The home sits atop a small bluff with direct access to Lake Huron. Nestled on a quiet dead end street, the property has English gardens, an herb garden, decks accessed from 3 sliding doors with full view of water, and a kayak. The property has an irrigation system and the lawn is taken care of weekly. Decks and dining directly on the water are a showpiece of the property. The decks are made private by an older grapevine. The National Forest is across the street for great hiking and easy exploration.

About Mark Shaheen
My name is Mark, I am a retired public school teacher, and currently instruct at various colleges throughout the state. I was born and raised in Flint, MI. When not in East Tawas I can be found in East Lansing.
Mark Shaheen purchased this House in 2007
Why Mark Shaheen chose East Tawas
When I first walked up to this house, I could see the lake through the front door, and that as they say, is that. The immense views of water, and its always changing moods pulled me in, and within a day I was making plans to purchase. Lake Huron was my first great lake for me so in that sense, it is nice to be home.

Charming home with a fantastic view.
Mark was an excellent host! He provided all of the details of the house prior to our arrival, and we arrived to a clean and very comfortable home. It had everything we needed for the four of us to soak in a powerful view of the lake by the warm fire. Enjoyed downtown Tawas for breakfast in the mornings and the chocolate shop. The home is also close to the National Forest, which we enjoyed driving through. If the weather has cooperated, we would have enjoyed walking some of the trails. We definitely hope to return to this little gem on the lake.
Really great time!
My friend and I did our annual girl's weekend here! The shopping was really great! The bay is very pretty and so 'powerful' this time of year (mid-November). The home was beautiful and we really enjoyed chatting it up in front of the living room fireplace. I had the bedroom looking out over the lake which is a breathtaking view to wake up to in the morning. My friend really loved the coziness of her bedroom! We would certainly stay again! Thank you, Mark, for the opportunity!!
Lovely home, beautiful views, responsive owner.
This was a girls’ weekend getaway. The home was very clean and cozy. The views were beautiful. We had one small issue that Mark was quick to resolve. Will definitely be back!
Lovely lakefront
A charming house overlooking Lake Huron. Eclectic and cozy. Great books, nice art. It made for a nice weekend away!
Fantastic lake view
A very well-appointed and welcoming home. Mark’s personality comes through in all of the charming design touches. However, the key “design” features are the vastness of Lake Huron seen out of every window on the back of the house, the beauty of the changing light throughout the day, and the peacefulness of the quiet neighborhood location. We took advantage of there being no TV in the living room (large one in master bedroom for those who must have it) to watch the lake, read, and - yes! - talk! We left wishing we could have stayed longer. Mark was a pleasure to work with and helpful at every turn. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Lovely place and lovely setting
This is a beautiful place to stay. The home and setting are wonderful. It is great to be able to see Lake Huron from pretty much anywhere in the home. We had such a nice and relaxing weekend. Will definitely stay again.
