Our comfortable and spacious home in lovely West Chop VH is the perfect location for quiet and accessibility. Located a short walk from Vineyard Haven, Owen Little Park and the West Chop Lighthouse, the house is 1 short block from Grove Avenue beach. The property is beautifully landscaped on more than 1/3 acre. It features two master bedrooms, perfect for two families to share. Front and back stairs provide excellent flow. The rear yard is large, private and fenced-in with plenty of deck and backyard seating and a hot tub to add a nice finish to your day. The home has 3.5 baths renovated in 2014 plus an outdoor shower on the deck. There are three fireplaces including one in the master bedroom. Beautifully decorated interior with with original artwork and plenty of seating/ Outdoors, the yard has mature landscaping and many flower beds. In the evenings, sit out on the front porch or the back deck. There will be little you need that is not available in this fully stocked home.
Location, Location, Location: This is the perfect spot for easy access to the beach, Vineyard Haven and its surroundings. Walk to town for breakfast, take leisurely walks and bike rides to explore the beautiful surroundings, visit the West Chop lighthouse and watch the sunset from the park facing west at the head of the chop. Located near a large and beautiful inn (the Thorncroft) if you plan extra people or visitors. Grove Avenue beach is right down the block, perfect if you have small children, like to kayak or canoe or want to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset.
All the comforts of home: Planning to do some cooking at home? We'd be surprised if there is something you need which is not in the fully stocked kitchen (except food, of course!) and there's a Weber Genesis gas grill on the deck. There are books and games, 5 bicycles, complete beach gear, an indoor/outdoor stereo with iPod hookup, flat panel cable TVs, wireless broadband Internet access, a fax/copier/printer and more. Let us know if there is something in particular you need and if we don't have it we can help you find it.
Finally, so you don't spend your last hours cleaning, a $150.00 cleaning fee will be deducted from your deposit. This covers basic cleaning for all ordinary use of the property.

We rented for nearly twenty years before finally deciding to make a bigger commitment to Island life. Allowing others to share our home helps make that commitment possible. During our rental years we almost always traveled with another couple and the tension over "who gets the master suite" was something we knew everyone want s to avoid so one of our criteria as buyers was a home with a double master suite arrangement. Whether it's two couples or two families, everyone loves it!
The short walk to Grove Avenue beach for a glass (plastic please!) of wine and the relaxing sunset view. Large fenced in yard for young kids. Beautiful garden with home grown veggies.
This home definitely feels like more of a home than a rental property. Great art (often lacking in rentals), great yard and landscaping, and great coffee table books. It is a really comfortable place to hang out for any length of time, especially after everyone needs a break from being out of the house! It is clear that the owners love the home.
The yard, wow, what an asset! The pictures do not do the yard justice. After years of renting on the Cape, this is the first property that I had serious backyard envy of. Beautiful, mature shrubs and flowers. The deck was also a very comfortable space. Cozy, well set up, comfortable furniture. We appreciated the potted veggies too.
The kitchen is a good size and layout, not updated, but totally what we expected and fine. It has all the needed amenities, plus more. The entire house has a great layout and is extremely functional and comfortable for two families of four (with smaller children). Bathrooms are plentiful, clean, and updated.
The home was just as we were told, beautiful, loaded with amenities from bikes, hot tub, great back yard, a very well stocked kitchen with everything you ever need, We walked to town for Ice Cream many days and nights, and had our morning coffee on the beach.
We are always a bit nervous when we rent a vacation home as far as cleanliness, but we soon realized when we got there that this was the real deal and no worries needed! Everything we needed in this beautiful home was as advertised.Two master suites, AC, hot tub,
a garage loaded with all the beach equipment we would need, many bikes....
And then the location being about a mile out of VH and the ice cream shops...

Our spacious and cheery island home is located just off Main Street by the water in West Chop, a quiet residential area 1 block from the beach and midway between the West Chop Lighthouse and commercial Main Street. There are many beautiful road and nature walks and bike rides in the area. The house features a quiet and private fenced-in rear yard.
There is lots to do a short drive from home. Within a 15 minute drive you can visit Oak Bluffs or Edgartown, take the ferry to Chappaquiddick, swim or sun at Long Point Beach, State Beach, South Beach, walk around (or dig for clams in) Lake Tashmoo, go back in time to the quiet, four-acre fishing hole known as Seth's Pond, rent or charter a boat, take a sailing cruise at sunset, enjoy a meal at countless restaurants, make bead jewelry in VH, hike or mountain bike in the state forest, explore antique shops and art galleries, or enjoy a children's park with your kids, just to name a few ideas. Reserve by 5/1/14 and we have transferable ferry tickets!
Other Activities: sit on the bench near the lighthouse and watch the sun set.
Golf: Mink Meadows (public , 9 holes) is 1 mile away. Farm Neck in Oak Bluffs (10 minutes) is challenging and beautiful. Other public 18-hole courses are available on island.
All four bathrooms have been fully renovated over the winter months and look great!

To make departure easier for you, a cleaning fee of $125.00 will apply to each stay.
Rentals are generally Saturday to Saturday but mid week arrivals may be accommodated. Ferry tickets available for bookings before January 10th. Security deposit is $500 due with the final lease payment. Cleaning charge will be deducted from security deposit, which will be re
$2,000.00 initial deposit is paid when lease is signed. $1,000.00 is due by April 20th, and the balance of $1,250.00 is due together with the security deposit of $500.00 is due on May 20th. Once made, all rent payments are non-refundable.
