ALL-INCLUSIVE, newly and delightfully architect-designed 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, ground-floor, top quality apartment in exceptional and one of the safest location in Paris, just 2 minute walk from the Place du Trocadero, opposite the Eiffel Tower, with the added advantage of being in a quiet and peaceful off-street residence. We recommend you read all the reviews for 2014 and 2015! All my guests have spoken to me of their surprise at having been able to sleep so soundly with no noise at all in spite of being in the centre of Paris! From the 'Esplanade du Trocadéro', a 2 minute stroll from the apartment, you will see the most stunning view of the Eiffel Tower across the Seine and the beautiful way it is lit up at night time.. You can walk to the Champs Elysées or catch a bus (a few blocks away to the North) or stroll across the river to the South and you are on the Left Bank (Latin Quarter).
Book your places quickly for the French Tennis Open championships that take place from 24th May to 7th June at Roland Garros. You can either walk there or catch a bus/metro for the short hop.
This lovely 50m2 apartment is cosy and warm in winter with manually operated electric radiators in each room and cool in the summer months with a good manually-operated ventilation system in all rooms plus fans in each room (not a/c) Our trusted and adorable housekeeper lives very close to the residence and apartment — she and her husband look after the apartment, will greet you on arrival, show you how everything works and will give you the security access code to get into the residence (that you will also find on the info page I send to all my guests). They will also give you all the information you need as well as being there for check-out, handing back the security deposit and general assistance when needed. My housekeeper can also help out with extra housework should you need it, for a fee. One set of linen and towels for each guest is included in the tariff as well as end of stay cleaning. There is a charge for any extra towels or change of bed linen and for any extra cleaning.
This is one of the most upmarket and safest areas of Paris.

French Open (Roland Garros) - in June - a few stops by bus or metro - or a pleasant walk!
The Eiffel Tower is on your doorstep with fabulous views across the Seine river from the Trocadero gardens
The famous Avenue des Champs Elysées and Arc de Triomphe are within walking distance,
Museums: (the Modern Art Museum is a short walk from the Trocadero),
The beautiful and huge Bois de Boulogne is also within walking distance with its newly opened Bernard Arnauld museum designed by Frank Gehri.
Bus tours, bateaux-mouches tours (boat tours along the Seine river to see all the beautiful sights)
A superb variety of shops (upmarket & other) along the Rue de Passy, again within walking distance from the flat.
The nearest Metro (Trocadero) and buses just around the corner (2minute walk) will take you to all parts of Paris you wish to visit including a direct route to St Germain des Près (the Latin Quarter)on the no 63 bus. Buy a 'carnet' of 10 tickets from either a tobacconist or in the metro itself. One ticket only is used for one whole journey, whatever the distance. They can be used equally on the bus or metro. There is a taxi rank at the Trocadéro a few steps from the apartment and so far I've never had a problem finding one! Or call the telephone number provided to book your fare. Credit cards are now accepted on nearly all Parisian taxis but better to check first.
Numerous very good restaurants and bistros, late-night closing supermarket at the end of the street, Coin laundry (if needed) and fashionable shops and stores all along the Rue de Passy nearby. Many shops, pharmacies and other stores are close to the apartment as well as several good bistros and restaurants. Cafes abound on the Place du Trocadéro and elsewhere.
Place du Trocadero and gardens (Chaillot Palace and Eiffel Tower) a couple of minute's walk away. You are practically on the Place du Trocadéro. (The finest view of the Eiffel Tower is from the Esplanade du Trocadéro.)
L'Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees approx 6 blocks away (on foot, metro or bus). At night you see the Eiffel Tower light up the sky.
Fantastic bus service, subway (metro) routes or taxis to any area of Paris at your doorstep. Short 2-3 minute walk to the Trocadéro where, from the huge 'esplanade' you look straight across the Seine river to the Eiffel tower — a must.
A good very reasonably-priced restaurant I can recommend is the Bistro Scheffer around the corner (0147049271 — better to reserve, it gets very full. Otherwise, the Brasserie Lipp in St Germain is wonderful. You can't reserve, you just need to get there in good time and hope you are lucky! Planet Sushi nearby on the rue Paul Doumer seems to be very popular with our guests and there is another brand new Japanese restaurant on the Rue Scheffer.
Please note: although the apartment is never cold, we do ask guest to be slightly careful with the heating when turned on (included in the rent). Electricity in France is extremely expensive! Please turn it down or off if you are out for a few hours.
Special rates for Christmas and New Year. Please look at rates or consult owner if dates don't quite correspond to what you wished for.
I have lived between London and Paris for most of my life and as a professional painter have shown my work in top galleries around the world including the US. Right now I live in Provence (the South of France) where I have a very old village house with a big garden (for a village!) and my studio. My website is www.carolyn-jordan.com or Carolyn Jordan on Google.
My husband, Renato Sorgato is a musicologist. 'Revisiter Verdi', his latest book to commemorate Verdi's bicentenary is available on Amazon.fr
Carolyn Jordan or Renato Sorgato purchased this apartment in 2014
Quiet, and quite exceptional location, a delightful housekeeper who is employed to look after the apartment and is much appreciated by our tenants (she is Portuguese and speaks French and Spanish; no English but she is used to making herself understood!) Excellent security with code access, approx. 130m from the Esplanade du Trocadéro, one of the most beautiful sights in Paris with a perfect view towards to the Eiffel Tower just opposite, the other side of the river Seine. Transport is really brilliant whether by bus or metro but in fact one can just walk everywhere as Paris is a relatively compact city. When you cross the bridge near the Trocadéro you are already on the left bank.
Well-equipped apartment — cosy and welcoming with very comfortable double beds and with all the amenities you could wish for nearby; certainly the quietest I've ever experienced myself as the entrance to the apartment building is off a private alley. The Rue de Passy is excellent for high quality clothes shopping, good-value Asian take-away's or restaurants and a good variety of other less expensive shops. A large variety of restaurants or bistros abound everywhere. There is a useful late-night grocer at the bottom of my street and an excellent baker nearby.
I fell for this apartment because of it's clever architect-designed decor, it's location, with everything one could possibly need at short walking distances away and the fact that it is secure and quiet. I bought it just over a year ago and love my (too short) stays there. Although it is a ground floor apartment without a view, It is cosy, practical and (as the fantastic reviews all say), the best location in town! You can stroll up to the Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe or cross the river Seine on foot to the left bank and the Latin quarter. Buses and metro are a 2 minute walk from the apartment so you can get to anywhere you want. Both double beds are very comfortable and I think you will find the small kitchen particularly well-equipped.
Please note: the 25% downpayment (only) can now be paid by credit card through the HomeAway booking service or, if preferred and as before, wired (bank transfer) to my bank account in France.
This apartment was perfect for two couples traveling together! We each had our own bedroom and bathroom and the space was much larger than what we would have had in a hotel. Even though the apartment was small, it was all we needed. We didn't spend much time in the apartment, but it was the perfect stopping point for us each night.
In spite of the language barrier between us and the housekeeper, we had a wonderful experience. Carolyn was willing to work through all of the details with us and provided a prompt response to our concerns, in spite of dealing with many other issues at the time. We were very grateful that she was willing to help us as we figured things out in this new city.
As far as the location is concerned, we loved this spot! It was just down the street from the Eiffel Tower, yet in a quiet neighborhood. In spite of being there during Euro 16, we weren't disturbed by the noise. There is a laundry mat right around the corner, a grocery store right down the street, the subway stations are all within easy walking distance, and there was plenty to do nearby.
While we were there, Carolyn gave us the recommendation to try the Scheffer bistro. It was right around the corner from the apartment and truly one of the best meals we had in Paris. It felt like a local establishment with great prices and wonderful food. We loved our server and the evening meal we spent there. Would recommend it to anyone staying here!
Overall, this apartment was exactly what we were hoping for during our time in Paris. I am so glad we found this place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone!
The listing description should be very clear about the complete absence of windows, and therefore absence of any view to the outside. It is always necessary to keep the lights on, even during the day. The owner provides only one set of keys. The kitchen sink was clogged.
Bathrooms were good, although one of them was also clogged (we fixed it ourselves). In order to get to the apartment, that is located on the back, one needs to go through a number of low-hanging scaffolds, for the apartments are going through renovations. At night one needs to turn on external lighting to get to the flat, and we found that out by ourselves, since no one warned us about it.
The location is good. The two suites (room with bathroom and wc) are small.
It is however a good value for money, since the price is fair enough.
The property was situated in a very nice neighborhood where we felt extremely comfortable and safe. There were four of us on this trip, my husband and two boys (teenagers). Carolyn was a joy to work with; she was so helpful and extremely easy to work with. Her caretakers speak French and we didn't speak any but it was not a problem as they were so sweet. The only issue I had was when I called them to let them know we had arrived so we could meet up at the apartment. However, there were some great people, who spoke some English, at a restaurant down the road who came to our aid (Le Schemm - by the way, I recommend eating here once on your stay). I was not fortunate enough to have a cab driver who spoke English who could make the call for me as Carolyn suggested (we weren't so lucky). The caretaker even walked to the restaurant to greet us and take us up to the apartment. Unexpected but we very much appreciated. The apartment was clean and compact, yet, perfect amount of space for 4 people. We didn't use the television but used the Wifi everyday and never had an issue. Most of our time was spent touring Paris so we were only there in the mornings and late at night. As is described in the property description, it is very quiet. Sleeping was absolutely no problem and we never heard anyone from upstairs or in the hallway, as this apartment is located on the first floor next to the main door of the building. We did use the fold down sofa, which worked out well for my family of 4. Also, as is described you are minutes away from the Eiffel Tower (we went there several times to tour the Eiffel Tower, catch the bus or just hang out in the evening); the grocery store; shopping; the laundromat; and several bakeries. I would recommend eating at Cafe Tacedero too. Fabulous service and food! I would recommend this property and would love to visit again one day.
My party of 4 stayed in Carolyn's apartment for the Paris Marathon weekend. Carolyn was responsive and helpful from the first enquiry, and the instructions were clear and comprehensive. I would highly recommend this apartment, I think it is very good value and a lovely little place. The highlight is its location. As I have now jogged my way round 26 miles of Parisian streets I can confidently confirm that the view from Trocadero (just moments from the apartment) is probably the best. The patisserie there, and the bistro restaurant on Rue Scheffer are also highlights within minutes of this apartment. The apartment block is quite old and very quiet. I missed it at first, it can be tricky to find as it is tucked round the back.
The apartment has everything you might need, from kitchen utensils to french press. It feels homely. Like many old apartments, the bathrooms are not newly fitted and they show signs of age but it was well cleaned. This is not a sterile 5 star hotel so if you want fittings that look brand new this is not the place for you. I think the standard of decor is exactly what you should hope for from a privately owned apartment for this price. My Mother was one of my party and she initially looked horrified that she couldn't throw open windows, but by the time we left she had to agree that the air filtration system worked well and the apartment still felt well-aired even after being occupied by sweaty exhausted marathoners. It is a little dark as you can see from the photos it has only very small windows. The space is well-planned and we were really delighted with it, and would definitely try to return when we are back in Paris again.
I booked this apartment for a friend and I who were in Paris for the Marathon. Right from the booking confirmation the owner has been responsive and helpful. The apartment itself is a perfect base for your stay, well-planned and equipped with everything you need from super-reliable wifi to french press for morning coffee and every kitchen utensil you might need. Water is hot, shower pressure good, bedding is clean. We didn't hear a squeak from the apartment block and the neighbourhood is quiet.
The best thing about this apartment is the amazing location. It was great to feel like a local instead of staying in a hotel. Having ran 26 miles of Parisian streets I can confidently conclude that the best view of all is mere moments from the apartment door.. standing at Trocadero looking over the Eiffel Tower. Even better, taking in that view from the restaurant opposite with a cold beer. The patisserie at Carette (again, Trocadero, 3 minutes from the apartment) is hard to beat, and the bistro on Rue Scheffer (1 minute from the apartment) is truly authentic and top notch.
I'd definitely recommend this apartment and hope to return one day myself. Thanks Carolyn!
My husband and I shared this apartment with my parents for three nights in September 2015. It was perfect for our needs. Pre and post communication with the owner was very good and Agostino, the caretaker, was delightful.
Few notes: it is a little tricky to find your first time, so make sure you print out the thorough directions, with pictures, provided.
Also, the key/door was a little temperamental, so make sure you have Augustino show you exactly how to open the door. It was a breeze after our "lesson". :-)
We enjoyed picking up wine and cheese and chocolates and enjoying them together after long days of walking. The location is excellent and close to the metro.
I would highly recommend.
