Staying in suburb of Verdun in order to be near historical sites of WW1

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely and spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Our hosts were equally charming. The location was perfect for our purposes--which was to tour the surrounding areas with so much history--battlefields, trenches, forts, museums, and cemeteries.

Amazing house, amazing hosts!

  • 5 of 5

The house is even better than the pictures do it justice. An idealic setting, located in the French countryside, we couldn't have asked for something more perfect. The home is very comfortable and would be great for an extended stay (sadly we only stayed one night). The hosts were super nice and very flexible. All in all we would come back in a heartbeat!

Perfect house

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely delightful house and garden, with everything we could possibly want for a relaxing and comfortable stay, and a very warm welcome from the owners who provided exceptional service. Altogether an ideal break, and we wish we could have stayed longer.

  • 4 of 5

Great Gite very well placed for the WW1 Battlefields

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend this gite. There were 3 of us but the gite can easily take 6. Very well equipped and lovely garden and surroundings just at the bottom of Morte Homme hill ie right in the middle of the battle field! The Verdun area is fantastic if you are interested in WW1 history. I have been on many trips but this one was definitely one of the best. Incredible amount to see and you can really walk miles within the battle field area which apart from trees growing has been kept as was at the end of the war.
