I stayed with my family in August 2016 for amazing weeks. The trulli is in a stunning rural location but only a short walk from a small village or a short 5 minute drive from the local town. It has been beautifully renovated and provided everything we needed. We pretty much lived outside using the BBQ and outside lounge in the evening. We spent many a night star gazing and watch satellites and shooting stars overhead creating many magical memories with our two young daughters. The pool is amazing and the girls would play in it all day long. The surrounding towns are stunning and offer plenty of opportunities for foodies. The beaches are amazing but can get very busy during peak season. If you go early in the week you can avoid the crowds that you get at the weekends. All in all we had a perfect stay and I would highly recommended this property for a relaxing family break.
We were looked after very well by the local agent and had a fantastic stay. The property is within a short drive of many lovely historic towns yet offers a very tranquil setting. I would love to stay there again in the future.
Very nice house, very well renovated and very tasteful decorated. Very well maintained. Puglia is a very nice area with a lot to do. Service is high as well. I would recommend everybody to stay here and enjoy this place.
The pictures online don't do Trullo di Sopra justice. We were pleasantly surprised the entire two weeks we were. We have never had such a relaxing family vacation and our girls are 8 and 12. Everyone had room to spread out, places to explore and a beautiful pool! None of us wanted to leave when it was time to go.
The Trullo itself is a dream! The inside has been lovingly restored with attention to the smallest of details. We found plenty of room for all of our things with lots of hangars in the closets. The entire outside area and roof are things you can't capture in a picture. The pool area and patios are so relaxing. From the roof you only see the tips of a few surrounding Trullis, olive trees and fig trees. Almost every evening we watched sightings of the ISS and looked at the stars. You don't hear a single car or plane or any kind of people noise. Just the smell of lavender in the air and the high summer sound of locust. The next neighbor is Trullo di Sotto which is far enough away that you don't hear them.
Even though we were there in August we didn't us the air conditioning even once. You always have a cross breeze. The screen doors are very sturdy with locks so you can leave the doors open at night too. Our girls loved Red Water Ranch just a few minutes' walk away and visited the horses and dogs at least once a day. On the other side of Red Water Ranch are horse trails to wander down and explore nature. You can walk for hours through olive trees and vineyards. In Casalini/Panza a few kilometers away there are small grocery stores with lots of local cheeses and meats. Very friendly people, even with non-Italian speaking tourists.
Communication with Nina (owner) was wonderful! We booked in November 2014 for August 2015. After deciding on Trullo di Sopra for many reasons, Nina was nice enough to keep us updated during the upcoming months! For example, there was no terrace by the pool when we booked, so she sent us pictures in whatsapp. She also personally let us know when our deposit cleared and so on. Nina's great!
Angelita is the property manager in Italy. We drove from southern Germany and the planned 12 hour drive turned into 17 hours due to traffic. We kept in touch with Angelita on the way and let her know when we finally reached Bari. She picked us up in Cisternino and even helped us get dinner organized! Ask her for a tour of the olive oil mill she works at!

This was indeed a very charming and well-functioning residence with unique interior as well as exterior solutions.
We enjoyed ourselves from day one in this beautiful and peaceful environment.
The surrounding and exciting small villages and lovely beaches also made our stay a most memorable one and we shall definitely like to come back.

On the Adriatic coast on Italy's heal exists a vacation paradise, called Puglia. The area is a favourite destination for Italians on holiday in their own country, and is only marginally affected by international tourism. Here you will find white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters in addition to a number of picturesque villages like Alberobello, Cisternino, Ostuni, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Polignano a mare and Ceglie Messapica to name but a few. The area is also known for its unique round trullo-houses - like our house for rent.
About the location
The holiday house lies undisturbed in a lovely little valley filled with by olive-trees and figs. There is no traffic passing through, but the property is by no means isolated. With the exception of the last 100 meters up to the property, there is a paved road. It is a 7-minute drive to Cisternino, while the nearest small town, Casalini, has a grocery store and a handful of trattorias, only 2 minutes by car or a short walk away ... The Adriatic sea and the beaches are just 17 km away and there is ample parking along the coast . There are a number of free beaches in addition to beaches which offer rental of sunbeds and parasols.
The days in Puglia are well enjoyed by the pool, on the beautiful beaches and of course visiting all the picturesque villages nearby where you can go in for a walk in the afternoon and have a delicious ice-cream, attend a concert in the piazza at night, visit a beautiful church or eat dinner at a nice outdoor restaurant.
But there is far more to do for those who get restless after a while!
Horseback - riding: In walking distance from the property there is a riding centre offering riding lessons and excursions in Valle d’Itria.
Golf and spa: offered in Savelletri ( 20 mins drive ) in connection with a number of 5 star hotels that have been established in recent years.
Amusement Parks : Also in Savelletri where there is an amusement park, zoo safari and aqualand
Shopping: Puglia has a long tradition of ceramics , and there are outlets all across the region. On the outskirts of Bari there also is an outlet village. There are also nice markets on selected days in the different towns where you can find everything from local produce to antiques .
Visiting a Winery : Puglia is a major producer of wine and grapes like primitivo and negroamaro are well known all over the world. Visits to vineyards may be arranged.
Day trips: For those who like to get around a bit when you 're on vacation, we can recommend day trips to Baroque Lecce or Bari, a harbor town with a charming old town and bustling night life . Alternatively you can travel to the Ionian Sea (bottom of Italy's boot) , but remember swimwear, here too there are wonderful beaches. If cities are not what attract you most, you can drive a little further south and visit the nature reserve of Torre Guaceto, with incredible beaches that give the feeling of being on a tropical island. And even further south, you will find Otranto , with a lovely beach right in town and a charming old town.
