The accommodation we were provided with was a nice apartment but did not have outside space, just a balcony. We paid extra for this outside space and the owner has not offered any recompense for us being in accommodation with fewer facilities.

I refrained from posting a negative review as I believe that if there had been a genuine issue with the accommodation that we had booked, the owner would have offered some refund which is a reasonable expectation and a more positive review would have been left. No refund has been forthcoming.

I do not believe that there is an apartment with a terrace and this advert is a lure to get travelers to book accommodation with outdoor space and then provide them with an apartment which is not of the standard advertised and paid for.

HomeStay also state that they can not assist in any way which is satisfactory to us. I was told that they had done as much as they could which amounts to practically nothing.

Having no communication from the owner until a few hours before our flight caused a lot of stress and the unavailability of the property was extremely upsetting.

I imagine that this property will appear on other websites which don't have this review posted or that this property will be removed from HomeStay altogether. If it remains, book with extreme caution.

Bel appartement mais accueil très moyen

L'appartement offre de belles prestations : cuisine correcte, belles chambres et superbe terrasse avec un barbecue. Toutefois, le mobilier de jardin est assez vétuste et mériterait d'être renouvelé. Le centre-ville est plutôt à 20 mn à pied et en côte au retour.

Attention un supplément de 70 € (obligatoire et non mentionné dans l'annonce) vous est demandé pour le ménage alors que la propreté laisse à désirer : nous avons dû balayer et laver par terre avant de nous installer.

Accueil très moyen : Appartement prévu pour 6 personnes et il n'y avait pas assez de couverts. Nous avons dû en redemander.

Cafetière pour 6 petites tasses. Si vous êtes plusieurs à boire du café le matin, prévoyez de faire plusieurs cafetières.

Pratiquement pas de conseils de la part du propriétaire.

Chauffe-eau ne fonctionnait pas à notre arrivée (samedi en fin d'après-midi) et nous avons dû nous débrouiller car aucune alternative ne nous a été proposé avant le lundi : technicien qui passe le lundi matin ou de nous rembourser un samedi soir et que l'on se trouve un autre logement.

Bref, je n'ai pas retrouvé l'accueil que je connaissais de la part des portugais.

trés bon accueil de Gabriella.

Gabriella s'est trés bien occupé de nous et de notre installation.Après un ennui sur notre chauffe eau elle nous a trouvé une villa avec piscine pour remplacer notre appartement.Je recommande Gariella et son équipe à tous ses futurs locataires.Jean Pierre Prieur
