Edinburgh Abbeyhill apartment is a stylish self-catering, first floor, one-bedroom apartment perfect for holidays or business trip stays. It is located at only few minutes’ walk from the Queen’s Palace, the Scottish Parliament and the very famous and historical Royal Mile. At the same time it is located in a quiet cul de sac with free on street car parking and pedestrian access to the magnificent Holyrood Park, Arthur’s Seat and the St Margaret's Loch: beautiful scenery you won’t easily forget about!

Only few minutes walking and you will be immersed in the beautiful historical Royal Mile that goes from the Queen’s Palace right up to the Edinburgh Castle.

Frequent buses will take you to the main touristic destinations and shopping streets, with the nearest bus stop being only 2-3 minutes away and Princess Street at about 10-15 minutes by bus. Night buses will take you home from the city centre too.

The apartment is fully equipped with everything you may need for an enjoyable stay while visiting the beautiful city of Edinburgh: from the comfort of gas central heating programmable system, to a fully equipped kitchen and cooking accessories, linen and towels provided inclusive in the price, and of course unlimited Wi-Fi internet access, so staying in contact with your friends and family, sharing online your experiences whilst enjoying your favourite internet radio will be easy and at the touch of a button of your portable device.

In the apartment you will find a 32” flat TV connected up to a DVD player, kitchen tools, plates, cutlery, cooking pots etc., complimentary towels, bed linen, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, comfortable double bed and a sofa that can be converted in double bed. You will also have at your disposal microwave, kettle, toaster, Italian coffee machine, electric fan oven, gas hobs and fridge.

A big supermarket with pharmacy open 7 days a week and a cash machine are only 5 minutes away.

Why going to a hotel, when you could stay in an apartment and enjoy the privacy and “home feeling” that this can provide, also saving money that you could spend around the town?

As the apartment owner, most of the times it will be myself or my wife to welcome our guests: we are very friendly, most of the times can accommodate late arrivals without extra charges, and can provide tips and help on getting to the apartment from the airport or train station, travelling around the city, local touristy attractions and any other queries you might have before and during your staying.

About Mario Chiurato

I'm an Italian guy who has been living in Edinburgh since the year 1998, and I love this vibrant and very historical city! I like to provide my customers the best service possible, when they stay in my properties. This means being flexible with their requests as much as possible. I speak Italian, English and Spanish, and with a little help from Google Translate I can adventure myself in other languages too!

Mario Chiurato purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Mario Chiurato chose Edinburgh and Lothians

Great location to explore Edinburgh from!

  • 4 of 5

My stay was toward the end of August for 3 nights. I'd never been to the UK or Scotland before, and found this a great place to explore Edinburgh from. While the bus lines are handy... I just happened to walk everywhere I went. (Except to and from the train station I took a taxi because of my luggage.) I walked to Holyrood House, Parliament building, Edinburgh castle, Carlton Hill, St Giles Cathedral, etc. While it is “uphill” walking all the way to Edinburgh Castle, at least at the end of the day when you are tired, it is all “downhill” to get back to the apartment! Many places to eat & shop along the Royal Mile! The view at the end of the street of the apartment once you enter Holyrood Park is absolutely amazing! I was initially surprised to see all of the people with their dogs… but it made sense that it was a perfect place to bring them to play! I found the apartment itself to be quite nice, and it is located in a quiet neighborhood. I felt the bed was comfortable, the apartment was super clean, and just a nice, relaxing place to be after walking around all day. Mario made sure that I knew to give them a call anytime if I needed anything.

Good location from bottom of Royal Mile and a place to put your head down at night

  • 2 of 5

Mario was kind during all his contact with us and the flat was clean when we arrived.

Unfortunately we did seem to have a few problems which Mario did offer to try to sort, but as we were only there for 2 nights, we didn't want to sit in and wait for these things to be done, we wanted to go and explore.

We noticed a strong smell of stale smoke in the flat which they had tried to cover up with numerous air freshners. By the end of our stay, we decided it wasn't the flat which smelt, but the communal stairwell which seemed to seep into the flat, unfortunately.

We had problems with the flush of the toilet and had to lift the cistern and pop the flush back up each time. Mario arranged a plumber for after we left. The fridge did not work, neither did the light bulb in the bathroom.

We found the bed rather uncomfortable and there was a street light outside the bedroom window with only office style blinds to block it out. It is quite close to the train line and you could hear the trains but they didn't run all night.

This flat is a great base to explore Edinburgh all day and crash in the evenings and I think we were unlucky with our experience; this all sounds rather negative, but we just thought it was important to give an honest review. We don't think it is a normal, true reflection of the standard Mario aims to maintain in his property.

Great Location, Safe and Spotless

  • 5 of 5

We're a retired couple who travel quite a bit. We were very pleased with this location -- it's two blocks from the London Road bus route, which takes you anywhere in Edinburgh. The apartment itself is in a secure, but "non-touristy" section of the city, so guests can get a more genuine feeling for daily life, and still hit the tourist spots. It's quiet and safe, and the Royal Mile is 6 minutes away by bus. Everything inside was spotless and comfortable. We'd absolutely stay here again if we came back to Edinburgh.

Clean Living

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is lovely and had all the convinces that we needed for our stay. It is a very quiet area and building. It is also about a 5-10 minute walk to the Royal Mile.... A 3 minute walk to the park, where you have an amazing view of Arthur's Seat and the Queen's Palace. We managed to walk all of Edinburgh from our location. If you'd like to try haggis, neeps and tatties, while sitting in a gorgeous "pub" I highly recommend the Royal Cafe. Such a treat! Mario is a gracious host and happy to help with directions, recommendations, best transportation and anything else that may arise. I would recommend this flat to friends and family and I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Very nice

  • 4 of 5

We were very pleased with the apartment. Close to Royal Mile and some nice restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Edinburgh and the apartment was comfortable. A couple more towels would have been nice, but other than that we were very happy with the experience. Mario was very gracious. Thank you, Mario

Great Location!

  • 4 of 5

We recently stayed at this apartment in June and were met by Mario upon our arrival. The place had everything we needed for our stay and pretty much looked exactly like the photos we saw online. The best part about it however, is definitely the location! It was only about a 30 min taxi ride from the airport and we were able to walk to everything we needed. It is a nice walk to local pubs, the grocery store, the Royal Mile and there are plenty of hiking trails nearby. We were also able to walk to the train station and venture off to other places for the day as well. We recommend taking the train to North Berwick for the day and have lunch in the harbor at the Lobster Shack! A stop at Oink on the Royal Mile was also a treat if you like pork. We would definitely recommend this place to others! Thanks for everything Mario! We really enjoyed our stay there!
